Book Quantum Mathematical Physics

Download or read book Quantum Mathematical Physics written by Felix Finster and published by Birkhäuser. This book was released on 2016-02-24 with total page 517 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Quantum physics has been highly successful for more than 90 years. Nevertheless, a rigorous construction of interacting quantum field theory is still missing. Moreover, it is still unclear how to combine quantum physics and general relativity in a unified physical theory. Attacking these challenging problems of contemporary physics requires highly advanced mathematical methods as well as radically new physical concepts. This book presents different physical ideas and mathematical approaches in this direction. It contains a carefully selected cross-section of lectures which took place in autumn 2014 at the sixth conference ``Quantum Mathematical Physics - A Bridge between Mathematics and Physics'' in Regensburg, Germany. In the tradition of the other proceedings covering this series of conferences, a special feature of this book is the exposition of a wide variety of approaches, with the intention to facilitate a comparison. The book is mainly addressed to mathematicians and physicists who are interested in fundamental questions of mathematical physics. It allows the reader to obtain a broad and up-to-date overview of a fascinating active research area.

Book Mathematical Foundations Of Quantum Field Theory

Download or read book Mathematical Foundations Of Quantum Field Theory written by Albert Schwarz and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2020-04-15 with total page 461 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book is very different from other books devoted to quantum field theory, both in the style of exposition and in the choice of topics. Written for both mathematicians and physicists, the author explains the theoretical formulation with a mixture of rigorous proofs and heuristic arguments; references are given for those who are looking for more details. The author is also careful to avoid ambiguous definitions and statements that can be found in some physics textbooks. In terms of topics, almost all other books are devoted to relativistic quantum field theory, conversely this book is concentrated on the material that does not depend on the assumptions of Lorentz-invariance and/or locality. It contains also a chapter discussing application of methods of quantum field theory to statistical physics, in particular to the derivation of the diagram techniques that appear in thermo-field dynamics and Keldysh formalism. It is not assumed that the reader is familiar with quantum mechanics; the book contains a short introduction to quantum mechanics for mathematicians and an appendix devoted to some mathematical facts used in the book.

Book Xviith International Congress On Mathematical Physics

Download or read book Xviith International Congress On Mathematical Physics written by Arne Jensen and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2013-09-12 with total page 743 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The International Congress on Mathematical Physics is a major conference in its field that attracts a very wide spectrum of researchers. Held every three years, it provides an overview of recent developments and achievements in mathematical physics. This volume presents the plenary lectures and invited topical session lectures from the XVIIth ICMP, which was held in Aalborg, Denmark, August 2012. It also includes additional material from the Congress. In this volume, one can find survey lectures on orthogonal polynomials, random systems, information theory in physics, several aspects of quantum field theory and quantum mechanics, general relativity, and classical and quantum dynamical systems. The topical sessions covered the following areas:Readers are exposed to state-of-the-art views on mathematical physics. Several of the plenary lectures give broad surveys on recent activities, for example, in orthogonal polynomials, PDE in mathematical physics, and information theory in physics.

Book The Canonical Operator in Many Particle Problems and Quantum Field Theory

Download or read book The Canonical Operator in Many Particle Problems and Quantum Field Theory written by Victor P. Maslov and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2022-06-21 with total page 478 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this monograph we study the problem of construction of asymptotic solutions of equations for functions whose number of arguments tends to infinity as the small parameter tends to zero. Such equations arise in statistical physics and in quantum theory of a large number of fi elds. We consider the problem of renormalization of quantum field theory in the Hamiltonian formalism, which encounters additional difficulties related to the Stückelberg divergences and the Haag theorem. Asymptotic methods for solving pseudodifferential equations with small parameter multiplying the derivatives, as well as the asymptotic methods developed in the present monograph for solving problems in statistical physics and quantum field theory, can be considered from a unified viewpoint if one introduces the notion of abstract canonical operator. The book can be of interest for researchers – specialists in asymptotic methods, statistical physics, and quantum fi eld theory as well as for graduate and undergraduate students of these specialities.

Book excerpt: This proceedings volume gathers selected, peer-reviewed papers presented at the 41st International Conference on Infinite Dimensional Analysis, Quantum Probability and Related Topics (QP41) that was virtually held at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, from March 28th to April 1st, 2021. The works cover recent developments in quantum probability and infinite dimensional analysis, with a special focus on applications to mathematical physics and quantum information theory. Covered topics include white noise theory, quantum field theory, quantum Markov processes, free probability, interacting Fock spaces, and more. By emphasizing the interconnection and interdependence of such research topics and their real-life applications, this reputed conference has set itself as a distinguished forum to communicate and discuss new findings in truly relevant aspects of theoretical and applied mathematics, notably in the field of mathematical physics, as well as an event of choice for the promotion of mathematical applications that address the most relevant problems found in industry. That makes this volume a suitable reading not only for researchers and graduate students with an interest in the field but for practitioners as well.
