Book Grundlagen und Anforderungen interkultureller Zusammenarbeit in Kitas Interkulturelle Bildung und Erziehung

Download or read book Grundlagen und Anforderungen interkultureller Zusammenarbeit in Kitas Interkulturelle Bildung und Erziehung written by I. Seel and published by Grin Publishing. This book was released on 2017-02 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Multilingual Approaches for Teaching and Learning

Download or read book Multilingual Approaches for Teaching and Learning written by Claudine Kirsch and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-03-04 with total page 215 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Multilingual Approaches for Teaching and Learning outlines the opportunities and challenges of multilingual approaches in mainstream education in Europe. The book, which draws on research findings from several officially monolingual, bilingual, and multilingual countries in Europe, discusses approaches to multilingual education which capitalise on students’ multilingual resources from early childhood to higher education. This book synthesises research on multilingual education, relates theory to practice, and discusses different pedagogical approaches from diverse perspectives. The first section of the book outlines multilingual approaches in early childhood education and primary school, the second looks at multilingual approaches in secondary school and higher education, and the third examines the influence of parents, policy-makers, and professional development on the implementation and sustainability of multilingual approaches. The book demonstrates that educators can leverage students’ multilingualism to promote learning and help students achieve their full potential. This book will be of great interest to academics, researchers, and postgraduate students in the fields of language education, psychology, sociolinguistics, and applied linguistics.

Book Migration Religion and Early Childhood Education

Download or read book Migration Religion and Early Childhood Education written by Ednan Aslan and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-06-08 with total page 271 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although it is rarely given sufficient consideration in either scholarly or political debates, early childhood education plays a crucial role in the integration process of young immigrants in European countries, since it not only enables the children to be integrated into society, both linguistically and culturally, but it also provides their parents with the opportunity, through their children, to view the society more directly and to reflect on their own values in the encounter, or to potentially seek new orientations. The quality of young migrants’ educational achievements, which have repeatedly caused current political debates in European countries, should not be considered independently of the elementary education measures since they are very closely related. Prof. Dr. Ednan Aslan is Chair of Islamic Religious Education at the Institute for Islamic Theological Studies at the University of Vienna.

Book Normed Children

    Book Details:
  • Author : Erik Schneider
  • Publisher : Transcript Publishing
  • Release : 2018
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 374 pages

Download or read book Normed Children written by Erik Schneider and published by Transcript Publishing. This book was released on 2018 with total page 374 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Gender- and sex-related norms have an impact on us from the first to the last day of our lives. What are the effects of such norms on the education of children and adolescents? Conveyed via parents/family, school, and peers, they seem to be an inseparable part of human relations. After its favorable reception in German-speaking countries from 2014 onwards, this title is now available in English. The texts show that the traditional assumption of a dualistic, bipolar normativity of sex and gender leads to children being taught gender-typical behavior. The contributions in this volume explore the reasons for these practices and open the debate on the divergence between the prevailing norms and the plurality of different life plans. In addition, the book helps to disengage the topic of sex and gender from a hitherto narrowly circumscribed context of sexual orientation. The contributions point the way towards a culture of respect and mutual acceptance and show new methodological as well as theoretical approaches, e.g. by introducing the figure of the continuum, so that, in future research projects, more than just the two sexes and genders of female and male might be considered as a new normality." -- Back cover.

Book Handbook of Early Literacy Research

Download or read book Handbook of Early Literacy Research written by Susan B. Neuman and published by Guilford Press. This book was released on 2011-10-10 with total page 497 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The field of early literacy has seen significant recent advances in theory, research, and practice. These volumes bring together leading authorities to report on current findings, integrate insights from different disciplinary perspectives, and explore ways to provide children with the strongest possible literacy foundations in the first 6 years of life. The Handbook first addresses broad questions about the nature of emergent literacy, summarizing current knowledge on cognitive pathways, biological underpinnings, and the importance of cultural contexts. Chapters in subsequent sections examine various strands of knowledge and skills that emerge as children become literate, as well as the role played by experiences with peers and families. Particular attention is devoted to the challenges involved in making schools work for all children, including members of linguistic and ethnic minority groups and children living in poverty. Finally, approaches to instruction, assessment, and early intervention are described, and up-to-date research on their effectiveness is presented.
