Book Psycho Girls in Bondage

Download or read book Psycho Girls in Bondage written by Stephen Pentacoste and published by Deicide Press. This book was released on 2015-07 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Irving Klaw was the legendary New York-based mail order merchant who, between around 1949 and his eventual prosecution for obscenity in 1966, produced thousands of films, photographic sets and printed booklets based on themes of fetishism, bondage, and sado-masochism. Although best-known for his discovery and promotion of the iconic bondage model Betty Page, Klaw's greatest legacy undoubtedly lies in his pioneering publishing work in the field of bondage illustration. Klaw's earliest bondage art series -- which he published as photographs in sets of episodes -- were mostly themed around images of girls fighting. But Klaw's activities soon attracted other artists, such as Eric Stanton and Gene Bilbrew ("Eneg"), who offered work more firmly based on bondage, restraint, and cruelty. The popularity of this type of art was quickly established, and Klaw went on to produce dozens of sets by a whole range of like-minded artists throughout the 1950s. PSYCHO GIRLS IN BONDAGE is a new anthology which collects some of the most outstanding examples of bondage art and fiction originally published by Klaw. The featured artists are Stanton, Eneg, Jim, Ruiz, and Dixon, all stalwarts of Klaw's bondage-art catalogue. The book includes over 200 images. Klaw Klassix is a new illustrated book series of classic "non-nude" erotic art and fiction, dedicated to preserving and presenting the very best works originally published by Irving Klaw.

Download or read book Bettie written by Irving Klaw and published by . This book was released on 2016-10-15 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: BETTIE! : The Incomparable Bettie Page Archives of Irving Klaw is a very carefully curated collection of exquisitely reproduced photographs. Never before have so many of Klaw's photographs been published in a single book. The photographs include some of the most iconic photographs ever taken of Bettie as well as some never before published photographs of the legendary 1950's pinup queen. The photographer, Irving Klaw, was noted as one of America's first fetish photographers and Bettie as America's first famous bondage model. From 1952 through 1958 the pair worked together weekly in Irving's New York studio. Irving was played by Chris Bauer opposite Gretchen Mol in the 2005 film, "The Notorious Bettie Page". The Kefauver Hearings of the Senate Subcommittee on Juvenile Delinquency in 1957 marked the beginning of the end of Irving's mail-order photography business in New York. The investigation tried to link pornography to juvenile delinquency. The McCarthy-style hearings branded Irving as a degenerate pornographer and ushered in a new wave of media censorship. Bettie was also summoned to the hearings but was never called to testify (parts of the hearings are recreated in the film The Notorious Bettie Page). She retired from modeling soon afterwards. Because of the political, social and legal pressures he faced, Irving closed his storefront business and burned many of his negatives. It is estimated that more than 80% of the negatives were destroyed. However, his sister Paula secretly kept some of the better images, which are now reproduced like never before in this exclusive book.

  • Release : 2015-12-20

Download or read book You Are There written by Jean-Claude Forest and published by . This book was released on 2015-12-20 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: You Are There is an unexpected collaboration between the darkly cynical Jacques Tardi and the playful fantasist Jean-Claude Forest (of Barbarella fame). It is set on a small island off the coast of France, where unscrupulous landowners have succeeded in overtaking the land from the last heir of a previously wealthy family. His domain now reduced to the walls that border the patches of land he used to own, the half-mad fellow prowls the walls all day, eking out a living by collecting tolls at each gate. His seemingly hopeless struggle to recover his birthright becomes complicated as the government sees a way of using his plight for the sake of political expediency, and the romantic intervention of the daughter of one of the landowners (who has her own sordid history with the politician) engenders further difficulties. Set in Tardi's preferred early 20th century milieu, You Are There is drawn in his crisp 1980s neo-"clear line" style, gorgeously detailed, with impossibly deep slabs of black.
