Book Formal Methods for Industrial Applications

Download or read book Formal Methods for Industrial Applications written by Jean-Raymond Abrial and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1996-10-30 with total page 536 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book, with the CD-ROM included, is the documentation of a unique collaborative effort in evaluating formal methods for usage under industrial constraints: the major techniques for formally supported specification, design, and verification of large programs and complex systems are applied to a non-trivial and non-academic problem which is typical for industrial informal requirements specifications. The 21 papers included in the book, together with an introduction and competition report, were selected from 33 candidate solutions. This book comes with a CD-ROM containing, besides the printed papers, executable code, full definitions of all parts of the specifications, and detailed descriptions of foundational matters where appropriate.

Book Boiler Control Systems Engineering

Download or read book Boiler Control Systems Engineering written by G. F. Gilman and published by ISA. This book was released on 2005 with total page 168 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is for anyone who works with boilers as a utilities manager, power plant manager, control systems engineer, maintenance technician or operator. The information deals primarily with water tube boilers with Induced Draft (ID) and Forced Draft (FD) fan(s) or boilers with only a FD fan. However, it can apply to any steam generator requiring the firing of fuel. The book addresses issues to be considered when defining measurement transmitters and specification for transmitters. Final control elements are reviewed as to characteristics and sizing. Engineering details on control systems and the setup of the various control functions are covered with specific examples of boiler control including configuration and tuning. The book also contains some of the primary requirements for a Burner Management System.

Book Emission Control from Industrial Boilers

Download or read book Emission Control from Industrial Boilers written by John T. Quigley and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1994-12-28 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the Preface The Clean Air Act Amendments (CAAA) of 1990 significantly affect commercial and industrial combustion devices such as boilers, incinerators, and other burners. Under the new emission regulations already promulgated and those being developed, compliance will require improved equipment, more detailed operator training, new permits, more complex monitoring and reporting, as well as other requirements. All emissions must be considered, e.g., particulates and gases (acid, organic, hazardous, NOx, ozone). Many industrial boiler plants have been retrofitted to change fuel and/or combustion operating conditions as a means to meet new air pollution control requirements. New regulations will continue to be developed by the CAAA of 1990 that will require changes to other boilers and combustion systems. This book is intended to acquaint industry with the equipment and operating options that are available to reduce emissions while controlling costs. Specific topics are addressed, including regulatory requirements, boiler and burner equipment retrofits, combustion modification, air emission control and monitoring equipment selection, maintenance, and cost. The twelve chapters of this book are written by seven different authors. The authors use fifty-two figures and forty-four tables to help explain the written text and to make it more interesting and useful to readers.
