Book La formation des enseignants en Europe

Download or read book La formation des enseignants en Europe written by Gilles Baillat and published by De Boeck Supérieur. This book was released on 2010-10-21 with total page 302 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Homo Sapiens Europ us

Download or read book Homo Sapiens Europ us written by Michael Kuhn and published by Peter Lang. This book was released on 2006 with total page 316 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In many ways, education mirrors society by reflecting changing and emergent goals and values as well as by contributing to both the reproduction and production of particular life forms. In the context of the formative project «Europe, » education is called upon to play an increasingly central role, one that is responsive to particular images of the European Union and to its aspirations and goals. The widespread conviction is that education and training will re-invigorate ailing economies, and that, in the context of globalization, national and regional competitiveness will only prevail if there is a qualitative continued improvement in human capital. This volume critically examines such claims, considering the ways in which learning is being constructed across Europe and the implications this has for notions of democratic citizenship and education.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Schools for the Future Europe brings together a team of leading academics, policy makers and education professionals to explore the emergence, development and application of European education policy up to the 2009 Lisbon Treaty and beyond. The book charts the historical development of a Europe-wide education policy, and examines how that policy has sought to address such issues as European citizenship, human rights and bilingual schooling. Taking as examples the intended future extension of the European Schools and the European Baccalaureate, and a case study of work towards the first British European Academy or Free School at Culham, UK, the book critically explores the interplay of EU action programmes, policy and rhetoric on secondary education. In the final section, the editors draw on the insights of the previous chapters to outline an achievable programme for the future development of education policy structures and practice in schools for Europe.
