Book KEDI Instructional Strategies

Download or read book KEDI Instructional Strategies written by Yung Dug Lee and published by . This book was released on 1977 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper outlines the instructional systems model developed by the Korean Educational Development Institute (KEDI). Before discussing the system itself, the speaker outlines the Korean mastery learning strategy on which it is based. The mastery learning approach has nine phases: diagnosis of learning deficiency, compensatory programs, presentation of instructional objectives, teacher instruction, formative tests, remedial programs, enrichment programs, cooperative learning activities, and summative tests. While the mastery learning strategies address only the teaching/learning aspect of education, the KEDI instructional program model was developed as a subsystem of the total educational system. The KEDI model addresses itself to the five steps involved in instruction for a learning task: planning, diagnosis, teaching/learning, extended learning, and evaluation. The speaker discusses outcomes of the program's four tryouts and the cost implications of the program. (Author/IRT).

Book Curriculum Leadership by Middle Leaders

Download or read book Curriculum Leadership by Middle Leaders written by Kelvin Heng Kiat Tan and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2016-08-12 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. This book seeks to put the spotlight on second-order change that involves curriculum leadership and professional development support on the part of middle leaders for more sustainable and long-term change in teaching and learning that will influence what happens in classrooms. With timely and thought-provoking contribution from authors who pursue a range of scholarly interests in multiple educational settings, the book is guided by several underlying questions: How might we re-envision curriculum leadership so that it addresses both local and global concerns and aspirations? How might we better grasp how middle leaders understand and respond to the pressures of educational reform initiatives? How might middle leaders transform pressures into possibilities? This book will appeal to current teachers, those currently undertaking teacher training and students or academics carrying out research in the field of educational leadership.

Book Class Size

  • Publisher : Routledge
  • Release : 2016-04-28
  • ISBN : 1317643488
  • Pages : 313 pages

Download or read book Class Size written by Peter Blatchford and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-04-28 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Much debate, research and commentary about class sizes in schools is limited because of an exclusive concern with class size and pupil academic attainment, and a neglect of classroom processes, which might help explain class size effects (or lack of them). Very little is known about the central question: how can teachers make the most of class size changes? Much of the commentary on class size effects has focused on Western and English-speaking countries but there are promising developments elsewhere, particularly the 'Small Class Teaching' initiatives in East Asia in the past decade, which have brought new knowledge and practical wisdom to the class size debate. This book seeks to move toward a clearer view of what we know and do not know about class size effects, and to identify future steps in terms of policy and research. There is a huge and exciting potential for international collaboration on knowledge concerning class size effects which can help with research-informed policy. The book aims to draw out Eastern and Western international contexts which underpin any understanding of the role of class size in school learning. The book has chapters by an international team of experts on class size effects, including Maurice Galton and John Hattie. Chapters are organised into four main sections: Socio-cultural and political contexts to the class size debate in the East and West; Research evidence on class size; Class size and classroom processes likely to be related to class size changes; Professional development for small class teaching in East Asia.
