Book Business for the Glory of God

Download or read book Business for the Glory of God written by Wayne Grudem and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2003-11-06 with total page 98 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Can business activity in itself be morally good and pleasing to God? Sometimes business can seem so shady-manipulating the "bottom line," deceiving the consumer, or gaining promotions because of whom you know. But Wayne Grudem introduces a novel concept: business itself glorifies God when it is conducted in a way that imitates God's character and creation. He shows that all aspects of business, including ownership, profit, money, competition, and borrowing and lending, glorify God because they are reflective of God's nature. Though Grudem isn't naïve about the easy ways these activities can be perverted and used as a means to sin, he knows that Christians can be about the business of business. This biblically based book is a thoughtful guide to imitating God during interactions with customers, coworkers, employees, and other businesses. See how your business, and your life in business, can be dedicated to God's glory.

Book We Are Living in the Finished Work of Christ

Download or read book We Are Living in the Finished Work of Christ written by Sis. Sheila G. Arnold and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2008-05-07 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first book I had written contains information regarding the traditional things that are going on in the church today and have been going on for many, many years. God has inspired me with the assistance from my wife to dig deeper and research a little more about these traditons. It is to open our eyes as well as the eyes of others and set us free from those old traditions that are holding us back from having a real relationship with Christ. Christ came to save us not to keep us in bondage or slavery. People are hurting because they have been taught that there is a certain way that they have to serve God in order to be blessed. They have been told that there are certain things they cannot do if they want to be blessed or saved. The so called Pastors/False Prophets have kept so many people in darkness. Gods people are still in bondage by the false teachers. So many people believe if they dont work in the church (usher, in the choir, on the missionary board, etc.) they are not saved. Many people believe that you have to work to be saved. They have missed the mark. As a Christian, you work because you are saved, it is not an obligation, but a privilege. Christ is our comforter. He has not come to keep us in bondage. He has freed us from our sins, from the law of bondage. When the people came to Jesus and ask to be healed he always tell them that your faith has made you whole or your faith has healed you. Faith in Christ is the Key Word.

Book excerpt: The provocative and authoritative history of the origins of Christian America in the New Deal era We're often told that the United States is, was, and always has been a Christian nation. But in One Nation Under God, historian Kevin M. Kruse reveals that the belief that America is fundamentally and formally Christian originated in the 1930s. To fight the "slavery" of FDR's New Deal, businessmen enlisted religious activists in a campaign for "freedom under God" that culminated in the election of their ally Dwight Eisenhower in 1952. The new president revolutionized the role of religion in American politics. He inaugurated new traditions like the National Prayer Breakfast, as Congress added the phrase "under God" to the Pledge of Allegiance and made "In God We Trust" the country's first official motto. Church membership soon soared to an all-time high of 69 percent. Americans across the religious and political spectrum agreed that their country was "one nation under God." Provocative and authoritative, One Nation Under God reveals how an unholy alliance of money, religion, and politics created a false origin story that continues to define and divide American politics to this day.

Book Relics of the Christ

  • Author : Joe Nickell
  • Publisher : University Press of Kentucky
  • Release : 2007-03-16
  • ISBN : 0813172128
  • Pages : 231 pages

Download or read book Relics of the Christ written by Joe Nickell and published by University Press of Kentucky. This book was released on 2007-03-16 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Religious relics, defined as “either portions of or objects connected with the body of a saint or other holy person,” are among the most revered items in the world. Christian relics such as the Holy Grail, the True Cross, and the Lance of Longinus are also the source of limitless controversy. Such items have incited people to bloodshed and, some say, have been a source of miracles. Relics inspire fear and hope among the faithful and yet are a perennial target for skeptics, both secular and Christian. To research the authenticity of numerous Christian relics, Joe Nickell takes a scientific approach to a field of study all too often tainted by premature conclusions. In this volume, Nickell investigates such renowned relics as the Shroud of Turin, the multiple heads of John the Baptist, and the supposedly incorruptible corpses of saints, first examining the available evidence and documented history of each item. From accounts of true believers to the testimony of the relics’ alleged fabricators, Nickell then presents all sides of each story, allowing the evidence to speak for itself. For each relic, Nickell evaluates both the corroborating and contradictory bodies of evidence and explores whether the relic and attributed miracles can be reconstructed. In addition to his own experiments, Nickell presents findings from the world’s top scientists and historians regarding these controversial objects of reverence and ire, explaining the circumstances under which each case was examined. Radiocarbon dating and tests to determine the validity of substances such as blood or patina indicate a variety of possible origins. Nickell even reveals some of the techniques used to create archaeological forgeries and explains how investigators have exposed them. Each relic is a mystery to be solved; guided by the maxim, “extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof,” Nickell seeks only the truth.

Book excerpt: Being a Christian sales person is going to be tricky. That's what I thought as I entered my first professional sales position. In retrospect, my life as a Christian sales person was confusing, gut-wrenchingly difficult, frustrating, and wonderfully rewarding. I dealt with questions that you may also face: - How do I balance the need to get results with the Christian ethic of leaving the outcomes to Christ? - Where do I go for support and encouragement in a church where I'm seen as a second class citizen? - How and when do I voice my beliefs on the job, when my employer is not paying me to do that? - How do I maintain my perspective when some of the professional Christians around me are so much more manipulative and deceitful than any secular acquaintance? - How do I maintain my Christian ethics inside a company that supports just the opposite? - How do I grow a consulting practice with no resources and no network? Here's my story.

Book Who Do You Think You Are

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: WHO ARE YOU? WHAT DEFINES YOU? WHAT IS YOUR IDENTITY? How you answer those questions affects every aspect of your life: personal, public, and spiritual. So it’s vital to get the answer right. Pastor and best-selling author Mark Driscoll believes false identity is at the heart of many struggles—and that you can overcome them by having your true identity in Christ. In Who Do You Think You Are?, Driscoll explores the question, “What does it mean to be ‘in Christ’?” In the process he dissects the false-identity epidemic and, more important, provides the only solution—Jesus. “This book will give you an unshakeable, biblical understanding of who you are in Christ. When you know who you are, you’ll know what to do.” —Craig Groeschel, Senior Pastor of LifeChurch.tv and author of Soul Detox, Clean Living in a Contaminated World “I spent years in ministry for Christ without understanding my identity in Christ. I know now that I was not alone. When, by the grace of God, we understand who we are in Christ, everything else can crumble and we will still be standing. Book Mikhail Naimy

    Book Details:
  • Author : George Nicolas El-Hage, PH D
  • Publisher :
  • Release : 2021-05-19
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 368 pages

Download or read book Mikhail Naimy written by George Nicolas El-Hage, PH D and published by . This book was released on 2021-05-19 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is an exciting and informative spiritual journey in the company of Christ. It is an open and honest dialogue, a heart to heart conversation with Jesus, a friend, a man, and "The Savior." The book is daring and provocative but inspiring. Naimy wrote it when he was in his eighties. It is the fruit of years of meditation and analysis. It compels you to re-think and re-evaluate your own understanding of the Holy Book and the stories that you grew up with and accepted at face value. These are the stories that you took for granted to be the truth and the whole truth about your faith and beliefs. It is a personal journey of self discovery towards the holy, the sacred, and the divine residing inside each one of us. However, even at times when you think that Naimy is questioning the authority of the Gospel and the narrative of a certain evangelist, you cannot doubt or even suspect the author's faith and belief in Christ. The book teaches you how to read the Bible, and if you have read it, it makes you think of how to understand it. It compels you to re-consider certain things that you had never thought of before or have questioned before. Consequently, you think that you have read the Bible, but until you have read Naimy's book, your reading of the Gospels shall remain incomplete and even shallow. You will be surprised how much you have missed and how much you have overlooked or did not stop to re-consider and analyze. In his philosophy and religious thought, Naimy transcends any sect, church, denomination or group in his search for the Divine. He does not subscribe to any laws, commandments, rituals, or particular observances because his message is intrinsically universal in its content and in its application and practice.
