Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: By the time you get your hands on this magazine, a wave of changes is expected to happen - tension of the recent SPM exams would have plummeted as the holiday spirit envelops us, and while everything is bright and merry, some of you cpuld be at the FACON Education Fair in KLCC this December deciding which course to take whilst silently hoping you get aces on your actual SPM results - nagging thoughts you would rather muffle with the latest Star Wars movie or New Year's dinner party. Nerve wracking it is, change is exciting. It's a cycle that all of us operate in and that's totally fine as I've been there, too. Taking over the magazine with a fresh team of young writers was a tought experience but it was a great opportunity to decide and flesh out new ideas. Thoughts of failing trouble our minds but those are the very things that hinder us from growing. After having said that, I would encourage all of you to be recipe for change. Don't be afraid to cook up some trouble.

Book EASYUNI Ultimate University Guide 2017

Download or read book EASYUNI Ultimate University Guide 2017 written by easyuni Sdn Bhd and published by easyuni Sdn Bhd. This book was released on with total page 88 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With this issue, we chose to be rebellious. We chose to throw everything we knew from our previous Guidebooks out the window, and empower those of you whose choice of career is usually responded to with a disappointed ‘oh.’ We decided to make a special issue for you, our Creatives. Our country’s Creatives who’ve contributed to centuries of culture, art, literature, music and philosophy – and are yet scrutinised and repeatedly questioned on their decision of career. Malaysia’s Creatives: We’ve got you. Whether you’re currently pursuing the Creative Arts or on the fence about it, this Guidebook’s for you. We start off with busting the myths about the Creative Arts; the approving nod one gets, having decided to pursue the Sciences as compared to the frown and are you sures when it comes to the topic of the Arts (spoiler alert: yes, they’re all myths!). Then, we’re off to exploring some of the coolest buys and creative festivals you can find in Malaysia, as well as a handy list of the exciting companies you can intern at as a student of the Arts. What’s more, we’ve covered Courses & Careers we’ve never touched on before, to serve as useful guides as you pave your way through the Creative Arts. By the way, did you know that Iceland is a haven for the Arts as well? You can flip through our Study Abroad section for more on that! Our goal for this issue, as with every other issue, is to guide you to and through what could be some of the best years of your life, during your university years. But, as we’ve come to see, those of you hoping to pursue the Creative Arts may need a little bit of extra cheer to light the spark in you. And so came about EasyUni’s The Creative Issue. There’s a place in the world for each and every one of you, and if anyone – parents, friends, teachers – tell you any different, well, they’re quite wrong. You can quote us on that!

Book Network Meta Analysis for Decision Making

Download or read book Network Meta Analysis for Decision Making written by Sofia Dias and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2018-03-19 with total page 484 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A practical guide to network meta-analysis with examples and code In the evaluation of healthcare, rigorous methods of quantitative assessment are necessary to establish which interventions are effective and cost-effective. Often a single study will not provide the answers and it is desirable to synthesise evidence from multiple sources, usually randomised controlled trials. This book takes an approach to evidence synthesis that is specifically intended for decision making when there are two or more treatment alternatives being evaluated, and assumes that the purpose of every synthesis is to answer the question "for this pre-identified population of patients, which treatment is 'best'?" A comprehensive, coherent framework for network meta-analysis (mixed treatment comparisons) is adopted and estimated using Bayesian Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods implemented in the freely available software WinBUGS. Each chapter contains worked examples, exercises, solutions and code that may be adapted by readers to apply to their own analyses. This book can be used as an introduction to evidence synthesis and network meta-analysis, its key properties and policy implications. Examples and advanced methods are also presented for the more experienced reader. Methods used throughout this book can be applied consistently: model critique and checking for evidence consistency are emphasised. Methods are based on technical support documents produced for NICE Decision Support Unit, which support the NICE Methods of Technology Appraisal. Code presented is also the basis for the code used by the ISPOR Task Force on Indirect Comparisons. Includes extensive carefully worked examples, with thorough explanations of how to set out data for use in WinBUGS and how to interpret the output. Network Meta-Analysis for Decision Making will be of interest to decision makers, medical statisticians, health economists, and anyone involved in Health Technology Assessment including the pharmaceutical industry.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Engineering Management discipline remains complex and multidisciplinary, and has progressed and broadened in scope significantly over the last 10–20 years. Previously, the discipline has been fragmented and not aligned with the purposes of economic development, mega-project delivery, and technological progress. Digital engineering has revolutionized the field of engineering by introducing digital tools and technologies to the design, creation, operation, and maintenance of physical systems, products, and services. It has enabled more efficient, effective, and sustainable solutions, and has the potential to drive significant innovation and improve the way we design, build, and operate physical systems. This handbook addresses new content of complexity by offering new engineering concepts such as simple, complicated, and complex, which have never been included in this discipline before and will generate interest from higher education, financial institutions, and technology companies. Handbook of Engineering Management: The Digital Economy focuses on multidisciplinary integration and complex evolving systems. It discusses the incorporation of a system of systems along with engineering economic strategies for sustainable economic growth. This handbook highlights functional leadership as the main part of an engineering manager’s competency and discusses how to form alliances strategically. In addition, it presents a comprehensive guide for the implementation of an environmental management system and shows how environmental and social impacts can be assessed in an organization applying digital tools. This handbook also brings together the three important areas of Engineering Management: Knowledge Management, the Digital Economy, and Digital Manufacturing. In addition, this handbook provides a comprehensive guide to implementing an environmental management system and shows how environmental and social impacts in an organization can be assessed using digital tools. Based on the authors’ practical experience, it describes various management approaches and explains how such a system can be used to prioritize actions and resources, increase efficiency, minimize costs, and lead to better, more informed decision making. It is essential to follow a systematic approach and to ask the right questions, whether the system is managed and implemented by humans, AI, or a combination of both. This handbook is laid out in a series of simple steps and dispels the jargon and myths surrounding this important management tool.
