Adrian’s never bothered to watch it, but he’s one hundred percent sure it’s not his scene. Zephyr Raine, up and coming ASMRtist, streams nightly to adoring fans and spends all of his money on iced coffee during the day. Zeph’s unusual career helps Adrian pay the rent on time, so Adrian doesn’t mind overlooking some of Zeph’s more bizarre behaviors, like his obsession with a local café. But when Zeph asks Adrian to moderate his stream one Friday night, Adrian’s surprised at exactly how much he enjoys watching Zeph on camera and how much it changes everything between them... Iced Coffee & Friday Night Favors is a short and steamy M/M roommates-to-lovers story featuring a tabby cat shifter and his strange roommate. It's set in the same version of paranormal Portland as KP Maxwell’s Men of Café Seuil series.
Download or read book The Franz Josef Land Archipelago written by E.B. Baldwin and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2015-01-27 with total page 197 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Franz Josef Land is a forbidding place, isolated by geography and history. Lying above the Arctic Circle in the northernmost province of Russia, this remote series of islands was only discovered by Westerners in 1873, and remains little known today. A few intrepid explorers ventured there in the late 19th century as a stepping-stone in attempts to reach the North Pole. Chicago journalist Walter Wellman led the first American expedition to the archipelago as part of a polar expedition in 1898-1899. His second-in-command, Evelyn Briggs Baldwin, kept a journal documenting their trip. This previously unpublished journal reveals much about one of the last great periods of exploration--including the violence, chicanery, and racism that characterized much of American exploration and expansion. Baldwin's journal, reproduced here, paints a more realistic picture of the expedition than did Wellman's communiques sent home for mass consumption. Correspondence between Baldwin and Wellman is included, and expedition notes list the supplies carried, descriptions of geographic features observed in the course of the trip, and the doctor's notes on treatments, remedies and supplies. Editor P.J. Capelotti provides an extended introduction, and the text is illustrated with maps, depictions of dramatic events occurring on the trip, and several photographs.

Book excerpt: A dangerous man . . . The man who'd broken into Elizabeth Hardy's Colorado house was no lost ski bum. Her inexplicable and intuitive powers, those unwanted gifts, were always vague, but she knew that much. Sam Oliver was tall, dark, and deadly--a liar and a trickster, and she'd finally found a man she couldn't ignore. Off limits . . . She didn't look like a fraud and a liar, and after years in Army Intelligence Col. Sam Oliver should know. Instead Elizabeth Hardy was a pale, vulnerable-looking waif, though he didn't buy her innocent act. He'd always made it a rule to keep his hands off his targets. Some rules were made to be broken. Unanswered questions . . . With a young housewife missing and presumed dead, there were no simple answers to any number of questions. Why did the missing woman look exactly like the also-missing daughter of the secretary of state? Why did Elizabeth want to trust him, why did Sam suddenly want to believe in psychics? For God's sake, why couldn't they resist each other? And the biggest question of all: would they survive to find out what was going on between them? Or was all hell about to break loose?
