Book Irreducible Tensor Methods

Download or read book Irreducible Tensor Methods written by Brian L. Silver and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2013-09-17 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Irreducible Tensor Methods: An Introduction for Chemists explains the theory and application of irreducible tensor operators. The book discusses a compact formalism to describe the effect that results on an arbitrary function of a given set of coordinates when that set is subjected to a rotation about its origin. The text also explains the concept of irreducible tensor operators, particularly, as regards the transformation properties of operators under coordinate transformations, and, in a special way, the group of rotations. The book examines the systematic construction of compound tensor operators from simple operators to classify the behavior of any operator under coordinate rotations. This classification is a significant component of the irreducible tensor method. The text explains the use of the 6-j and 9-j symbols to complete theoretical concepts that are applied in irreducible tensor methods dealing with problems of atomic and molecular physics. The book describes the matrix elements in multielectron systems, as well as the reduced matrix elements found in these systems. The book is suitable for nuclear physicists, molecular physicists, scientists, and academicians in the field of quantum mechanics or advanced chemistry.

Book Theory and Computation of Complex Tensors and its Applications

Download or read book Theory and Computation of Complex Tensors and its Applications written by Maolin Che and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-04-01 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book provides an introduction of very recent results about the tensors and mainly focuses on the authors' work and perspective. A systematic description about how to extend the numerical linear algebra to the numerical multi-linear algebra is also delivered in this book. The authors design the neural network model for the computation of the rank-one approximation of real tensors, a normalization algorithm to convert some nonnegative tensors to plane stochastic tensors and a probabilistic algorithm for locating a positive diagonal in a nonnegative tensors, adaptive randomized algorithms for computing the approximate tensor decompositions, and the QR type method for computing U-eigenpairs of complex tensors. This book could be used for the Graduate course, such as Introduction to Tensor. Researchers may also find it helpful as a reference in tensor research.

Book Gyros Clocks Interferometers Testing Relativistic Gravity in Space

Download or read book Gyros Clocks Interferometers Testing Relativistic Gravity in Space written by C. Lämmerzahl and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-09-04 with total page 507 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many new tests of gravity and, in particular, of Einstein's general relativity theory will be carried out in the near future: The Lense--Thirring effect and the equivalence principle will be tested in space; moreover, gravitational waves will be detected, and new atomic interferometers and clocks will be built for measurements in gravitational and inertial fields. New high-precision devices have made these experiments feasible. They will contribute to a better understanding of gravitational physics. Both experimental developments and the theoretical concepts are collected in this volume. Exhaustive reviews give an overall insight into the subject of experimental gravitation.

Book Tensor Analysis

  • Author : Liqun Qi
  • Publisher : SIAM
  • Release : 2017-04-19
  • ISBN : 1611974747
  • Pages : 313 pages

Download or read book Tensor Analysis written by Liqun Qi and published by SIAM. This book was released on 2017-04-19 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tensors, or hypermatrices, are multi-arrays with more than two indices. In the last decade or so, many concepts and results in matrix theory?some of which are nontrivial?have been extended to tensors and have a wide range of applications (for example, spectral hypergraph theory, higher order Markov chains, polynomial optimization, magnetic resonance imaging, automatic control, and quantum entanglement problems). The authors provide a comprehensive discussion of this new theory of tensors. Tensor Analysis: Spectral Theory and Special Tensors is unique in that it is the first book on these three subject areas: spectral theory of tensors; the theory of special tensors, including nonnegative tensors, positive semidefinite tensors, completely positive tensors, and copositive tensors; and the spectral hypergraph theory via tensors. ?

Download or read book Quarkonia written by W. Buchmüller and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 327 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The discovery of the two families of heavy-quark-antiquark bound states, the &Ugr; and &PSgr; quarkonium spectroscopies, has played a crucial role in unravelling the nature of strong interactions. The articles collected together in this volume are concerned with the connection between quarkonia and quantum chromodynamics. They deal with potential models, spin-dependent forces, next-to-leading order QCD corrections for decay widths and energy level differences, hadronic transitions and the quark-antiquark interaction in QCD, based on perturbation theory, lattice gauge theory and QCD sum rules. Finally, a brief guide is given to the existing literature on possible new quarkonium systems which have been conjectured in connection with gluonic degrees of freedom, and with expectations for new heavy particles with colour, such as the top quark and scalar quarks.
