Book Proceedings of the First International Workshop on the Analysis of Multi temporal Remote Sensing Images

Download or read book Proceedings of the First International Workshop on the Analysis of Multi temporal Remote Sensing Images written by Lorenzo Bruzzone and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2002 with total page 455 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The development of effective methodologies for the analysis of multi-temporal data is one of the most important and challenging issues that the remote sensing community will face in the next few years. The importance and timeliness of this issue are directly related to the ever-increasing quantity of multi-temporal data provided by the numerous remote sensing satellites that orbit our planet. The synergistic use of multi-temporal remote sensing data and advanced analysis methodologies results in the possibility of solving complex problems related to the monitoring of the Earth's surface and atmosphere. This book brings together the methodological aspects of multi-temporal remote sensing image analysis, real applications and end-user requirements, presenting the state of the art in this field and contributing to the definition of common research priorities. Researchers and graduate students in the fields of environmental monitoring, remote sensing image analysis and pattern recognition will appreciate the interdisciplinary approach thanks to the articles written by experts from different scientific communities.

Book Digital Photogrammetry

Download or read book Digital Photogrammetry written by Yves Egels and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2001-11-08 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Photogrammetry is the use of photography for surveying primarily and is used for the production of maps from aerial photographs. Along with remote sensing, it represents the primary means of generating data for Geographic Information Systems (GIS). As technology develops, it is becoming easier to gain access to it. The cost of digital photogrammetr

Book Handbook of Pattern Recognition and Computer Vision

Download or read book Handbook of Pattern Recognition and Computer Vision written by C. H. Chen and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1999 with total page 1045 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The very significant advances in computer vision and pattern recognition and their applications in the last few years reflect the strong and growing interest in the field as well as the many opportunities and challenges it offers. The second edition of this handbook represents both the latest progress and updated knowledge in this dynamic field. The applications and technological issues are particularly emphasized in this edition to reflect the wide applicability of the field in many practical problems. To keep the book in a single volume, it is not possible to retain all chapters of the first edition. However, the chapters of both editions are well written for permanent reference.

Book Polar Remote Sensing

    Book Details:
  • Author : Dan Lubin
  • Publisher : Springer Science & Business Media
  • Release : 2006-08-31
  • ISBN : 3540307850
  • Pages : 868 pages

Download or read book Polar Remote Sensing written by Dan Lubin and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-08-31 with total page 868 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The polar regions, perhaps more than any other places on Earth, give the geophysical scientist a sense of exploration. This sensibility is genuine, for not only is high-latitude ?eldwork arduous with many locations seldom or never visited, but there remains much fundamental knowledge yet to be discovered about how the polar regions interact with the global climate system. The range of opportunities for new discovery becomes strikingly clear when we realize that the high latitudes are not one region but are really two vastly di?erent worlds. The high Arctic is a frozen ocean surrounded by land, and is home to fragile ecosystems and unique modes of human habitation. The Antarctic is a frozen continent without regular human habitation, covered by ice sheets taller than many mountain ranges and surrounded by the Earth’s most forbidding ocean. When we consider global change as applied to the Arctic, we discuss impacts to a region whose surface and lower atmospheric temperatures are near the triple point of water throughout much of the year. The most consistent signatures of climate warming have occurred at northern high latitudes (IPCC, 2001), and the potential impacts of a few degrees increase in surface temperature include a reduction in sea ice extent, a positive feedback to climate warming due to lowering of surface albedo, and changes to surface runo? that might a?ect the Arctic Ocean’s salinity and circulation.

Book Advanced Array Systems Applications and RF Technologies

Download or read book Advanced Array Systems Applications and RF Technologies written by Nicholas Fourikis and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2000-05-31 with total page 394 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advanced Array Systems, Applications and RF Technologies adopts a holistic view of arrays used in radar, electronic warfare, communications, remote sensing and radioastronomy. Radio frequency [RF] and intermediate frequency [IF] signal processing is assuming a fundamental importance, owing to its increasing ability to multiply a system's capabilities in a cost-effective manner. This book comprehensively covers the important front-end RF subsystems of active phased arrays, so offering array designers new and exciting opportunities in signal processing. This book: * provides an up to date record of existing systems from different applications * explores array systems under development * bridges the gap between textbook coverage of idealized phased arrays and practical knowledge of working phased arrays * recognises the significance of cost to the realization of phased arrays * discusses future advances in the field that promise to deliver even more affordable arrays ['intelligent' or self-focussing/-cohering arrays] Engineers and scientists in the radar and RF technology industry will welcome the detailed description of array elements, polarisers, T/R modules and beamformers in Advanced Array Systems, Applications and RF Technologies. This book is also appropriate for postgraduate and advanced undergraduate students in electronic engineering, and for technical managers, researchers and students in the fields of radioastronomy and remote sensing. This book is a volume in the Signal Processing and its Applications series, edited by Richard Green and Truong Nguyen.
