Book excerpt: The Instant-Series Presents "Instant Goals" How to Set Goals and Achieve Them Instantly! When you die...what do you want people to remember you by? What do you want to leave with your families and friends? What do you want to be your legacy to the world? Let's be honest, you don't want to be unimportant as just another person who could have done more and live life to the fullest and given back to it. We all have dreams and aspirations we want to accomplish, rather that is to have the big house, fancy cars, huge cash in our bank account, land that dream job, or, more simple things like, send our kids to college. But to achieve anything in life...we must set goals! Goals are your purpose to live for guiding your focus, path to travel leading you where you want to go, and procedure to follow in how to achieve them. They are your map to success. Without setting goals, no matter how much you want to do something, you will lose your way when things get tough and distractions occur, taking you off your destination trail...lost without guidance in the chaotic jungle trying to stay above water in this ever fast-paced world. That's why setting firm solid goals is a must, yet many people don't do it, or do it wrong. Within "Instant Goals": * The Instant Gratification. How to immediately achieve all the things you want now as your SHORT-TERM goals? * The Bigger Fish. How to properly work on bigger, more rewarding LONG-TERM goals without giving up? * How to fight distractions, so you don't forget or ever back out from striving towards your goals? * How to stay motivated, if you do lose your way and need to find your path again to be more passionate than ever? * How to determine what you really want and prioritize on what's most important, so you're not wasting time, energy, and resources causing more harm than good, never achieving anything? * Plus, custom practical "how-to" strategies, techniques, applications and exercises to achieve your goals. ...and much more. Now you can set goals easily and the right way, and instantly achieve your goals with "Instant Goals."

This book was released on 2015-09-25 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Safe Robot Navigation Among Moving and Steady Obstacles is the first book to focus on reactive navigation algorithms in unknown dynamic environments with moving and steady obstacles. The first three chapters provide introduction and background on sliding mode control theory, sensor models, and vehicle kinematics. Chapter 4 deals with the problem of optimal navigation in the presence of obstacles. Chapter 5 discusses the problem of reactively navigating. In Chapter 6, border patrolling algorithms are applied to a more general problem of reactively navigating. A method for guidance of a Dubins-like mobile robot is presented in Chapter 7. Chapter 8 introduces and studies a simple biologically-inspired strategy for navigation a Dubins-car. Chapter 9 deals with a hard scenario where the environment of operation is cluttered with obstacles that may undergo arbitrary motions, including rotations and deformations. Chapter 10 presents a novel reactive algorithm for collision free navigation of a nonholonomic robot in unknown complex dynamic environments with moving obstacles. Chapter 11 introduces and examines a novel purely reactive algorithm to navigate a planar mobile robot in densely cluttered environments with unpredictably moving and deforming obstacles. Chapter 12 considers a multiple robot scenario. For the Control and Automation Engineer, this book offers accessible and precise development of important mathematical models and results. Book The Oxford Handbook of Mobile Communication and Society

Download or read book The Oxford Handbook of Mobile Communication and Society written by Rich Ling and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2020-04-06 with total page 731 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mobile communication has dramatically changed over the past decade with the diffusion of smartphones. Unlike the basic 2G mobile phones, which "merely" facilitated communication between individuals on the move, smartphones allow individuals to communicate, to entertain and inform themselves, to transact, to navigate, to take photos, and countless other things. Mobile communication has thus transformed society by allowing new forms of coordination, communication, consumption, social interaction, and access to news/entertainment. All of this is regardless of the space in which users are immersed. Set in the context of the developed and the developing world, The Oxford Handbook of Mobile Communication and Society updates current scholarship surrounding mobile media and communication. The 43 chapters in this handbook examine mobile communication and its evolving impact on individuals, institutions, groups, societies, and businesses. Contributors examine the communal benefits, social consequences, theoretical perspectives, organizational potential, and future consequences of mobile communication. Topics covered include, among many other things, trends in the Global South, location-based services, and the "appification" of mobile communication and society.

Book Advances in Swearing Research

Download or read book Advances in Swearing Research written by Kristy Beers Fägersten and published by John Benjamins Publishing Company. This book was released on 2017-10-15 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Any behavior that arouses, as swearing does, controversy, disagreement, disdain, shock, and indignation as often as it imbues passion, sincerity, intimacy, solidarity, and jocularity should be an obvious target of in-depth scholarship. Rigorous, scholarly investigation of the practice of swearing acknowledges its social and cultural significance, and allows us to discover and better understand the historical, psychological, sociological, and linguistic aspects (among others) of swearwords and swearword usage. The present volume brings together a range of themes and issues central to the existing knowledge of swearing and considers these in two key ‘new’ arenas, that is, in languages other than English, and/or in contexts and media other than spoken interaction. Many of the chapters analysed are based on large and robust collections of data, such as corpora or questionnaire responses, which allow for patterns of swearing to emerge. In other chapters, personally observed instances of swearing comprise the focus, allowing for a close analysis of the relationship between sociolinguistic context and pragmatic function. In each chapter, the cultural aspects of swearing are considered, ultimately affirming the importance of the study of swearing, and further establishing the legitimacy of swearing as a target of research.

Book Neural Network Modeling and Identification of Dynamical Systems

Download or read book Neural Network Modeling and Identification of Dynamical Systems written by Yury Tiumentsev and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2019-05-17 with total page 334 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Neural Network Modeling and Identification of Dynamical Systems presents a new approach on how to obtain the adaptive neural network models for complex systems that are typically found in real-world applications. The book introduces the theoretical knowledge available for the modeled system into the purely empirical black box model, thereby converting the model to the gray box category. This approach significantly reduces the dimension of the resulting model and the required size of the training set. This book offers solutions for identifying controlled dynamical systems, as well as identifying characteristics of such systems, in particular, the aerodynamic characteristics of aircraft. - Covers both types of dynamic neural networks (black box and gray box) including their structure, synthesis and training - Offers application examples of dynamic neural network technologies, primarily related to aircraft - Provides an overview of recent achievements and future needs in this area
