Book A Sudden Glory

  • Author : Sharon Jaynes
  • Publisher : Multnomah
  • Release : 2012-08-21
  • ISBN : 1601424086
  • Pages : 242 pages

Download or read book A Sudden Glory written by Sharon Jaynes and published by Multnomah. This book was released on 2012-08-21 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you long for something more in your relationship with God? The good news is that “something more” does not mean “doing more.” God is not waiting for you to get your spiritual life “right.” He wants to be with you right where you are. The real question is not “What does God want from you?” but “What does God want for you?” Sharon Jaynes understands what it’s like to have a “glory ache”—a longing to experience God’s presence on a daily basis. She also knows how easily working for God can get in the way of intimacy with God. And she’s discovered that we tend to make our faith journey much too hard. In A Sudden Glory, Sharon uses Scripture and story to help you erase the line between your “spiritual life” and your “daily life” as you enter the sanctuary of God’s presence even in the middle of your busy, messy day. Here you will find your eyes opened to moments of sudden glory in which the Creator assures you of His love as you live and move and have your being in Him. Here you will discover true freedom—the freedom of experiencing God in a deeper and more intimate way than ever before. Includes Bible study and discussion guide.

Book Remembering Sharon

  • Author : Nick Pelino, Jr.
  • Publisher : Trafford Publishing

  • ISBN : 1466946490
  • Pages : 55 pages

Download or read book Remembering Sharon written by Nick Pelino, Jr. and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2012-07-17 with total page 55 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Remembering Sharon is a play Nick wishes did not have to be written. It is a personal story. Sharon iswas a friend, even after all these years, it is still difficult to write. Putting Sharon in the past tense is not easy. This project, talking about this project, considering this project, wondering about it, planning it, thinking about it, outlining it, and shaping it has kept Sharon in my present for many years since her death, her murder. I dont like that reality. I often wonder what her life might have been how we may have grown as friends. Would we have grown closer or drifted apart? Friends do that. I have stayed close with the rest of her family. Was that because of her murder? Did her death bond us more significantly? These things, all these things became the foundation for Remembering Sharon. How can empathy be shown? Can it be shown? Should it be shown? What is tasteful? Is that really my job as a playwright? In past works that dealt with unsolved crime, Sharon was my silent motivation. It didnt quite get the word out as forcefully as I wanted my Hall-Mills play was a Hall-Mills play. I am still OK with that. I seemed to have a knack for this kind of thing. I brought up Sharon in every interview, but good writers stuck to the main subject. I had to accept the best way to bring attention to Sharon was to write about Sharon. Remember Sharon! So with this play, I am remembering Sharon. As audiences are told very quickly, Sharon was my friend who disappeared from her home two days before her sixteenth birthday in 1982. She was found murdered in a wooded area only a few yards away from her family home. Remembering Sharon is probably not just a play; it is an experience. It is a hope for an opportunity for a community to come together to talk about this loss and perhaps bring a resolution to this unsolved murder in contemporary 2012. It may also serve as a reminder to all of us that we must take care of our loved ones and talk talk! Talk about safety and common sense issues about safety and crime prevention and a better awareness of how we can keep ourselves and children safe!

Book Sharon

    Book Details:
  • Author : Wilbur W. Witt
  • Publisher : iUniverse
  • Release : 1999-12
  • ISBN : 158348700X
  • Pages : 234 pages

Download or read book Sharon written by Wilbur W. Witt and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 1999-12 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: John Woodward is a young, dynamic, revivalist minister. He finds himself on the last leg of his summer tour, winding up the revivals in a small midwestern town. The first night of this last revival of the season brings him into contact with a girl. She invites him to come to her church and discuss his faith, ideas, and the Bible. What comes next leads John, and the reader, through an experience that is two thousand years old. What begins as a simple discussion of faith uncovers layers of religious ideas that John (and most of us) have lived with all of our lives. The girl (Sharon) sits in her garden and teaches John the meaning of life, and it is not what he expects it to be. Over the next five days John begins to unravel the mystery of the ages. He spends the rest of his life in this understanding. The young lady goes away after the revival, and John spends his life in solitude, serving, not being served. Sharon is not your typical "religious" book. You will find things in it that will frankly surprise you. If you are looking for "raptures" or "second comings" you will not find them here. What you will find in Sharon is a message that is two thousand years old, and you will find a message that is as new as the New Age Crystal shop down at the mall. In the same vein as the movie, Stigmata, the book is filled with mystic insights going back to the beginnings of Christianity, and beyond to other faiths. Sharon will not destroy your faith, it will build it; it will make it alive! Be sure to buy two copies of this book, because this is one you will want to give to a friend. The opening of this book is a visionary scene that challenges the reader, and the last page will shake you down to the core. Sharon is a must for this next century!
