Cada capítulo constituye una reflexión focalizada en el juego entre dos o, en su caso, tres de esos elementos. Los diferentes capítulos aportan una mirada nacional e internacional, aproximándonos también al contexto iberoamericano, ya que el currículo basado en competencias se presenta como un desafío global. La implantación del enfoque STEM dentro del currículo por competencias nos acerca a la necesidad de dar respuesta a los objetivos primordiales de las líneas estratégicas de la Unión Europea en cuanto a desarrollo educativo. Otro objetivo que no debemos olvidar es educar en la era digital, y para ello es imprescindible que los educadores utilicen métodos y técnicas pedagógicas para responder a las necesidades educativas y comunicativas, adaptadas a las condiciones de las nuevas realidades socioeducativas.

Su concepción partió de la contradicción que se genera entre la concepción lineal tradicional sustentada en el proceso de formación de habilidades profesionales y la necesidad de sustentar dicha formación en concepciones más integradoras y totalizadoras a partir del enfoque de la formación laboral por competencias, según las exigencias establecidas en el Nuevo Modelo Educativo de la Escuela Politécnica Cubana. La metodología fue concebida sobre la base del modelo de la lógica esencial de la profesión propuesto por Fuentes y Mestre (1998) y está dirigida a adecuar los actuales programas de Asignaturas Técnicas a partir del enfoque basado en la formación laboral por competencias.

Over the years, acceptance researchers have become more interested in understanding the factors influencing the adoption of technologies in various settings. From the literature, much research has been done to understand technology acceptance in the business contexts. This is understandable, given the close relationship between the appropriate uses of technology and profit margin. In most of the acceptance studies, researchers have sought to identify and understand the forces that shape users’ acceptance so as to influence the design and implementation process in ways to avoid or minimize resistance or rejection when users interact with technology. Traditionally, it has been observed that developers and procurers of technological resources could rely on authority to ensure that technology was used, which is true in many industrial and organizational contexts. However, with the increasing demands for educational applications of information technology and changing working practices, there is s need to re-examine user acceptance issues as they emerge within and outside of the contexts in which technology was implemented. This is true in the education milieu where teachers exercise the autonomy to decide on what and how technology will be used for teaching and learning purposes. Although they are guided by national and local policies to use technology in the classrooms, teachers spent much of their planning time to consider how technology could be harnessed for effective lesson delivery and assessment to be conducted. These circumstances have provided the impetus for researchers to study technology acceptance in educational settings. Although these studies have typically involved students and teachers as participants, their findings have far-reaching implications for school leaders, policy makers, and other stakeholders. The book is a critical and specialized source that describes recent research on technology acceptance in education represented by educators and researchers from around the world such as Australia, Belgium, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, United Kingdom, and United States of America.

Many of the authors who have contributed to this text could not attend the symposium. so this has become another vehicle for the rapidly growing discipline of Fragmentation Science among primatologists. Fragmentation has quickly become a field separate from general ecology. which underscores the severity of the situation since we as a planet are rapidly losing habitat of all types to human disturbance. Getting ecologists. particularly primatologists. to admit that they study in fragments is not easy. In the field of primatology. one studies many things. but rarely do those things (genetics. behavior. population dynamics) get called out as studies in fragmentation. For some reason "fragmentation primatologists" fear that our work is somehow "not as good" as those who study in continuous habitat. We worry that perhaps our subjects are not demonstrating as robust behaviors as they "should" given fragmented or disturbed habitat conditions. I had a colleague openly state that she did not work in fragmented forests. that she merely studied behavior when it was clear that her study sites. everyone of them. was isolated habitat. Our desire to be just another link in the data chain for wild primates is so strong that it makes us deny what kinds of habitats we are working in. However.
