Book Complex Analysis and Geometry

Download or read book Complex Analysis and Geometry written by Pierre Dolbeault and published by Birkhäuser. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This meeting has been motivated by two events: the 85th birthday of Pierre Lelong, and the end of the third year of the European network "Complex analysis and analytic geometry" from the programme Human Capital and Mobility. For the first event, Mathematicians from Poland, Sweden, United States and France, whose work is particularly related to the one ofP. Lelong have accepted to participate; for the second, the different teams of the Network sent lecturers to report on their most recent works. These teams are from Grenoble, Wuppertal, Berlin, Pisa and Paris VI; in fact, most of their results are also related to Lelong's work and, a posteriori, it is difficult to decide whether a talk is motivated by the first or by the second event. We chose only plenary lectures, usually of one hour, except a small number, given by young mathematicians, which have been shorter. A two hours problem session has been organized. The Proceedings gather papers which are exact texts of the talks, or are closely related to them. The members from the Network and five other lecturers sent us papers; the other lecturers published the content of their talks in mathematical Journals. All the presented texts have been submitted to referees independent of the organizing committee; the texts of the problems have been approved by their authors.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Complex analysis is a classic and central area of mathematics, which is studied and exploited in a range of important fields, from number theory to engineering. Introduction to Complex Analysis was first published in 1985, and for this much awaited second edition the text has been considerably expanded, while retaining the style of the original. More detailed presentation is given of elementary topics, to reflect the knowledge base of current students. Exercise setshave been substantially revised and enlarged, with carefully graded exercises at the end of each chapter. This is the latest addition to the growing list of Oxford undergraduate textbooks in mathematics, which includes: Biggs: Discrete Mathematics 2nd Edition, Cameron: Introduction to Algebra, Needham: Visual Complex Analysis, Kaye and Wilson: Linear Algebra, Acheson: Elementary Fluid Dynamics, Jordan and Smith: Nonlinear Ordinary Differential Equations, Smith: Numerical Solution of Partial Differential Equations, Wilson: Graphs, Colourings and the Four-Colour Theorem, Bishop: Neural Networks forPattern Recognition, Gelman and Nolan: Teaching Statistics.

Book Introduction to Complex Analysis in Several Variables

Download or read book Introduction to Complex Analysis in Several Variables written by Volker Scheidemann and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2005-09-16 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a comprehensive introduction to complex analysis in several variables. One major focus of the book is extension phenomena alien to the one-dimensional theory (Hartog's Kugelsatz, theorem of Cartan-Thullen, Bochner's theorem). The book primarily aims at students starting to work in the field of complex analysis in several variables and teachers who want to prepare a university lecture. Therefore, the book contains more than 50 examples and more than 100 supporting exercises.

Book A Quick Introduction To Complex Analysis

Download or read book A Quick Introduction To Complex Analysis written by Kalyan Chakraborty and published by World Scientific Publishing Company. This book was released on 2016-08-08 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of the book is to give a smooth analytic continuation from calculus to complex analysis by way of plenty of practical examples and worked-out exercises. The scope ranges from applications in calculus to complex analysis in two different levels. If the reader is in a hurry, he can browse the quickest introduction to complex analysis at the beginning of Chapter 1, which explains the very basics of the theory in an extremely user-friendly way. Those who want to do self-study on complex analysis can concentrate on Chapter 1 in which the two mainstreams of the theory — the power series method due to Weierstrass and the integration method due to Cauchy — are presented in a very concrete way with rich examples. Readers who want to learn more about applied calculus can refer to Chapter 2, where numerous practical applications are provided. They will master the art of problem solving by following the step by step guidance given in the worked-out examples. This book helps the reader to acquire fundamental skills of understanding complex analysis and its applications. It also gives a smooth introduction to Fourier analysis as well as a quick prelude to thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, information theory, and control theory. One of the main features of the book is that it presents different approaches to the same topic that aids the reader to gain a deeper understanding of the subject.

Book An Introduction to Classical Complex Analysis

Download or read book An Introduction to Classical Complex Analysis written by R.B. Burckel and published by Birkhäuser. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 572 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is an attempt to cover some of the salient features of classical, one variable complex function theory. The approach is analytic, as opposed to geometric, but the methods of all three of the principal schools (those of Cauchy, Riemann and Weierstrass) are developed and exploited. The book goes deeply into several topics (e.g. convergence theory and plane topology), more than is customary in introductory texts, and extensive chapter notes give the sources of the results, trace lines of subsequent development, make connections with other topics, and offer suggestions for further reading. These are keyed to a bibliography of over 1,300 books and papers, for each of which volume and page numbers of a review in one of the major reviewing journals is cited. These notes and bibliography should be of considerable value to the expert as well as to the novice. For the latter there are many references to such thoroughly accessible journals as the American Mathematical Monthly and L'Enseignement Mathématique. Moreover, the actual prerequisites for reading the book are quite modest; for example, the exposition assumes no prior knowledge of manifold theory, and continuity of the Riemann map on the boundary is treated without measure theory.
