Book Liquid gas Phase Transition and Coulomb Instability of Asymmetric Nuclear Systems

Download or read book Liquid gas Phase Transition and Coulomb Instability of Asymmetric Nuclear Systems written by and published by . This book was released on 2005 with total page 207 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We use a chiral SU(3) quark mean field model to study the properties of nuclear systems at finite temperature. The liquid-gas phase transition of symmetric and asymmetric nuclear matter is discussed. For two formulations of the model the critical temperature, T{sub c}, for symmetric nuclear matter is found to be 15.8 MeV and 17.9 MeV. These values are consistent with those derived from recent experiments. The limiting temperatures for finite nuclei are in good agreement with the experimental points.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dramatic progress has been made in all branches of physics since the National Research Council's 1986 decadal survey of the field. The Physics in a New Era series explores these advances and looks ahead to future goals. The series includes assessments of the major subfields and reports on several smaller subfields, and preparation has begun on an overview volume on the unity of physics, its relationships to other fields, and its contributions to national needs. Nuclear Physics is the latest volume of the series. The book describes current activity in understanding nuclear structure and symmetries, the behavior of matter at extreme densities, the role of nuclear physics in astrophysics and cosmology, and the instrumentation and facilities used by the field. It makes recommendations on the resources needed for experimental and theoretical advances in the coming decade.

Book Lecture Notes on Phase Transformations in Nuclear Matter

Download or read book Lecture Notes on Phase Transformations in Nuclear Matter written by Jorge Alberto L¢pez and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2000 with total page 142 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The atomic nucleus, despite of being one of the smallest objects found in nature, appears to be large enough to experience phase transitions. In general, nuclear matter is believed to have liquid and gaseous phases as well as interesting combinations of them. This book reviews what is known theoretically and experimentally about these phases of nuclear matter and the mechanisms inducing transformations between them. Current theoretical models describing nuclear reactions at intermediate energies are presented, and, in particular, phenomenological techniques of analysis used in heavy-ion reaction are described for the benefit of the practitioners in the field.

This book was released on 1986-10-01 with total page 554 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book seeks to present a comprehensive review of Singapore's ICT Masterplans in education, providing a rare behind-the-scenes look at policy planning, as well as the lessons learnt and insights gained from the past decade of the use of ICT in teaching and learning. Since 1997 (when the First Masterplan was launched) to 2008, schools and teachers have made great strides in their use of ICT for education at all levels: primary, secondary and junior college. The seeds of this change were planted in the Pioneer Years (1980-1996) which marked the pre-Masterplan period, and they began to germinate in the momentous Foundation Years (1997-2002) when the First Masterplan got underway. The subsequent period of the Engaging Years (2003-2008) outlines the growth of the Second Masterplan, while the Future Years present the vision of what the future of ICT will look like in Singapore schools in 2009 and beyond. This comprehensive coverage of the evolution of ICT use in Singapore schools includes views and reflections from key individuals involved in the planning and implementation of the two ICT Masterplans, students, teachers, ICT experts, and policy makers. It also includes articles detailing significant projects and programmes of the First and Second ICT Masterplans.

Book Multifragmentation in Heavy Ion Reactions

Download or read book Multifragmentation in Heavy Ion Reactions written by Rajeev K. Puri and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2023-10-26 with total page 458 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a collection of reviews of some of the recent developments in nuclear physics research at intermediate energies from across the globe. It especially focuses on the most essential aspects, such as multifragmentation and associated phenomena in nuclear collisions, with the incident energy region between a few MeV and several hundreds of MeV/nucleon. The topic of the book—multifragmentation—was chosen based on the fact that all heavy-ion collisions revolve around a fragmenting system, which is also thought to have a link to phase transitions. One unique and valuable dimension of this book is that it has brought together the research of several experts working in the field of intermediate energy heavy-ion collisions in various renowned laboratories of the world. It provides a thorough review of the recent developments in various related phenomena, especially multifragmentation, observed at the intermediate-energy range, both theoretically and experimentally. It extensively discusses the concept of nuclear symmetry energy, which is important for the nuclear physics and astrophysics communities. In addition, the book identifies potential research directions and technologies that will drive future innovations. It will serve as a valuable reference for a larger audience, including students who wish to pursue a career in nuclear physics and astrophysics.

Book Advances in Nuclear Dynamics 5

Download or read book Advances in Nuclear Dynamics 5 written by Wolfgang Bauer and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: th This workshop was the 15 in a series that addresses the subject of the dynamics of nuclear reactions. These workshops are dedicated to the concept that bringing together scientists from diverse areas of nuclear reactions promotes the vibrant exchange of ideas. This workshop hosted presentations from experimentalists and theorists, intermediate energy to ultrarelativistic energies, and final results to recent speculations. Many of these scientists would not normally be exposed to the work done in other subfields. Thus the Winter Workshop on Nuclear Dynamics plays a unique role in information exchange and the stimulation of new ides. The field of nuclear dynamics has a bright future. New accelerators are being planned and completed around the world. New detectors are being constructed. New models and theories are being developed to describe these phenomena. The Winter Workshop on Nuclear Dynamics will continue to promote this lively and compelling field of research. WOLFGANG BAUER AND GARY D. WESTFALL v Previous Workshops The following table contains a list of the dates and locations of the previous Winter Workshops on Nuclear Dynamics as well as the members of the organizing committees. The chairpersons of the conferences are underlined.
