La Terapia Razionale Emotiva Comportamentale spiega il meccanismo che sta alla base delle reazioni emotive attraverso il modello ABC dell’emozione:il punto A indica un qualsiasi evento o situazione;il punto B comprende i pensieri valutativi riguardanti ciò che accade al punto A;il punto C è la reazione emotiva e il comportamento che ne deriva.Secondo questo modello non è A (l’evento) a causare direttamente C (l’emozione), ma piuttosto è l’elemento B (i pensieri) che determina il tipo di reazione emotiva e comportamentale.L’educazione razionale-emotivaL’educazione razionale-emotiva è un percorso didattico derivato dalla Terapia Razionale Emotiva Comportamentale, attraverso il quale si cerca di educare la mente del bambino al potenziamento di quell’aspetto dell’intelligenza che è in grado di favorire reazioni emotive equilibrate e funzionali. Il processo di educazione emotiva, inteso come strategia di prevenzione del disagio emotivo, costituisce, secondo un’espressione coniata da alcuni psicologi statunitensi, un vero e proprio lavoro di «alfabetizzazione emozionale». Attempting to find common ground among scholars from various disciplines and regions, Medieval Narratives between History and Fiction seeks to clarify the subject by including a wide range of medieval narratives irrespective of their modern label and affiliation to certain disciplines. The chapters collected here broaden the discussion by moving beyond the canonical French and German romances, focusing mainly on texts in Greek, Latin and Old Norse (and also some in Serbian), and by opting for a ‘peripheral’ and a long-term view of the subject. The chapters take us from Graeco-Roman antiquity to medieval France, then to the Scandinavian lands and from there to south-eastern Europe and Byzantium as the link back to the Graeco-Roman world. This disposition also follows a spiral motion in time, leading us from antiquity to late antiquity and from the eleventh to the fifteenth century. Here, Claude Calame mounts a powerful critique of modern-day misconceptions on this front and the lax methodology that has allowed them to prevail. He argues that the Greeks viewed their abundance of narratives not as a single mythology but as an "archaeology." They speculated symbolically on key historical events so that a community of believing citizens could access them efficiently, through ritual means. Central to the book is Calame's rigorous and fruitful analysis of various accounts of the foundation of that most "mythical" of the Greek colonies--Cyrene, in eastern Libya. Calame opens with a magisterial historical survey demonstrating today's misapplication of the terms "myth" and "mythology." Next, he examines the Greeks' symbolic discourse to show that these modern concepts arose much later than commonly believed. Having established this interpretive framework, Calame undertakes a comparative analysis of six accounts of Cyrene's foundation: three by Pindar and one each by Herodotus (in two different versions), Callimachus, and Apollonius of Rhodes. We see how the underlying narrative was shaped in each into a poetically sophisticated, distinctive form by the respective medium, a particular poetical genre, and the specific socio-historical circumstances. Calame concludes by arguing in favor of the Greeks' symbolic approach to the past and by examining the relation of mythos to poetry and music.
