Book Netter s Atlas of Human Embryology

Download or read book Netter s Atlas of Human Embryology written by Larry R. Cochard and published by Netter Basic Science. This book was released on 2024-01-10 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Illustrated by the world-renowned Frank H. Netter, MD and artists working in his tradition, Netter's Atlas of Human Embryology, 2nd Edition, provides a rich pictorial overview of human prenatal development. For each stage of development and for each body system, you'll find a brief description of the developmental plan, with key concepts and terminology, followed by discussions of histological principles, the classification of congenital anomalies, and basic cellular, molecular, and genetic concepts. An emphasis on morphological patterns in the embryo and fetus makes it easy to understand the structure and function of the adult body and the embryonic basis of natural variation as well as birth anomalies. Uses vibrant, high-quality illustrations and concise text to teach key points quickly, effectively, and memorably. Includes new Inclusionary Consideration Points that detail key information such as differences between sex and gender-particularly for the embryology of sex determination; and perspectives on disability and disability advocacy-including person-first vs. identity-first language; plus new illustrations with more diversity and better representation of skin tones, sex, and body habitus. Discusses topics new to this edition, including Conjoined Twins, Early Detection of Pregnancy, Exstrophy of the Bladder, Genetic Sex Variations, Congenital Limb Anomalies, Holoprosencephaly, and more. Provides expanded coverage of clinical correlations and congenital anomalies and new Clinical Notes boxes throughout. Contains summary tables and terminology sections at the end of each chapter, plus an appendix with all major congenital anomalies and their embryonic basis, making it easy to review course material and prepare for the USMLE. An eBook version is included with purchase. The eBook allows you to access all of the text, figures and references, with the ability to search, make notes and highlights, and have content read aloud. Book The Human Body

    Book Details:
  • Author : Tony Smith
  • Publisher :
  • Release : 1995
  • ISBN : 9780751352719
  • Pages : 240 pages

Download or read book The Human Body written by Tony Smith and published by . This book was released on 1995 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The human body is made up of over 100 million cells. They are the tiny building blocks out of which the body's tissues and organs are formed, and together these parts make up a marvellously synchronised, living community. This exciting book uses spectacular medical drawings, plus images derived from new technologies, as an inspiring aid to understanding the anatomy and function of the body, and many of its common disorders. Images work together with crystal-clear language to bring the key concepts to life - such as how the heart keeps beating constantly throughout life, or how instructions for the entire body's growth are held in every single cell. Never before has it been possible to learn so much, so quickly, about the human body, both female and male, in sickness and in health, and from birth to old age.

Book Understanding Human Anatomy and Pathology

Download or read book Understanding Human Anatomy and Pathology written by Rui Diogo and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-09-03 with total page 351 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Understanding Human Anatomy and Pathology: An Evolutionary and Developmental Guide for Medical Students provides medical students with a much easier and more comprehensive way to learn and understand human gross anatomy by combining state-of-the-art knowledge about human anatomy, evolution, development, and pathology in one book. The book adds evolutionary, pathological, and developmental information in a way that reduces the difficulty and total time spent learning gross anatomy by making learning more logical and systematic. It also synthesizes data that would normally be available for students only by consulting several books at a time. Anatomical illustrations are carefully selected to follow the style of those seen in human anatomical atlases but are simpler in their overall configuration, making them easier to understand without overwhelming students with visual information. The book’s organization is also more versatile than most human anatomy texts so that students can refer to different sections according to their own learning styles. Because it is relatively short in length and easily transportable, students can take this invaluable book anywhere and use it to understand most of the structures they need to learn for any gross anatomy course.

Book Scientific Frontiers in Developmental Toxicology and Risk Assessment

Download or read book Scientific Frontiers in Developmental Toxicology and Risk Assessment written by National Research Council and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 2000-12-21 with total page 348 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scientific Frontiers in Developmental Toxicology and Risk Assessment reviews advances made during the last 10-15 years in fields such as developmental biology, molecular biology, and genetics. It describes a novel approach for how these advances might be used in combination with existing methodologies to further the understanding of mechanisms of developmental toxicity, to improve the assessment of chemicals for their ability to cause developmental toxicity, and to improve risk assessment for developmental defects. For example, based on the recent advances, even the smallest, simplest laboratory animals such as the fruit fly, roundworm, and zebrafish might be able to serve as developmental toxicological models for human biological systems. Use of such organisms might allow for rapid and inexpensive testing of large numbers of chemicals for their potential to cause developmental toxicity; presently, there are little or no developmental toxicity data available for the majority of natural and manufactured chemicals in use. This new approach to developmental toxicology and risk assessment will require simultaneous research on several fronts by experts from multiple scientific disciplines, including developmental toxicologists, developmental biologists, geneticists, epidemiologists, and biostatisticians.
