Book Death of a Glades Man A Florida Keys Mystery

Download or read book Death of a Glades Man A Florida Keys Mystery written by Carl Bock and published by Absolutely Amazing eBooks. This book was released on 2023-02-18 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Sam Sawyer may become my favorite crime fighter. I can’t wait for the next book in this new Florida Keys mystery series …” —Maryjane Elizabeth Jones, Heat Until Boiling They called Arthur Broom “The Glades Man,” not because he lived way out there in the river of grass, but because he was spending all his money trying to save it. And as one of the richest men in Florida there was much he could do to beat back the onslaughts of agriculture and development that were threatening the greatest wetland in North America. But that sort of thing made some powerful enemies. When he ended up dead in the water, Detective Stella Reynard had good reason to suspect it was more than a simple drowning. She recruited fishing guide and part-time sleuth Sam Sawyer to help her with the case, along with Sam’s wife Katie, a full-time forensic botanist. The challenge they faced was not a lack of suspects but too many, such was the list of people whose wealth and power Art Broom had threatened. Carl and Jane Bock are retired Professors of Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Carl received his Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of California at Berkeley, while Jane holds three degrees in Botany, a B.A. from Duke, an M.A. from the University of Indiana, and a Ph.D. from Berkeley. Carl is an ornithologist and conservation biologist. Jane is a plant ecologist and an internationally recognized expert in the use of plant evidence in criminal investigations. Now largely retired from academic life, the Bocks have turned their creative efforts toward fiction writing, and are co-authors of two ongoing series, the Arizona Borderlands Mysteries and the Florida Keys Mysteries.

Book The Hidden Keys in the Bible

Download or read book The Hidden Keys in the Bible written by Vernon Atkins and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-01-24 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is it really possible to unlock the mysteries of hidden secrets that are contained within the Bible? And what would be the reason for God and/or his Son to lock up true knowledge of who he and his Son is from his children, whom he says he loves very much and wishes that none should perish? Could it be that God wants to see if his children would go all out to know him and his Son? This would show true love for the parents, and God and his Son is no different than any other parent. They want to see how much the children loves them, and what better way for the child to show the parents that they are very much loved by the children than for the children to obey the parents, completely, without question. For the child at that point when the parent jumps for joy, for the child has shown very much respect for his parents, our God and his Son are no different than the parents of human children. It's almost like when a human parent hears for the first time their child say "Papa" or "Mama." It is complete joy to the parents, and likewise to the Father and his Son, when they see the children taking the time to seek them out, to know them firsthand. It is the same feeling as the human parents feel when the child says "Papa" or "Mama." This is when the Father starts to open up doors that were hidden from the rest of the world. This is how he shows you his love for you. The Father slowly releases his Spirit (Holy) a little bit here and there. It is only when you begin to put the pieces together that it becomes clear, and a key is given unto you; and the more you study his Word, his Bible, he releases more knowledge that is hidden from the rest of the world. Remember, the more you seek out the Father, the more he releases his knowledge to you. "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Tim. 2:15). What is 2 Timothy 2:15 saying? The Father is telling you to not put your trust in man (minister) to reveal his truth but to seek for him yourself. All you need to do is knock, seek, and ask with a pure heart, and he will come to you and be your God, and you will be his son or daughter. Those who have ears will hear. God bless us all.

  • Author : David Alan Richards
  • Publisher : Simon and Schuster

Download or read book Skulls and Keys written by David Alan Richards and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2017-09-05 with total page 894 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The mysterious, highly influential hidden world of Yale’s secret societies is revealed in a definitive and scholarly history. Secret societies have fundamentally shaped America’s cultural and political landscapes. In ways that are expected but never explicit, the bonds made through the most elite of secret societies have won members Pulitzer Prizes, governorships, and even presidencies. At the apex of these institutions stands Yale University and its rumored twenty-six secret societies. Tracing a history that has intrigued and enthralled for centuries, alluring the attention of such luminaries as Ernest Hemingway, William Faulkner and F. Scott Fitzgerald, Skulls and Keys traces the history of Yale’s societies as they set the foundation for America’s future secret clubs and helped define the modern age of politics. But there is a progressive side to Yale’s secret societies that we rarely hear about, one that, in the cultural tumult of the nineteen-sixties, resulted in the election of people of color, women, and gay men, even in proportions beyond their percentages in the class. It’s a side that is often overlooked in favor of sensational legends of blood oaths and toe-curling conspiracies. Dave Richards, an alum of Yale, sheds some light on the lesser known stories of Yale’s secret societies. He takes us through the history from Phi Beta Kappa in the American Revolution (originally a social and drinking society) through Skull and Bones and its rivals in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. While there have been articles and books on some of those societies, there has never been a scholarly history of the system as a whole.

Book Spiritual Keys to the Holy Bible and the gift of God

Download or read book Spiritual Keys to the Holy Bible and the gift of God written by Shepherd C. Davis and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2005 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a "wake-up" call and a guide for Christians who are physically alive, but spiritually dead! Those who are Christian in name only! They do not attend regular worship services. They seldom communicate with God through prayer. They do not read the word of God or understand it. They do not live righteously because their lives are ruled by the sinful nature. They do not have the 'gift' of God, but expect to receive eternal life after death. However, many won't! Unless they repent, and receive the 'gift' of God, they will die in hell with the anti-Christ's and non-believers. This book is about the plan of God to reconcile humanity to himself through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. His sacrifice enabled the coming of the Holy Spirit. Both are essential for spiritual growth in this life; and later eternal life in the kingdom of God. Without Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit there is no spiritual growth or eternal life for anyone. In the 1st century A.D., a fraction of 1% of the world (the saints) received the 'gift' of God and eternal life, as prophesied [see Daniel 12:1-3]. The other 99.99999999% perished in hell! Today, nearly 33% of the world has received the "gift" of God. They are growing spiritually in 'this life' and will become spirit beings like the angels at the resurrection [see Luke 20:34-36]. The other 67% of the world (the anti-Christ's), however, will perish in hell. This, and much more, is revealed in the 'secrets' of the kingdom of God. Finally, this book provides biblical proof of the "second coming" of Christ and where he is on earth - today!

Book Book of Keys 2

Download or read book Book of Keys 2 written by Zachary Ziolkowski and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-10-06 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall shew it unto you. --John 16:13-14 Have you ever heard it said, history repeats? Ever wonder why that is? Why the wheels keep spinning with no traction? How do you get out of that rut? Well, this book is for you. In this book, you can, within the context of Christianity, learn why the world is locked into a cycle of vengeance, and how becoming a Christian can set you apart from this cycle and set you on a pathway to joy. Just like in the first Book of Keys, I put a little bit of everything in this book, and in a way, that is easy to read and hopefully just as easy to comprehend. My doctrines aren't as perfect as Christ's, but I'm on the pursuit of His Protestantism. I'm very hopeful that there is something you are looking for in life in this book, and that it will help to fortify your belief. We need every Christian to step up and speak out as the forces of darkness have made their power play for world control. Study hard, study often, and trust Jesus Christ. I hope you as the reader of this book find the well you are looking for.

Book The Cedar Keys Hurricane of 1896 Disaster at Dawn

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Families watched in horror as walls of water swept away homes and businesses, and men held onto saplings for their lives while the winds howled. The destruction was beyond belief. Buildings on Atsena Otie were swept away so completely that only cracked stone foundations remained, and the forests of red cedar that gave the islands their name and livelihood were flattened. Resulting in dozens of deaths and millions of dollars in damage, Hurricane Number 4 in 1896 changed the Cedar Keys forever and set the city on a path to the present. Historian Alvin F. Oickle, drawing on firsthand accounts and extensive archival research, tells the story of ordinary Floridians who were faced, like so many before and so many since, with nature's fury.
