Partant de ce constat, et en nous situant dans un contexte théorique Piagétien, nous avons souhaité explorer leurs compétences dans les structures logiques et d'utilisation du nombre. Nous souhaitions observer l'impact de la prématurité dans le niveau de raisonnement, et le cas échéant, l'influence du degré de prématurité dans les compétences. Nous avons donc proposé à 17 enfants âgés de 6 ans 4 mois à 8 ans 11 mois, sans troubles majeurs, nés entre 26 et 35 semaines d'aménorrhées, des épreuves issues de la Batterie Logico-Mathématique cycle II d'Emmanuelle Métral. Notre étude a permis de mettre en évidence un niveau inférieur à la norme attendue pour l'âge aux épreuves de logique chez la majorité des enfants et ce, dans plus d'une épreuve. L'importance du degré de prématurité semble, par ailleurs, accroître l'écart entre les performances obtenues et la norme attendue.

Dans notre recherche, nous nous sommes intéressées au langage implicite, nécessaire à la mise en place d’une communication efficace. Trois formes particulières d’implicite sont au coeur de notre étude : les inférences iconiques, l’ironie et les métaphores. Leur compréhension nécessite de générer des hypothèses, de se détacher du sens littéral et de se mettre à distance de ses perceptions. Pour ces raisons, nous avons émis l’hypothèse que le raisonnement logico-mathérnatique pourrait jouer un rôle dans l’interprétation de ces trois types d’implicite. Alors, un bon niveau de raisonnement logique est-il nécessaire à la compréhension de l’implicite ? Pour tenter de répondre à cett question, flous avons proposé un protocole de trois épreuves à deux groupes d’enfants de CM2 : 28 enfants tout-venant et 12 enfants avec troubles du raisonnement logico-mathématique. Nous avons choisi de tester les classifications multiplicatives (épreuve des dichotomies) et la conservation de la matière. Pour évaluer l’implicite, nous avons construit une épreuve ayant comme support une histoire en images à trous. Nos résultats montrent certains liens entre implicite et raisonnement logique. En particulier, les inférences iconiques et les métaphores sont mieux maîtrisées par les enfants avec un bon niveau logique. A l’inverse, les enfants qui ont une pensée peu mobile et à dominante figurative sont en difficulté pour traiter le sens non-littéral. Néanmoins, les liens entre logique et implicite sont rarement directs et d’autres facteurs ont un rôle. Dans la pratique orthophonique, nos résultats incitent à prendre en compte les difficultés pragmatiques des enfants suivis pour troubles du raisonnement logico mathématique, et inversement à considérer une composante logique chez les enfants qui n’accèdent pas au non-dit.

Book excerpt: Le développement de certains enfants se fait de manière hétérogène et provoque des difficultés d'apprentissage chez des enfants d'intelligence normale. Dans ce profil dysharmonique où les enfants ont développé de manière plus importante le versant verbal de la cognition au détriment du perceptif les troubles logico-mathématiques sont fréquents. Dans cette étude, nous avons vu dans un premier temps les particularités affectives, cognitives et comportementales qu'entraînait la dysharmonie cognitive ainsi que les différentes études réalisées à ce jour, concernant les troubles logico-mathématiques. Nous avons essayé par la suite d'établir les principales caractéristiques et troubles engendrés par l'association entre dysharmonie et dyscalculie afin de permettre une prise en charge la mieux adaptée. Une analyse clinique de cinq enfants semble montrer des corrélations entre les différents troubles évoqués. La dysharmonie cognitive et les faibles compétences en mémoire de travail se retrouvent souvent associées chez les enfants et adolescents. Si leurs compétences verbales ont été plus développées que leurs compétences perceptives, certaines lacunes se font néanmoins dans la gestion de leur langage oral. Nous constatons que les difficultés d'accès à l'abstraction sont présentes chez ces enfants et adolescents et augmentent avec l'âge; leur pensée, même chez de grands adolescents ne dépasse pas le stade préformel selon Piaget. Si l'on ne peut parler de trouble du langage, il s'avère nécessaire de prendre en considération ces données lors de leur prise en charge, dans la mesure où la rééducation des troubles logico-mathématiques ne peut s'intègrer hors d'un cadre large des domaines du langage. En regroupant les données établies par les bilans orthophoniques et neuropsychologique et l'analyse clinique de ces enfants, nous tentons d'obtenir une meilleure compréhension de ces profils particuliers. La richesse de ce travail permet d'adapter la prise en charge orthophonique. Il est nécessaire de pouvoir connaître l'organisation de la pensée et du langage, notamment chez ces enfants dont on connaît l'hétérogénéité du développement cognitif, afin de pouvoir intégrer, en parallèle, une remédiation dans les troubles concernant le raisonnement logique

Dans notre mémoire, nous partons de l'hypothèse que, majoritairement chez les enfants présentant des troubles du raisonnement logico-mathématique, on retrouve des difficultés de décodage de l'implicite, et ce parce qu'ils ont un fonctionnement de pensée particulier. Ces deux fonctionnements (la logique et l'implicite) demandent un fonctionnement de pensée au delà du figuratif. Nous réalisons une étude comparative entre des enfants dyscalculiques et tout-venant, âgés de sept à onze ans, face à des épreuves de décodage de l'implicite, à partir de supports linguistiques et iconiques. D'abord nous proposons des épreuves de logique pour savoir quelles sont les notions que l'enfant a construites et celles qu'il ne maîtrise pas encore. Nous testons la compréhension des implicites, les connaissances du monde, les notions de causes - conséquences, le but, l'humour, le repérage temporel, la sériation d'images, l'interprétation de signes iconiques, et la mobilité de pensée. Nous remarquons qu'un grand nombre d'enfants présentant des troubles logico-mathématiques, éprouvent des difficultés à s'adapter aux conventions langagières, à déduire les présuppositions et les déductions à partir des informations données explicitement, à comprendre les contenus implicites, sans doute parce qu'ils ne font pas suffisamment de liens logiques entre les données, ou des liens inadaptés.

The first part discusses the specificity of modern (1830–1950) and contemporary (1950 to the present) mathematics, and reviews the failure of mainstream philosophy of mathematics to address this specificity. At the beginning of Western philosophy, Aristotle contrasted beings formed by nature, which had within themselves a beginning of movement and rest, and man-made objects, which did not have the source of their own production within themselves. This book, the first of three volumes, revises the Aristotelian argument and develops an innovative assessment whereby the technical object can be seen as having an essential, distinct temporality and dynamics of its own. The Aristotelian concept persisted, in one form or another, until Marx, who conceived of the possibility of an evolution of technics. Lodged between mechanics and biology, a technical entity became a complex of heterogeneous forces. In a parallel development, while industrialization was in the process of overthrowing the contemporary order of knowledge as well as contemporary social organization, technology was acquiring a new place in philosophical questioning. Philosophy was for the first time faced with a world in which technical expansion was so widespread that science was becoming more and more subject to the field of instrumentality, with its ends determined by the imperatives of economic struggle or war, and with its epistemic status changing accordingly. The power that emerged from this new relation was unleashed in the course of the two world wars. Working his way through the history of the Aristotelian assessment of technics, the author engages the ideas of a wide range of thinkers--Rousseau, Husserl, and Heidegger, the paleo-ontologist Leroi-Gourhan, the anthropologists Vernant and Detienne, the sociologists Weber and Habermas, and the systems analysts Maturana and Varela.

Today we know that natural selection and evolution are far from synonymous and that they do not explain isomorphic phenomena in the world. ‘Taking Darwin seriously’ is the way to go, but today the time has come to take alternative and complementary theories that developed after the Modern Synthesis, equally seriously, and, furthermore, to examine how language and culture can merit from these diverse disciplines. As this volume will make clear, a specific inter- and transdisciplinary approach is one of the next crucial steps that needs to be taken, if we ever want to unravel the secrets of phenomena such as language and culture.

As it is only the subject that has access to this mental or physical action, the goal is to help the subject with the verbalization, putting the implicit knowledge of this action in words. Yet, to achieve this verbalization, we need guidance, because we don't know how to give such a description ourselves. If we leave the interviewee without guidance, he risks remaining in the implicit, speaking in a general way, or in an incomplete or imprecise way, commenting instead of describing. The explicit and precise description we aim is the opposite of the implicit, meaning a fine, detailed and complete way of putting the action in words.
