Download or read book L implication professionnelle au cours de la transition formation emploi written by Sandrine Koenig and published by . This book was released on 2012 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Marriage and Cohabitation

Download or read book Marriage and Cohabitation written by Arland Thornton and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 2008-09-15 with total page 455 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In an era when half of marriages end in divorce, cohabitation has become more commonplace and those who do get married are doing so at an older age. So why do people marry when they do? And why do some couples choose to cohabit? A team of expert family sociologists examines these timely questions in Marriage and Cohabitation, the result of their research over the last decade on the issue of union formation. Situating their argument in the context of the Western world’s 500-year history of marriage, the authors reveal what factors encourage marriage and cohabitation in a contemporary society where the end of adolescence is no longer signaled by entry into the marital home. While some people still choose to marry young, others elect to cohabit with varying degrees of commitment or intentions of eventual marriage. The authors’ controversial findings suggest that family history, religious affiliation, values, projected education, lifetime earnings, and career aspirations all tip the scales in favor of either cohabitation or marriage. This book lends new insight into young adult relationship patterns and will be of interest to sociologists, historians, and demographers alike.

Book The Psychology of Conservatism Routledge Revivals

Download or read book The Psychology of Conservatism Routledge Revivals written by Glenn Wilson and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-10-14 with total page 299 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First published in 1973, The Psychology of Conservatism explores attitudes, their measurement, their structure and dynamics, and the personality traits apparently underlying attitude patterns. It examines the link between differing attitudes and discusses characteristic patterns and syndromes. The book focuses on the origins and dynamics of a major factor called "liberalism – conservatism" which is found to account for much of the variance in attitudes amongst different people. Contributors review previous studies relating to personality and attitude before engaging in new studies and proposing their own theories to explain the conservative attitude. The book introduces provocative theoretical ideas and provides a valuable examination of an important psychological and social attitude syndrome. This book will be of interest to researchers in personality and social psychology, sociology and political science and education.

Book The Psychology of Behaviour at Work

Download or read book The Psychology of Behaviour at Work written by Adrian Furnham and published by Psychology Press. This book was released on 2012-08-06 with total page 854 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This superb introduction to the field of organizational psychology and organizational behaviour builds on the foundation of the highly successful first edition to provide up-to-date explanations of all the key topics in a clear, coherent and accessible style. The text is supported by numerous illustrations and examples as well as end-of-chapter summaries and concluding remarks. Topic sections on key research studies, as well as applied aspects such as human resources applications and cross-cultural issues, lead the reader through the complexities of the theory to its practical application. The Psychology of Behaviour at Work covers all major topics in the field, from vocational choice, personality, attitudes, motivation and stress, to cooperation, learning, training, group dynamics, decision making and leadership. Further sections introduce corporate culture and climate, as well as organisational structure, change and development, and a final section outlines predictions not only for the future study of organizational psychology, but of the future of work itself. As with the first edition, The Psychology of Behaviour at Work will prove to be an invaluable resource for psychology students on work and organizational psychology courses, business students on organizational behaviour courses, and human resources managers eager to expand their knowledge of this fascinating field.
