Book Jesus God Man Or Myth

Download or read book Jesus God Man Or Myth written by Herbert Cutner and published by Book Tree. This book was released on 2000 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Did pagan mythologies represent Christs miracles in order to convince them to accept the Christian faith? Beyond these miracles is there enough evidence to prove there was a Jesus? Cutner says no. He also says that the Apostle Paul never portrayed Jesus as a man, but as a spiritual being. To Paul, Christ is found in a spiritual sense within oneself, as opposed to being an actual historical personage. When the Church accepted Paul, this inner reflection was outwardly projected by the Church into an actual mana saviour, according to Cutner. This might be why Paul was almost rejected by the Churchhis views posed a danger to those who might rely on their own spiritual knowledge, rather than the authority of the Church. Whether Jesus lived or not, we still have a lot to learn about ourselves and our true place in the universe. This book, although critical, may be useful in that respect.

Book Jesus as the Son of Man in Mark

Download or read book Jesus as the Son of Man in Mark written by Andrés A. Tejada-Lalinde and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2019-05-27 with total page 152 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the past two millennia, scholars have been debating over what was meant by the expression ?the Son of Man, ? which was used so frequently by the itinerant Rabbi from Nazareth known as Jesus. The expression occurs 81 times in the Gospels, 77 of which come from Jesus (with two additional ones in indirect speech). Despite being used so frequently by Jesus, an explicit explanation is never given in the Gospels (or in any book of the New Testament) as to what Jesus meant by the designation of ?the Son of Man.? Nevertheless, if Jesus did use the term himself as a self-designation, examining it would perhaps allow one to gain more insight into Jesus? self-understanding. Apart from revisions that were made since 2014, this book constitutes the thesis submitted for my M.A. in Religious Studies at Florida International University in 2014. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Boundless Love of God: A Holy Spirit Story E. Stan Lennard, M.D., Sc.D. Christianity is evidence based, and this book innovatively shows concordance between Scriptural narratives and applications from the neurosciences that speak to personal interaction between the Holy Spirit and the human spirit and soul through the synaptic networks of the brain. Direct and personal communion with the Holy Spirit is restored when one accepts the New Covenant of the Gospel in repentance. It was given by the grace and boundless love of God for Man through the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus Christ. This book tells the story of the redemption of fallen mankind by the work and power of the Holy Spirit. It is a common belief in the Church that personal, direct communion from the Holy Spirit to mankind ceased at the closure of the Canon of Scripture. The information presented in this book shows that interaction between the Holy Spirit and the mind of man enabled by the human spirit is bidirectional and continues in our time. Evidence is presented from theological and scientific resources that confirms dualist interaction between the immaterial mind and the physical brain of man. It further substantiates personal, direct interaction between the Holy Spirit and the mind of human beings. The model for study used in this book is the neural synaptic network and incorporates the microsite hypothesis of Nobel laureate Sir John C. Eccles. Dualist interaction proposed by Eccles has been increasingly substantiated by contemporary theologians and investigators in the neurosciences and information theory, building on advances in quantum wave theory. The author addresses the mechanism for dualist interaction involving probabilistic quantum tunneling across synaptic clefts. Specified information with meaning and purpose actualized within neural codes is transmitted within spike trains of action potentials distributed through synaptic networks. The trigger for initiating spike trains is postulated as an immaterial energy source by which the Holy Spirit communicates with the mind of man. Through a lifetime of learning archived in memory, the cognitive mind of humans interprets neural codes enabled by their unique capacity for language. Communication from the Holy Spirit or other human minds as senders to human minds as recipients draws upon current understandings of information theory. Evidence presented in this book provides a compelling rationale for the reality of bidirectional communion with the living, personal Holy Spirit in our time. That Jesus Christ indwells those who accept his truth as a personal, living Spirit is confirmation of the promise in John 14:15–21. Interaction with God by his atoning grace through Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit gives receptive mankind hope and counsel today and into eternity to His glory.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For those who truly desire a comprehensive understanding of the exigency of the incarnation, centrality of the cross and the sine qua non of the resurrection...This is a must read! Dr. Williams brilliantly weaves together orthodox theology with practical application resulting in a work meaty enough for the scholar yet digestible and building for the everyday church goer. -- Bishop Donald Clay, Petra International Ministries, Pittsburg, PA This book is an important contribution to the 21st century Christian community. It presents a strong unapologetic biblical methodical argument of The God Man, Jesus, based on Scripture with strong visual illustrations. As such, ministers and lay persons would greatly appreciate and benefit biblically and theologically in regards to the natures and function of The God Man. Therefore, I strongly encourage and recommend everyone to read this book which presents a clear succinct understanding of The God Man. ""De Lafayette Awkward, Princeton Theological Seminary (M.Div. & Th.M), Hebrew University of Jerusalem (ABD), Pastor of New Lots Community Church, Reformed Church in America In 451 the Council of Chalcedon meet and confirmed that Christ had two natures: one divine and the other human. Over the centuries the concept of the "God Man" has confused, intrigued and escaped the logic of theologians, preachers, and students. In his book "The God-Man", Elder J. D. Williams seeks to explain his concept through comprehensive exploration and exposition. Elder Williams has provided an excellent text that includes research, sermons and illustrations that are designed to enlighten the mind, while providing further dialogue among those who wish to gain a deeper understanding of the term the "God-Man". --Rev. Dr. Carl L. Washington, Jr. Pastor, New Mount Zion Baptist Church Former Moderator, United Missionary Baptist Association President, Empire Baptist Missionary Convention Dr. J. D. Williams is a profound pedagogue who's deep and contemplative studies are captured within these pages. His insightful perspective regarding the revelation of the mystery between God and Christ is a must read for all in search of a more weighty theological enlightenment. -- Bishop Eric R. Figueroa, Sr. Presiding Prelate, New Life Covenant Fellowship Senior Pastor, New Life Tabernacle

Download or read book Christ the Arbiter written by Harold Malwah and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2000-07-27 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christ the Arbiter is a compelling treatise on the relationship between the New and Old Testaments. It takes the position that the rituals contained in the Old Testament are no longer applicable to the “born again” Christian. This book provides analysis and spiritual guidance to help readers critically examine their beliefs and understand how the Holy Spirit can help them unify their beliefs. With so many conflicting doctrines confronting the Christian today, it is useful to have a book like Christ the Arbiter. It will provide readers harmony and understanding through revelation by the Holy Spirit. It's primary goal is to help “born again” Christians become one with Christ and maintain their position as sons and daughters of God as they seek eternal life through Jesus Christ. Harold Malwah is a native of Trinidad, West Indies. Educated in London, he lived and worked there as an electrician. He is an avid student of the Bible. His book, Christ The Arbiter, is a product of years of spiritual pursuits and an openness to guidance from the Holy Spirit.

Book The Mediation of Christ

Download or read book The Mediation of Christ written by Thomas Forsyth Torrance and published by . This book was released on 1983 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In "The Mediation of Christ," Thomas F. Torrance (Professor Emeritus of Christian Dogmatics at the University of Edinburgh) sets forth a devotional theology of the atoning work of Christ in: the mediation of revelation, the mediation of reconciliation, the person of the mediator, the mediation of Christ in our human response, and the atonement and the Holy Trinity. This important 2nd edition adds a foreword addressing the reality of unconditional grace in relation to "the integrity of the response we are called to make in repentance for sin and in acceptance of Jesus Christ as our personal Savior." Also added to this edition is a new final chapter, which further addresses the centrality of the Trinity in the atonement.

Book excerpt: John Knox was derided in his day for being too much of an Old Testament prophet. The caricature drawn may have been correct had it not been for the overwhelming idolatry and superstition that then pervaded the professing church of the 16th century. But so it was that darkness covered with its veil the eyes of the ignorant, that their eyes should be holden from steadfastly looking upon Jesus Christ the Righteous. Thus these poor souls beheld only the forms and traditions of the ecclesiastical body in which Satan then reigned as usurper; and, in consequence, they were shut up to the gospel promises by this works-righteousness offered them. It was into this scene which the character Knox appeared - with all his thundering judgments. Knox, filled with the Spirit, came convinced of the evil disease that had taken fast hold upon his nation of Scotland and of the prescription needed to see an end of the darkness. Thus he was not too much an Old testament prophet. He came amourning because there was something to be lamented in the church of the day. Carnal men, who are at all times at home and happy in this world, will never understand the likes of Knox. My question to the reader is: how shall the church today arise from the ashes in which she lies? We who have drunk the moral anesthetic called, in our day, the gospel - how shall we awake? Declension has brought us back to another dark age, where the prophet and priest are just as profane as they were in Knox's day and the people are as ignorant as they were then too; thus we need another reformation. Not a return to the doctrine of Calvin or Arminius, but to the apostles' doctrine! When immersed in the darkness of sleep, it never feels pleasant to at once be aroused by the blazing shock of harsh white lights. And so, it is rarely pleasing to be so awakened from such sinful slumber by the call of fiery preaching. We have, ad infinitum, sermons, books, classes, and whole conferences devoted to the fear of God - and yet we have not employed the knowledge we've acquired. The very thing we need most is the very thing we cannot acquire! How shall we attain unto the fear of God, that we may "serve him acceptably" (Heb. 12:28)? It's time we stop giving assignments to our keynote speakers, and wait upon God! Surely if God assigned a man to the task, we would learn our lesson aright! We need a man who has been taken down to the third hell - a man who has ascended up the burning mount! How could the Ninevites resist such irresistible preaching from a man who came fresh from hell (see, Jon. 2:2)? I believe God's found a man. Reader, will you hear? - Jake Gardner
