Book Small Scale Gas Producer Engine Systems

Download or read book Small Scale Gas Producer Engine Systems written by Albrecht Kaupp and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-04-17 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph was prepared for the Agency for International Development, Washington D. C. 20523. The authors gratefully acknowledge the assistance ofthe following Research Assistants in the Department of Agricultural Engineering: G. Lamorey, E. A. Osman and K. Sachs. J. L. Bumgarner, Draftsman for the Department, did most ofthe ink drawings. The writing of the monograph provided an unique opportunity to collect and study a significant part of the English and some German literature on the subject starting about the year 1900. It may be concluded that, despite renewed worldwide efforts in this field, only in significant advances have been made in the design of gas producer-engine systems. Book Gas and Oil Engines and Gas Producers

Download or read book Gas and Oil Engines and Gas Producers written by Lionel S. Marks and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-06-25 with total page 528 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Gas and Oil Engines and Gas-Producers: A Treatise on Theoretical and Mechanical Developments of the Modern Internal-Combustion Motor, Its Application to the Production of Efficient Power Units, and the Latest Designs of Fuel Producers Classification of Heat Engines. The heat engine is at present the most important of all the available generators of power. Its purpose is to convert into work the heat derived from the combustion of fuel. Heat engines may be divided into two broad classes, according to where the combustion of the fuel takes place. In one class the combustion takes place entirely outside the working cylinder, the heat of combustion being transmitted by conduction through the walls of a containing vessel to the substance which constitutes the active working agent. Such engines may be called external-combustion motors. The most common example of this class is the steam engine. Another example, which is but little used, is the hot-air engine. If the combustion takes place inside the engine itself, or in a communi cating vessel, so that the products of combustion act directly on the engine, We have an engine of the second class - the so-called internal combustion motor. Gas and oil engines are the most common examples of this type of motor. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Gas Engine in Principle and Practice: Including Comparison of the Two-Cycle and Four-Cycle Types of Internal Combustion Engines; With Description of Various Designs; Together With Notes on Suction and Pressure Type Gas Producers, Crude Oil Vaporizers; Etc;, Etc It has been the desire of the publishers of this book to place before the readers of Gas Power and others, information concerning the internal combustion engine written as plainly and simply as is possible in treating a subject somewhat complex in character. To that end articles published in Gas Power with other matter have been prepared and compiled by the writer. Books of all authorities on the subject have been consulted in preparing this work and it is believed the information contained in the following pages will be found thoroughly reliable and up-to-date. As this work was primarily intended for the non-technical reader endeavor has been made to simplify and explain any necessary calculations, to condense the text as much as possible and throughout to render the work interesting to those desiring information on this subject.
