Mediation and Atonement (1882) is one of the few works of theology written by a sitting President of the LDS Church. It serves as Taylor's of the preeminent role of the Son of God in the salvation of humankind; in it, he assembles scriptural passages pertaining to Christ's Atonement and offers a commentary on their meaning. This book is in the Deseret Alphabet, a phonetic alphabet for writing English developed in the mid-19th century at the University of Deseret (now the University of Utah).
