Book I m Not Done

Download or read book I m Not Done written by Patti Temple Rocks and published by . This book was released on 2019-01-23 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When it comes to discrimination in the workplace, we've come a long way as a society. But there's still one systemically ignored form of discrimination that happens all the time, and it affects everyone: ageism. Ageism is real. It's widespread, insidious, and up until now, it's been largely hidden, due to the low rate of reporting from those who are pushed out of their jobs when they reach a certain age. With the largest demographic America has ever seen-baby boomers-now experiencing age discrimination at work, it's time to talk about this deeply hurtful and bad-for-business practice. In I'm Not Done, Patti Temple Rocks takes a deep dive into ageism in the workplace-what it looks like, how it harms people and businesses alike, and how business leaders can get on the right side of the issue. Patti's story, and the stories of those like her, create a powerful declaration and a movement to stop this last remnant of workplace discrimination in its tracks: #ImNotDone!

Book Most Evil Is Done by Good People Who Do Not Know That They Are Not Good

Download or read book Most Evil Is Done by Good People Who Do Not Know That They Are Not Good written by Ferd L. Wagner and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2010-05 with total page 446 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book takes the view that Christian truth is the basis for all answers to social issues and that there are not two opposing but equal answers within Christian truth that are equally valid and equally acceptable to God. Any so called truth or "right" that circumvents or undercuts the required sacrifices, disciplines and self denial demanded by God in any given social or moral issue ceases to be truth, ceases to be right the moment it becomes a force unto itself, outside of or independent of the Scripturally required obedience. Human history has shown over the millennia that when the letter and spirit of God's laws are not obeyed, the truth is abused, nations become confused and people are used. Many of our political and social issues are rooted in our misplaced belief that tolerance, inclusion, equal respect for unequal truth and live and let live is the way to greater peace and prosperity. They are all wrong. Each individual, government and nation is judged by their response to Christ. The Christian nation or one which ascribes to being one, is tasked to set the Christian standard as every nation's point of reference. It is the Christian's duty to show that the valid rule of God's law, the letter of God's law and the spirit of God's law are superior to any other alternative standard. The biggest obstacle to Christianity today is the undisciplined, misinformed and unfaithful lifestyles of professing Christians. The Church has become so indoctrinated in its aversion to any form of discrimination that it has placed a higher priority on keeping the peace by compromising than by keeping the truth by discriminating. By accepting a false peace and rejecting a hard truth that resists compromise, it begets neither peace nor truth.

He is such a big yet wonderful God, with purpose for every life He creates. Book You re Not Done Yet

Download or read book You re Not Done Yet written by Dr. B. Janet Hibbs and published by St. Martin's Press. This book was released on 2024-03-26 with total page 235 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A clear-eyed, optimistic guide for parents with adult children who need help navigating the challenges to launching an independent life. Times were already tough for young adults looking for ways to start living independent lives after high school and college: rents were up, wages were down, student loan debt was burdensome, then the Covid-19 pandemic hit. A generation of young people were forced out of their classrooms, jobs, and social lives, returning home to live with their parents. Now many of these young adults carry the scars of the internal pandemic, with increased anxiety and depression, poor coping, and the uncertainty of how to restart their lives. Parents want to help, but the old rules of advice-giving can clash with the need to respect their child’s autonomy. In You’re Not Done Yet, two leading adolescent and young adult mental health experts provide a practical and compassionate path to parents combatting the worry and frustrating isolation many feel when supporting their twentysomethings. Hibbs and Rostain explain when and how developmental markers changed, and invite parents and young adults to learn new, more effective ways of communicating with each other. Part I of the book covers the “new normal,” of young adulthood, with its educational and career changes. The new normal of parent-child relationship asks us to rethink our “shoulds,” and in the process develop a closer relationship based on talking and listening to understand each other, rather than “being right.” Part II addresses the common and challenging problems that arise when mental illness creates a drag on a young adult’s progress, and shows how parents may be engaged in their child’s treatment. Packed with helpful information and step-by-step guides to specific problems, this book will be an invaluable resource for parents and their twentysomething children.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nine amazing stories of faith that give us hope for our own challenging setbacks. We all experience setbacks and disappointments in life. Sometimes those setbacks become entire seasons of life. Businesses fail, relationships falter, discouragement and doubts set in and circumstances overwhelm us. This book uses nine amazing "comeback stories" from the Bible to show how God provides everything needed to get through challenging setbacks. Rather than showing people overcoming hardship through simple grit, the stories of Moses, David, Abigail, Esther, Joseph, Jonah, Elijah, Hezekiah and Peter tell of extraordinary changes of heart and how God works in all things for the good of those who love him. Readers will be given a new perspective on their struggles and will be encouraged to trust God in them. Author John Meador uses his 35 years of Bible-teaching ministry, as well as his own experience of suffering permanent hearing loss, to write with faithfulness, compassion and authenticity. He says: “These stories are real-life events that often brought more drama, heartbreak and tragedy, and had more at stake than most any other situations in history. They show us greater and more meaningful outcomes than we can possibly imagine.” This is a great book for anyone looking for answers to life’s challenges. It is a useful ministry resource for pastors and church leaders searching for stories of faith to encourage others. Coming back from regrets, adversity, hopelessness, discouragement, anger, moral failure, disillusionment, physical crisis, grief and oppression are some of the themes covered.

Book excerpt: Nones claim no religion. Dones have become disillusioned and left the church. Research shows many young adults are landing in one of these camps. But that's not the end of the story. Many emerging adults, ages eighteen to thirty-three, are tossing aside the none and done labels and are instead embracing a transformative Christian faith. Based on her extensive research, scholar-practitioner Beth Seversen outlines a model for how to engage and retain millennials and Generation Z in the life of the local church. Emerging adults are likely to experience spiritual transformation in churches that welcome them into community, provide meaningful opportunities to make a difference, and invest in their development. Whether you're a senior pastor or a youth minister, a parent or an educator, Not Done Yet will open your eyes to the generational barriers to vibrant faith while equipping you with insights to make your outreach to emerging adults more authentic and impactful.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “We Start At Finish” unpacks the message of the victory that God secured for humanity through one incredible moment of triumph at the cross. Jesus Christ paid a price that was more than sufficient to reposition mankind to live life according to God’s original design for man. He redeemed our innocence and restored the glory we lost in Adam. The gospel communicates the desire of Jesus Christ’s to showcase humanity as a trophy of His grace! However so many good Christian people continue to live in a way that reinforces the conviction that we are responsible for our own salvation. Man – in his fallen state – is never going to get it right on his own. Performance based, two-faced, ungraced Christianity is debilitating. Our assignment has never been about what we can do for God, but what God has done for us. We really start at the finish. If you as a Christ follower are tired of trying to be good, worrying about eternity and earning your way to Christ’s love, this book is liberating. Discovering that you are not an after-thought in God’s mind as far as the gospel is concerned changes how you view yourself and places you in a new space of flourishing in the course of living.
