Book Classical Circuit Theory

Download or read book Classical Circuit Theory written by Omar Wing and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2008-09-18 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Classical circuit theory is a mathematical theory of linear, passive circuits, namely, circuits composed of resistors, capacitors and inductors. Like many a thing classical, it is old and enduring, structured and precise, simple and elegant. It is simple in that everything in it can be deduced from ?rst principles based on a few physical laws. It is enduring in that the things we can say about linear, passive circuits are universally true, unchanging. No matter how complex a circuit may be, as long as it consists of these three kinds of elements, its behavior must be as prescribed by the theory. The theory tells us what circuits can and cannot do. As expected of any good theory, classical circuit theory is also useful. Its ulti mate application is circuit design. The theory leads us to a design methodology that is systematic and precise. It is based on just two fundamental theorems: that the impedance function of a linear, passive circuit is a positive real function, and that the transfer function is a bounded real function, of a complex variable.

Book A Short History of Circuits and Systems

Download or read book A Short History of Circuits and Systems written by Franco Maloberti and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2024-09-27 with total page 463 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After an overview of major scientific discoveries of the 18th and 19th centuries, which created electrical science as we know and understand it and led to its useful applications in energy conversion, transmission, manufacturing industry and communications, this Circuits and Systems History book fills a gap in published literature by providing a record of the many outstanding scientists, mathematicians and engineers who laid the foundations of Circuit Theory and Filter Design from the mid-20th Century. Additionally, the book records the history of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society from its origins as the small Circuit Theory Group of the Institute of Radio Engineers (IRE), which merged with the American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE) to form IEEE in 1963, to the large and broad-coverage worldwide IEEE Society which it is today. This second edition, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Circuits and Systems Society, builds upon the first edition's success by expanding the scope of specific chapters, introducing new topics of relevance, and integrating feedback from readers and experts in the field, reflecting the evolving landscape of Circuits and Systems alongside the evolution of the professional society. Many authors from many countries contributed to the creation of this book, working to a very tight time schedule. The result is a substantial contribution to their enthusiasm and expertise, which it is hoped readers will find both interesting and useful. It is certain that in such a book, omission will be found, and in the space and time available, much valuable material had to be left out. It is hoped that this book will stimulate an interest in the marvelous heritage and contributions of the many outstanding people who worked in the Circuits and Systems area.

Book RF and Microwave Circuits Measurements and Modeling

Download or read book RF and Microwave Circuits Measurements and Modeling written by Mike Golio and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-10-08 with total page 772 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Highlighting the challenges RF and microwave circuit designers face in their day-to-day tasks, RF and Microwave Circuits, Measurements, and Modeling explores RF and microwave circuit designs in terms of performance and critical design specifications. The book discusses transmitters and receivers first in terms of functional circuit block and then examines each block individually. Separate articles consider fundamental amplifier issues, low noise amplifiers, power amplifiers for handset applications and high power, power amplifiers. Additional chapters cover other circuit functions including oscillators, mixers, modulators, phase locked loops, filters and multiplexers. New chapters discuss high-power PAs, bit error rate testing, and nonlinear modeling of heterojunction bipolar transistors, while other chapters feature new and updated material that reflects recent progress in such areas as high-volume testing, transmitters and receivers, and CAD tools. The unique behavior and requirements associated with RF and microwave systems establishes a need for unique and complex models and simulation tools. The required toolset for a microwave circuit designer includes unique device models, both 2D and 3D electromagnetic simulators, as well as frequency domain based small signal and large signal circuit and system simulators. This unique suite of tools requires a design procedure that is also distinctive. This book examines not only the distinct design tools of the microwave circuit designer, but also the design procedures that must be followed to use them effectively.
