Download or read book Unleashing the Killer App written by Larry Downes and published by H B S Press. This book was released on 1998 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When technologies, products, and services converge in radical, creative new ways, a killer app emerges-a new application so powerful that it transforms industries, redefines markets, and annihilates the competition. The steam engine, the cotton gin, and the Model T were all killer apps of their time. Today's killer apps spring from the digital realm: the personal computer, e-mail, and the World Wide Web. Tempted by the promise of such devastating power, companies large and small, from vast multinationals to lean entrepreneurial start-ups, are remaking themselves into organizations that nurture killer apps rather than succumb to them. How is it done? In this groundbreaking new book, strategists Downes and Mui identify the twelve fundamental design principles for building killer apps and offer a progressive guide to transforming your company into a place where killer apps are born. Unleashing the Killer App provides the tools, the techniques, and the proof that you need to incubate the killer app within your organization--and perhaps even release one.

Honesty was not always Scott’s policy, and their unexpected reunion is further complicated when the festival becomes a crime scene. On Becca’s second day there, Ferris wheel operator Virgil Morrison is found hanging from his rickety ride, dead from a gunshot. As Becca starts to notice Scott suspiciously sneaking around the fairgrounds, she begins to worry her ex may be involved in the murder. Download or read book Murderer s Market written by Joan Dunning and published by Author House. This book was released on 2013-11-15 with total page 255 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Detective Superintendent Charles Blower goes to Benfield House, a renovated Georgian country house in Kent, at the behest of his good friend Alex Pike who, with his wife Barrie, is author of a series of detective novels. Both are keen amateur detectives. This is an intriguing case for Blower since the crime, the unusual stabbing of a woman conveyancer surveying an apartment in the house whose owner works abroad, appears motiveless. It is set up to look accidental. However, his intuition and experience as a Metroplolitan Police Detective, leads him to work with the Kent County Police Inspector who originally dealt with the crime scene. Through this association, and the eruption of a series of burglaries in the county, Blower begins to wonder if burglary was a factor in the womans murder. Some dubious characters, including the houseowners son, recently imprisoned for aggravated burglary, come under suspicion. It takes persistence, application and lateral thinking for several burglars, and the murderer, to be apprehended. The Annual Fete on the village green fronting Benfield House, provides the backdrop to an eventful outcome, which is concluded after a car chase through the Kent countryside to its coast.
