Nous commencerons par définir l'hypnose grâce à une découverte des phénomènes hypnotiques à travers le temps, puise exposer les effets physiologiques à l'hypnose à l'aide des découvertes récents en neurosciences. Nous expliquerons ensuite quelles sont les différentes phases du processus hypnotique et quels sont les outils à notre disposition pour engendrer cet état. Enfin, nous nous intéresserons particulièrement auxx intérêts de cette pratique dans la prise en charge de l'anxiété, la douleur de l'adulte à l'enfant à travers une dizaine de cas cliniques. Nous verrons aussi les bienfaits et de l'hypnose et de l'autohypnose pour le praticien en prévention du stress voir du burn-out, phénomènes fréquents cjez les chirurgiens-dentistes.

L’objet de ce travail est de mettre en évidence l’intérêt de l’hypnose médicale en odontologie. Après un survol de l’histoire des phénomènes hypnotiques et la compréhension des mécanismes d’actions cérébrales du processus hypnotique, nous verrons quelles sont les techniques de communication qui permettent d’améliorer la relation avec notre patient. L’exposé de 10 cas cliniques où la communication hypnotique a accompagné les soins, ainsi qu’une enquête réalisée auprès de confrères et de patients sur le ressénti de leur relation praticien-patient d’une part et sur l’utilité de l’hypnose médicale durant les soins d’autre part ont permis d’ouvrir la discussion. Cette dernière mettra à jour la spécificité et l’originalité de la communication hypnotique, les bieitits qu’elle apporte au patient quant à la gestion de sa douleur et de son anxiété, mais aussi au praticien par une meilleure gestion de sa vie professionnelle grâce à l’autohypnose.

A tradition of triennial major world congresses has been established, beginning with the 3rd International Congress for Hypnosis and Psychosomatic Medicine in Paris in 1965. These meetings, encouraged and sponsored by the International Society of Hypnosis and its predecessor, the International Society of Clini cal and Experimental Hypnosis, are sponsored by universities and provide a forum for the exchange of ideas among scientists and clinicians throughout the world.

Timing exerted by oscillatory mechanisms are found throughout the biological world and their periods span a wide range from milliseconds, as in the action potential of n- rons and the myocytes, to the slow evolutionary changes that require thousands of generations. In this context, to understand the synchronization of a population of coupled oscillators is an important problem for the dynamics of physiology in living systems (Aon et al. , 2007a, b; Kuramoto, 1984; Strogatz, 2003; Winfree, 1967).
