Book A Boy Called Kid

Download or read book A Boy Called Kid written by Thelma Inman and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2019-03-22 with total page 593 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tom resented her already, and when she began to spank his little sister, that was just too much. He was at the table and picked up a butcher knife, and then he turned and ran out the door. She hollered, "You just wait until your papa gets home." Tom knew he was in serious trouble. He started crying and running. He didn't know where he was going, only he knew he couldn't go back. He ran and cried until he came to their church building. He crawled under the building and started crying again. He must have cried himself to sleep because the next thing he heard was someone calling his name. He heard his papa say, "Just wait until I get hold of that kid." Tom lay real still until he couldn't hear them anymore. It was pitch-dark, and he was so scared and didn't know what to do. Every noise he heard he thought something was after him, so he crawled out and started running. He cried and ran all night on a dirt road with no shoes or shirt. Then he looked up to see this man coming toward him. He had a star on his shirt. He came up beside him and said, "Howdy, son, have you ran away from home? What is your name?" Tom knew better than to give his real name. About that time, a man came up and spoke to the lawman. He said, "No, he is with me."

Book At Last My Love This I Promise

Download or read book At Last My Love This I Promise written by Peebee Jax and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2010-07-23 with total page 156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When two hearts become one, both happiness and sometimes sadness will find a place in that seemingly perfect union. As much happiness as we shared, when I look back over our life together, I was blessed that God allowed me to experience such joy and love every day with a man who not only made promises but kept those promises. Even though I have also witnessed sadness to an unimaginable degree since his unexpected death, I can truly say I was still blessed to have loved and been loved to a magnitude I do not have words to describe. A lifetime cannot be defined in terms of hours, days, years, decades or century. Regardless of the length of time any relationship lasts, we must learn to live every minute like it is our last. That is what my one true love taught me! He added truth, honesty, love and devotion together and we had a sum total of joy and happiness divided by the number of offsprings produced by that love. And we never parted in anger or unforgiveness--because no one can predict what the next minute will bring. Sometimes I think my love was just too wise for this world--that is why God called him home to be with Him. As I look back over our life together, I feel enormously blessed by God to have had such a love as this in my lifetime. Only God made it possible. Only God allowed me to experience total bliss for a little while (29.8 years). Words cannot describe the memories stored in my memory bank of our span of time together. In all my days of blissful retreat, the only thing I feel I did not do enough of is giving grateful praise to the Almighty for creating that soul mate just for me and I for him. Life will go on and in each whisk of air against my skin as I sit and read, I will remember it is you my love stopping by to see me every now and then. God saw you were getting tired; So He did what He knew was best. He watched and waited for the exact time, You were in most need of some rest. You did not say to me farewell; Nor even a wave good-bye. God took you swift and easy-- I dare not ask God why. He gave you to me for a while; I loved you with all my heart, I showed you, I told you daily, Even in death, we are not apart. Rest easy Honey until I get there, I will know you when I arrive. We will be just two angels forever, Always--partners--side by side.

Through hundreds of vibrant color photographs, this unique resource illustrates how the appearance (e.g., color, shape, defects and injuries) of fruits and vegetables changes throughout their postharvest life and how storage temperature greatly contributes to critical quality changes. The book’s extensive coverage describes 37 different fruits and vegetables from different groups that were stored at five specific temperatures and photographed daily after specified elapsed periods of time. Individual fruits and vegetables from the following groups are covered: subtropical and tropical fruits pome and stone fruits soft fruits and berries cucurbitaceae solanaceous and other fruit vegetables legumes and brassicas stem, leaf and other vegetable and alliums Information is provided about each individual fruit/vegetable such as characteristics, quality criteria and composition; recommendations for storage, transport and retail; and effects of temperature on the visual and compositional quality of each individual fruit or vegetable, associated with photos of the appearance at particular times and temperatures. This visual documentation shows how important is to handle fruits and vegetables at the right temperature and what happens if the recommendations are not followed. Also shown is the importance of the initial harvest quality of the fruit/vegetable and the expected shelf life as a function of quality at harvest, storage temperature and storage time. Book excerpt: “What do you do when you meet your soul mate? No wait…that’s too easy. What do you do when you meet your soul mate and have to spend a lifetime loving him in secret? I’ll tell you what you do. You lie.” REN Ren was eight when he learned that love doesn’t exist—that the one person who was supposed to adore him only cared how much he was worth. His mother sold him and for two years, he lived in terror. But then…he ran. He thought he’d run on his own. Turned out, he took something of theirs by accident and it became the one thing he never wanted and the only thing he ever needed. DELLA I was young when I fell in love with him, when he switched from my world to my everything. My parents bought him for cheap labour, just like they had with many other kids, and he had the scars to prove it. At the start, he hated me, and I could understand why. For years he was my worst enemy, fiercest protector, and dearest friend. But by the end…he loved me. The only problem was, he loved me in an entirely different way to the way I loved him. And slowly, my secret drove us apart.
