In this study, indoor-outdoor spaces are defined as the spaces in or around buildings that blur the line between indoor and outdoor areas. Through a survey to Pittsburgh businesses, this study will determine if the participants have exposure to natural environments on a daily basis, then they will have an interest in environmentalism. A strong correlation will be found between experiences in nature and the value of caring for the environment. The results of this survey will be important to businesses, commercial spaces and environmental groups as well as policymakers to encourage responsible citizens.
