Prophet Ayyub AS (Job) lived in Rome (Rum) with his dear wife Rahma and fourteen children. Ayyub was a Prophet who was immensely blessed by Allah SWT (God) he was strong and healthy, had large plots of land, abundant livestock, and a righteous and beautiful family; he was also a community leader who was highly respected and loved by his people. Despite his status and wealth, Prophet Ayyub AS (Job) was never arrogant; he was always humble, he readily helped the deprived, and constantly thanked and glorified Allah SWT (God) for everything he was blessed with. One day, high up in the heavens, the angels (malaikah) began discussing about the best of humans who lived on earth. An angel amongst them said, "The best creature on earth today is Prophet Ayyub AS (Job), a man of noble character who displays great patience and always remembers his Generous Lord. He is an excellent model for the worshippers of Allah SWT (God). In return, his Lord has blessed him with a long life and plenty of servants; the needy and the poor share in his good fortune-- he feeds and clothes the poor and buys slaves to set them free. He makes those who receive his charity feel as if they are favouring him-- so kind and gentle is he." Iblis (Satan), who was in the vicinity, overhead the discussion and became very angry. He immediately began plotting to lure Prophet Ayyub AS away from the worship of Allah SWT (God). He whispered evil thoughts to Ayyub about the many pleasures of life that a man such as Ayyub could easily enjoy; but the Prophet was a sincere servant of Allah SWT and was not easily faltered. Prophet Ayyub AS (Hiob) war ein Nachkomme des Propheten Ibrahim AS (Abraham). Ayyubs Mutter war die Tochter des Propheten Luth AS und seine Frau war eine direkte Nachfahrin des Propheten Yusuf AS. Prophet Ayyub AS (Hiob) lebte in Rom (Rum) mit seiner lieben Frau Rahma und vierzehn Kindern. Ayyub war ein Prophet, der von Allah, dem Erhabenen, unermesslich gesegnet war. Er war stark und gesund, besaß große Ländereien, reichlich Vieh und eine rechtschaffene und schöne Familie; er war auch ein Gemeindeleiter, der von seinem Volk hoch geachtet und geliebt wurde. Trotz seines Status und seines Reichtums war Prophet Ayyub AS (Hiob) niemals arrogant; er war immer bescheiden, half bereitwillig den Bedürftigen und dankte und pries Allah SWT (Gott) ständig für alles, womit er gesegnet war.

Book excerpt: In the nineteenth century, the Russian Empire's Middle Volga region (today's Tatarstan) was the site of a prolonged struggle between Russian Orthodoxy and Islam, each of which sought to solidify its influence among the frontier's mix of Turkic, Finno-Ugric, and Slavic peoples. The immediate catalyst of the events that Agnes Nilufer Kefeli chronicles in Becoming Muslim in Imperial Russia was the collective turn to Islam by many of the region's Krashens, the Muslim and animist Tatars who converted to Russian Orthodoxy between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries.The traditional view holds that the apostates had really been Muslim all along or that their conversions had been forced by the state or undertaken voluntarily as a matter of convenience. In Kefeli’s view, this argument vastly oversimplifies the complexity of a region where many participated in the religious cultures of both Islam and Orthodox Christianity and where a vibrant Krashen community has survived to the present. By analyzing Russian, Eurasian, and Central Asian ethnographic, administrative, literary, and missionary sources, Kefeli shows how traditional education, with Sufi mystical components, helped to Islamize Finno-Ugric and Turkic peoples in the Kama-Volga countryside and set the stage for the development of modernist Islam in Russia.Of particular interest is Kefeli’s emphasis on the role that Tatar women (both Krashen and Muslim) played as holders and transmitters of Sufi knowledge. Today, she notes, intellectuals and mullahs in Tatarstan seek to revive both Sufi and modernist traditions to counteract new expressions of Islam and promote a purely Tatar Islam aware of its specificity in a post-Christian and secular environment.

It is an impassioned attempt to contrast the "immaculate preservation" of the Qurʼān with the alterations in the transmission of the text of the Bible, both the Old and the New Testament. The author barely refrains from making the charge that Jews and Christians corrupted the Scriptures the primary theme of his work. Rather, his primary aim is to question the motives of Western scholarship which are described as "continuously undermining Islam's Holy Book." For this reason, he attempts a Muslim scholarly response to popular Western perceptions that question the Muslims' capacity to defend the integrity of the Qurʼān. This polemic approach yields some interesting and at times instructive research, yet comes short of entirely reliable conclusions.
