En effet, la pr sence du tourbillon modifie le gradient de pression et retarde le d collement en r -acc l rant le fluide la paroi. Pour les incidences plus lev es, on observe un r -attachement de la couche limite. La dynamique de cet coulement est analys e par d composition orthogonale en modes propres (POD) dans le but de mieux appr hender l'alignement spatial tourbillonnaire dans le sillage des corps mis grande incidence et contr l .

Book excerpt: Cette thèse a pour but l'analyse de l'interaction entre un jet turbulent et un tourbillon de sillage, dans la phase dite d'interaction du régime de sillage. C'est à dire lorsque le jet s'enroule autour du tourbillon car sa vitesse axiale n'est plus suffisamment élevée pour résister à l'attraction de ce tourbillon. Il y a alors un changement dans la nature de la turbulence du jet : des structures tourbillonnaires plus intenses émergent et perturbent le tourbillon autour duquel elles s'enroulent. Parmi les mécanismes physiques intervenant au cours de l'interaction, le travail effectué au cours de cette thèse a permis de déterminer quels étaient les mécanismes majeurs, ainsi que leur origine et leur enchaînement. Pour cela, nous avons dans un premier temps mis au point un outil d'analyse adapté à notre étude, basé sur une méthode de décomposition du champ de vitesse globale en la somme des champs de vitesse induite par chacune des structures tourbillonnaires. Dans un deuxième temps, l'ensemble des fonctionnalités de cet outil ont été validées à l'aide de différents tests, qui ont par ailleurs permis de faire le point sur certaines limites de la méthode. Une fois cet outil validé, il a été utilisé sur quatre simulations de l'interaction jet/tourbillon effectuées à l'aide d'un solveur qui résout les équations de Navier-Stokes tridimensionnelles pour un fluide compressible. Cette analyse comparative a permis de mettre en évidence les mécanismes propres à l'interaction et d'éliminer les phénomènes induits par les différents paramètres de la simulation. Une fois cette dépendance levée, l'étude s'est focalisée sur l'analyse des mécanismes dominants en identifiant leur origine, i.e. la structure tourbillonnaire à l'origine du mécanisme, et leur action, en les confrontant à des mécanismes issus de la littérature. On a ainsi pu, entre autres, mettre en valeur les mécanismes d'intensification des structures tourbillonnaires issues du jet, la déformation du tourbillon axial par ces mêmes structures et la création d'excroissances de vorticité azimutale sur le tourbillon axial. Enfin, cette étude a permis de construire un scénario de l'interaction jet/tourbillon qui pourra servir de base pour une étude de cette interaction dans une démarche de contrôle.
