Book L eschatologie du proph te Daniel

Download or read book L eschatologie du proph te Daniel written by Frederick Guttmann and published by Frederick Guttmann. This book was released on with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Le proph te Daniel et l Apocalypse de Saint Jean written by Carl-August Auberlen and published by BoD - Books on Demand. This book was released on 2023-04-25 with total page 413 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Daniel in the Preterists Den

Download or read book Daniel in the Preterists Den written by Thomas A. Howe and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2008-06-01 with total page 743 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years, there has been rise in popularity and visibility of the debate about the last things. Preterists and Futurists have published books, articles, and even movies promoting their respective views. This debate has elevated the interest of the Christian public in eschatological issues. Along with the increased interest in eschatology, there has been a rise in popularity of the Preterist view, which holds that most or all of the prophecies about ChristÕs coming have already been fulfilledÑthat the Òsecond comingÓ took place in 70 AD. Most of the discussion from those who espouse the Preterist view, however, revolves around certain passages in the New Testament, and their treatment of Old Testament passages is sporadic and selective. The importance of the book of Daniel in these discussions cannot be overstated. However, most commentaries on Daniel from a Futurist perspective have not dealt with the PreteristsÕ interpretations of the key prophetic passages. There simply is no detailed commentary on the book of Daniel that addresses the Presterist interpretations of this important book. This book is a commentary on the entire book of Daniel from a Futurist perspective that specifically addresses the Preterist interpretations of the key prophetic passages. This is not a book that selects passages out of the context of the book and attempts to explain their prophetic significance. Rather, this is a commentary on the entire book of Daniel that places these critical prophetic passages in their literary and historical context, and then deals with the various interpretations of these passages as they fit into the context of the book as a whole.

Book The Syriac Apocalypse of Daniel

Download or read book The Syriac Apocalypse of Daniel written by Matthias Henze and published by Mohr Siebeck. This book was released on 2001 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Matthias Henze has prepared the editio princeps of the Syriac Apocalypse of Daniel, a hitherto unknown apocalypse composed in the early seventh century A.D. in Syriac and preserved in a single manuscript only. Following an introduction to the Apocalypse, the book includes an edition of the Syriac text, an English translation, and a detailed commentary.Like the biblical Daniel on which it is closely modelled, the Syriac Apocalypse of Daniel is an 'historical' apocalypse, i.e. it has two parts: the 'historical' first part relates the adventures of Daniel in midrashic form, from his deportation by Nebuchadnezzar until his return to Persia from Jerusalem which he visits with King Darius. Upon returning to Persia, Daniel has a sequence of apocalyptic visions which are recorded in the latter, eschatological part of the text and which describe the gradual unfolding of the end of time. The Syriac Apocalypse has preserved a number of motifs worth exploring: the messianic woes, the Gates of the North erected by Alexander the Great, a description of Antichrist's physiognomy, the Second Coming of Christ, and the new Jerusalem. Equally important, the Syriac Apocalypse of Daniel bears testimony to the vibrant apocalyptic currency in Syriac Christianity.

Book Eschatology of the Prophet Daniel

Download or read book Eschatology of the Prophet Daniel written by Frederick Guttmann and published by Frederick Guttmann. This book was released on with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The prophet Daniel is a historical icon of the people of Israel, although he is more special to Christian theology. It is especially important for being the prophet with the most revelations received in a historical context and even in great detail, addressing global issues of geopolitics and conquest centuries before such occurred. Although, this man is much more for Christianity than for the Jews themselves, and that is why I have dedicated this work to him, since, unlike what would happen to a greater extent with Judaism, within Christianity he is largely a turning point in eschatology. The name 'Daniel' means in Hebrew "God is my judge" or "judgment of God", although during his stay in Babel (Babylon) he was called in Akkadian 'Balatsu usur' ("Bel protects the king"), transcribed to Spanish as 'Beltsasar'. He was one of the sons of the Jewish aristocracy who were taken out of Israel by Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylon, during the time of Iahoikin (Joachim), king of Judah, that is, he was taken captive back in 598 or 597 BC. C., although it is not officially known how old he was when he was taken, or his year of birth itself. Something that recently came to be known is that the book of Daniel enjoyed great popularity among the essence community, there is much information that emphasizes his writing in the Qumran Caves, even considering it "canonical" (the Jews did not put Daniel with the compendium of manuscripts of the Nebiím (Prophets) but with the merely historical ones, the Ketubim (Writings)). In fact, if the popularity of a book is judged by the number of copies of copies found in the caves, Daniel - with its 8 scrolls - would occupy 4th place, together with the book of the 12 prophets (Deuteronomy has 14 manuscripts, Isaiah is 12, and the Samos are 10).

Book excerpt: When Manasses set up a carved image in the house of the Lord, and built altars in the two courts of the house, to all the host of Heaven, and us'd inchantments and witchcraft, and familiar spirits, and for his great wickedness was invaded by the army of Asserhadon King of Assyria, and carried captive to Babylon; the book of the Law was lost till the eighteenth year of his grandson Josiah. Then Hilkiah the High Priest, upon repairing the Temple, found it there: and the King lamented that their fathers had not done after the words of the book, and commanded that it should be read to the people, and caused the people to renew the holy covenant with God. This is the book of the Law now extant.

Download or read book How Long O Lord written by Desmond Ford and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2010-05-25 with total page 73 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the prophecies of Daniel flower all New Testament teachings about the future. Christs final words about coming events (Matt. 24-25; Luke 21 and Mark 13) build on Daniels predictions about the abomination of desolation, a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations, the Son of man coming with the clouds of heaven, the end coming like a flood, and the destruction of the temple and the end of the world. Our Lords warning about nations in distress and perplexity (Luke 21:25) has its seed in the first great Apocalypse written by the captive seer in Babylon. No other book of the Old Testament had such tremendous influence on the New Testament and the early Christian church. Scholars acknowledge that apocalyptic was the mother of Christian theology. Ours is an age desperately seeking a theodicy, a vindication of Gods goodness and justice in the face of evil and the wisdom and benevolence of his ways. This Daniel provides. His prophecies understood prove that the world is a ship and not an iceberg, and that human beings are not just the product of time plus chance plus mud. Here is an answer to existentialism, atheism, and post-modernism. Dr. Fords book provides an interpretative summary of Daniel that will prove a key of untold value for all earnest Bible students.

Book The Prophecies of Daniel 2

Download or read book The Prophecies of Daniel 2 written by John S. Evans and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2008-05 with total page 282 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although Daniel 2:45 states that the great statue composed of four metals and with feet of clay reveals the future, relatively few biblical scholars have understood it as an amazingly accurate timeline that does exactly that. Liberals have been unwilling to consider that the statue's fourth kingdom is Rome. Most conservatives have recognized that it is Rome, but they have gone astray by seeking a nonexistent link between that ancient empire and the modern world. The key to understanding the statue is to recognize that it presents a prophecy that was fulfilled in the first century by the Coming of Christ, which was the historical equivalent of the rock that destroys the statue. The rock's growth into the mountain that covers all of Earth foretells a process that began in the first century and includes the thousand years of Revelation 20. This process appears to have reached a historical climax in our own time. John S. Evans is a retired professor of economics and international finance who taught at the University of Alabama from 1968 until 2000 after beginning his teaching career in 1959 at the University of South Dakota. His professional accomplishments included a year in Mexico as a Fulbright Lecturer and the writing of a textbook on international financial management. Since 1996, when he went into partial retirement, his primary intellectual activity has consisted of the intensive study of the Bible, with emphasis on the Book of Daniel. In 2004, he published with Xulon Press The Four Kingdoms of Daniel: A Defense of the "Roman" Sequence with AD 70 Fulfillment. The present book expands on parts of The Four Kingdoms and offers much new material. Evans has authored over thirty articles that have been posted at planetpreterist.com and has been a frequent guest on John Anderson's "Voice of Reason."

Book Observations Upon the Prophecies of Daniel and the Apocalypse of St John

Download or read book Observations Upon the Prophecies of Daniel and the Apocalypse of St John written by Isaac Newton and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2009-10 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In "Observations Upon the Prophecies of Daniel, and the Apocalypse of St. John," one of humanity's greatest minds is brought to bear on Prophecy. The mastermind of Sir Isaac Newton yields results just as brilliant when studying Bible prophecy as when his attention was turned to the physical universe! There is in this book a consistency of interpretation in "Observations Upon the Prophecies of Daniel, and the Apocalypse of St. John" that is seldom seen in the works of modern-day scholars. Isaac Newton seems to be completely true to the message of the Bible when providing his own thoughts on the Antichrist, the Beast, the Woman called "Babylon", and the "Great Tribulation". The integrity of Newton's scholarship and skills of exegesis give the reader a distinct impression that, unlike most writers on end-times prophecy today, Newton would have gladly give up his prejudices in exchange for something better: the Truth. In "Observations Upon the Prophecies of Daniel, and the Apocalypse of St. John," Isaac presents an excellent example of Premillennial Historicism. This is essentially the same view held by H. Grattan Guinness, E.B. Elliott, Matthew Henry, and Charles Spurgeon. Every pastor or teacher who preaches or teaches on the subject of the Last Days should have a copy of "Observations Upon the Prophecies of Daniel, and the Apocalypse of St. John" on his desk.
