Book Infraestructura verde Sistema natural de salud p blica

Download or read book Infraestructura verde Sistema natural de salud p blica written by CALAZA MARTINEZ, PEDRO and published by Ediciones Mundi-Prensa. This book was released on 2016-01-01 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Planning with Landscape Green Infrastructure to Build Climate Adapted Cities

Download or read book Planning with Landscape Green Infrastructure to Build Climate Adapted Cities written by Camila Gomes Sant'Anna and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-03-01 with total page 261 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This edited volume examines how to develop a planning and design process with green infrastructure that creates technical answers to the social and ecological function of the city’s climate change adaptations demands. In this context, it proposes a process that engage the values linked to the art and culture of the place, capable of generating adoption by the population and promoting the right to landscape. Since the nineteenth century, many theoretical and practical experiences have integrated urban and environmental issues, revising the understanding of nature as an object and thinking of nature and culture in conjunction. However, consensus of the methodological strategies needed to guide the development of multi-scale landscape planning and design capable of responding to the climate emergency, heritage, water, biodiversity and social inclusion, among other issues has not been achieved. Green infrastructure has emerged as a tool to link considerations of the planning and design process to examine the impact urban nature can have at a global and a local scale. The book gathers together authors from different parts of the world and disciplines to showcase conceptual thinking, best practices and methodological strategies relating to landscape planning and design with green infrastructure adapted to climate change. The topic of this book is particularly relevant to scholars, practitioners and developers around the world who have an interest in planning and environmental management, landscape architecture, and socio-cultural understandings of landscape.

Book Sustainable Development and Planning VII

Download or read book Sustainable Development and Planning VII written by Ö. Özçevik and published by WIT Press. This book was released on 2015-05-19 with total page 1147 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains the proceedings of the seventh in a series of biennial conferences on the topic of sustainable regional development that began in 2003. Organised by the Wessex Institute, the conference series provides a common forum for all scientists specialising in the range of subjects included within sustainable development and planning. In order to ensure that planning and development can meet our present needs without compromising future generations, planners, environmentalists, architects, engineers, policy makers, and economists must work together The use of modern technologies in planning gives us new potential to monitor and prevent environmental degradation. In recent years, in many countries an increase in spatial problems has led to planning crises. Planning problems are often associated with uneven development, deterioration of the quality of urban life, and destruction of the environment. The increasing urbanisation of the world, coupled with the global issues of environmental pollution, resource shortage, and economic restructuring, demand that we ensure a decent quality of life for our cities. Other environments, such as rural areas, forests, coastal regions, and mountains, face their own problems that urgently require solutions in order to avoid irreversible damage. Effective strategies for management should consider planning and regional development, two closely related disciplines, and emphasise the demand to handle these matters in an integrated way. The papers in the book cover such topics as: Regional Planning; City Planning; Sustainability and the Built Environment; Cultural Heritage; Environmental Management; Environmental Policies and Planning; Sustainable Tourism; Resources Management; Social and Political Issues; Rural Developments; Sustainable Solutions in Emerging Countries; Transportation; Energy Resources; Environmental Economics; Sustainable Assessment; Sustainable Development Indicators; Sustainability Modelling; Governance; Resilience; Community Planning; Planning for Equality; Quality of Life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A radical redefinition of how humanity occupies the earth — through forests, agriculture, and settlement — and rearticulates environmental stewardship by intertwining ecologies and urbanisms, this publication brings together essays by scholars in forestry, urbanism and other disciplines, designers, practitioners and policy makers. It explores the multifaceted notion of forest urbanisms, including a conceptual framing essay; contributions from the sciences such as bioscience engineering, architecture, urbanism and public policy; contemporary forest urbanism projects and explorative essays that make tangible an agenda for the 21st century. With descriptions of both built and non-built projects from around the globe, the essays show how such projects substantiate a radical shift in humankind’s occupation of the world, where ecologies and urbanisms converge and agriculture, forests, and settlements are integrated. Forest Urbanisms extends growing research on a new nature–culture relationship, the necessity for trees in cities, and a rebalancing of ecology and urbanism.

Book Urbanismo Regenerativo

Download or read book Urbanismo Regenerativo written by Landlab and published by Actar D, Inc.. This book was released on 2024-01-23 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are living in a critical moment, a reality marked by environmental and socio-economic limits that requires innovative and realistic forms of action and planning. This is what regenerative urbanism proposes, a new approach based on utopian pragmatism that seeks to restore balance to the urban territory by designing systems that allow it to adapt and transform. It is a methodology that defines models that do not consume available resources, but rather generate new ones that ensure compatibility between economic and social prosperity and nature. Santander, Hábitat Futuro (Santander, Future Habitat) is the city model created from this methodology, a proposal for the transformation of this city for the year 2055. It is an open model based on innovation and citizen participation that prepares and adapts the territory for the different scenarios to come. Santander, Habitat Futuro is a guide that directs the commitment of the different social, economic and political agents towards a common goal: to achieve a circular, sustainable, resilient, vertebrate, prosperous, vital and inclusive city. A model that, due to its innovative nature, can serve as an example to other intermediate cities around the world.
