Book Implementation of an ERP System to Digitize and Optimize all Company Processes

Download or read book Implementation of an ERP System to Digitize and Optimize all Company Processes written by Markus Müller and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2023-07-05 with total page 47 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Diploma Thesis from the year 2023 in the subject Engineering - Industrial Engineering and Management, grade: 1,3, University of Applied Sciences Rosenheim, language: English, abstract: The main objective of the project was to implement an ERP system that would digitize and optimize all company processes. The success of the implementation was measured by achieving a 30% reduction in cycle time and error rate, along with cost savings of 50,000 euros annually. The projected project duration was two years. The project has been successfully completed within the expected timeframe. The ERP system has been successfully introduced, addressing the challenges associated with analog work methods and providing a streamlined approach to managing operations. The company now has a robust ERP system in place that will enhance efficiency and productivity. During the project, it was discovered that additional employee training was necessary to ensure a smooth transition to the new system. Costs increased due to the development or acquisition of tailored training materials. This investment was crucial in preparing employees for the changes and maximizing the benefits of the ERP system. The implementation phase took less time than initially anticipated, indicating effective project management and resource allocation. This efficient execution allowed the company to realize the benefits of the ERP system earlier than expected, resulting in improved processes and operational performance. Key lessons learned from the project include the importance of comprehensive planning, stakeholder involvement, and change management. Thorough planning, clear communication, and collaboration with stakeholders were critical to the success of the ERP implementation. Additionally, effective change management strategies, including training and support, helped employees adapt to the new processes and technologies.

Book How to successfully implement an ERP

Download or read book How to successfully implement an ERP written by Gustavo Zientek and published by Nena Celeste UG. This book was released on 2023-02-26 with total page 71 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is intended to provide insights to companies interested in growing and in improving their administrative processes. Usually, we are all thinking about selling, depositing the checks, finding people, shipping products or delivering projects, and the administrative process are for most CEO’s not relevant. Actually, we all heard many CEO’s saying: I don’t care how you do it, but get it done! But the “How To” becomes extremely important to be efficient, have control of the operation, and obtain the right data out of the system. It is too easy to be caught up in the frenzy of the day, chasing people, products, orders, checks, and accounting tends to receive little focus for many. This is why I worked on this book. Every CEO should pay attention that once you did your first few steps as an entrepreneur (getting customers and start operating) there are formalities you need to have in order to guarantee registering all data correctly. Not just for the Department of Revenue or the IRS, but also for you. At the end of the day, the most valuable component in your business is your data. That is why having a secured, efficient and auditable system of record to store your data and be able to exploit that data via KPI’s Dashboards and reports becomes critical for your success. This book is not intended to teach experienced consultant how to implement their ERP. But rather to give the newcomers to the ERP world an insight of that they should do to implement a system successfully. This is not just my opinion, but because I used ChatGPT to write this book, the contents are what it is on the internet available already. I directly the information in order to give it a structure that made sense to me. Most implementation partners already have their own methodology, that is why this books is intended to companies that are planning to implement an ERP for the first time. Many companies put more focus in the Change Management, other ignore it completely. We can’t stress how important it is to have a Project Manager or at least one person responsible for gathering the data and preparing the data and to be the sole point of contact with the partner that is implementing the system with you. Last, I want to give many thanks to Joe Martin and Jose Fernandez Calvo for giving me ideas in how to use GPT-3 OpenAI large-scale language-generation model (aka ChatGPT) and in helping me with the technicalities not related to ERP implementation but rather in publishing this book. I also want to thank the team at Consultare America LLC that cheered when I told them that I was writing this book and encouraged me to finish it

Book Enterprise Resource Planning Systems Challenges of Enterprise Software Implementation

Download or read book Enterprise Resource Planning Systems Challenges of Enterprise Software Implementation written by Mercy Njiru and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2016-02-12 with total page 13 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Research Paper (postgraduate) from the year 2014 in the subject Business economics - Supply, Production, Logistics, , language: English, abstract: However challenging it may be in carrying out this research, its findings are expected to give a contribution towards role-based ERP system implementation practice. This study’s findings are expected to be significant to various interested parties, for example vendors may understand price- and design-based problems facing target customers and simplify applications to assist companies to implement role-based ERP systems with ease. On the other hand, people or companies implementing role-based ERP systems can also realize the internal and extraneous needs and get prepared effectively. The trouble in implementing role-based ERP systems in industrialized nations may be worsened by the assertion that role-based ERP embodies proved ways of doing business thus requiring companies adopting role-based ERP systems to adjust their corporate processes to comply with business practices constitutional in role-based ERP packages. Venders contend that the implementation of such best practices lowers the cost of configuring the software and results in improving the company’s processes. Therefore, Gosain, S. (2004) says that companies and their stakeholders many times strain to implement such practices.

Book excerpt: This book is about running modern industrial enterprises with the help of information systems. Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is the core of business information processing. With the growing dependency on the partners, effective supply chains have become as important for a company's success as efficient in-house processes. This book covers typical business processes and shows how these processes are implemented. Examples are presented using the leading systems on the market – SAP ERP and SAP SCM. In this way, the reader can understand how business processes are actually carried out "in the real world".

In Enterprise Architecture as Strategy: Creating a Foundation for Business Execution, authors Jeanne W. Ross, Peter Weill, and David C. Robertson show you how. The key? Make tough decisions about which processes you must execute well, then implement the IT systems needed to digitize those processes. Citing numerous companies worldwide, the authors show how constructing the right enterprise architecture enhances profitability and time to market, improves strategy execution, and even lowers IT costs. Though clear, engaging explanation, they demonstrate how to define your operating model—your vision of how your firm will survive and grow—and implement it through your enterprise architecture. Their counterintuitive but vital message: when it comes to executing your strategy, your enterprise architecture may matter far more than your strategy itself.

Book Enterprise Resource Planning

Download or read book Enterprise Resource Planning written by K. Ganesh and published by Springer. This book was released on 2014-06-18 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book introduces the fundamental principles of understanding business requirements to apply enterprise resource planning (ERP) in order to meet business needs. The book also helps readers understand the usage of ERP for monitoring and controlling business processes, while providing practical oriented solutions to the design and implementation of ERP. Using the provided framework, a business can decide to provide more value at lower cost which increases its competitive advantage. This should be an ideal reference for executives, researchers and consultants in project management of ERP. ERP can be considered to be an integrated package of business process. The scope of ERP determines the extent of automation of business process. For example if ERP covers Human Resource (HR) and finance business processes only, then business process related HR and finance are automated. Typically business process that are automated in HR and finance employee entry and exist process, allocation of employee ID, payroll, processing , income tax planning and actual deduction etc. There is seamless flow of employee data and information is available at an effectively faster rate to take appropriate decision. As custom demand increases, there is a need to meet the changing scenario with speed and efficiency. While there is a need to increase productivity, there is also a need to reduce cost of operation. The repetitive business processes can be handled effectively by automating them and freeing human resources for meeting other uncertainties. These automations not only should be done for each department, but also should cut across different departments. Thus there is a need for automating business processes at enterprise level. This enterprise level automation started with MRP, then MRP II, ERP and then finally open source ERP have taken centre stage. Out of the standard products available in the market, an organization can chose an ERP product for implementation, depending on the features available and the total cost of ownership (TCO). This comparison helps an organization to choose the product that best suits the needs for the organization. Enterprise Resource Planning: Fundamentals of Design and Implementation highlights these concepts while discusses different good practices to design and implement ERP.

Book Enterprise Resource Planning Global Opportunities and Challenges

Download or read book Enterprise Resource Planning Global Opportunities and Challenges written by Hossain, Liaquat and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2001-07-01 with total page 300 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) refers to large commercial software packages that promise a seamless integration of information flow through an organization by combining various sources of information into a single software application and a single database. The outcome of ERP itself is still a mystery, but the trends and issues it has created will be the enigma that future generations will have to solve. Traditionally, separate units were created within an organization to carry out various tasks, and these functional areas would create their own information systems thereby giving rise to systems that were not integrated. ERP strives to provide a solution to these problems. Enterprise Resource Planning Solutions and Management examines the issues that need to be further studied and better understood to ensure successful implementation and deployment of ERP systems.
