Download or read book You Love Your Daddy Don t You written by Sarah Harrison and published by CCB Publishing. This book was released on 2008-03 with total page 315 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Mama, something terrible is wrong with me. There is blood in my panties!" Those were the words of seven-year-old Sarah. Mama told her she must have fallen or something and not to worry. Sarah went away feeling sad; her chance for help was gone! It was Sarah's alter, Susie, who had been sticking pencils and other items in her private place. Susie had come when Sarah was only four years old. Susie had become Daddy's 'special' little girl by sitting on his lap. In return he gave her a dollar for any change she had. Daddy played with Susie's pee pee and it was Susie that slept in the upstairs bedroom with her fourteen-year-old brother. Later in life, two other alters would appear. "You Love Your Daddy, Don't You?" is told through the memories of Sarah. It reveals a child's determination to survive despite profound emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. This was compounded by constant neglect from both parents. About the Author: Sarah Harrison has written several articles for the Women's Institute for Incorporation Therapy's monthly newsletter as well as articles for spiritual magazines. She also volunteers as a mentor in a local school system, helps with special group activities in an assisted living home, and provides guidance to troubled parents and teens on www.experts.com. After the death of her husband, Sarah Harrison moved from Atlanta, Georgia in 2007 to a suburb near Charlotte, North Carolina to be near her grandchildren. She has joined Harrison United Methodist Church and is active in Youth Group, Emmaus, Epiphany, and Faith Partners.

In this, the first anthology of nonfiction prose to explore this issue in depth, editor Steven Shepherd has collected a diverse and invariably compelling group of narratives about sons and their fathers. "Fourteen excellent essays by some of our best writers," says Anne Morris of the Austin American-Statesman. Among the contributors: James Baldwin, who reflects in his classic "Notes of a Native Son," on the father he barely knew, "partly because we shared, in our different fashions, the vice of stubborn pride." The brothers Geoffrey and Tobias Wolff, who write of their father from dramatically different perspectives. A second-generation undertaker, Thomas Lynch, who writes lovingly of burying his father. And the acclaimed scholar of African-American culture, Henry Louis Gates, Jr., who grew up with a father who "was not a race man," yet their arguments were vital to the son's education.

Book The Fathers Words The Light to Our Path

Download or read book The Fathers Words The Light to Our Path written by DaEUR(tm)Edra FrugA(c) and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2024-02-12 with total page 166 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Father's Words: The Light to Our Path reminds how life is a journey filled with joy, sorrow, and unforeseen circumstances. Learning how to navigate through each one is a journey in itself. Each personal story tells how easy it is to misinterpret the events in life and how that leads to inaccurate perceptions. Though many events in our pasts are good, many find us over our heads in uncharted waters scrambling to come out on the other side. However, we come to learn if we allow those experiences to guide our thoughts, we remain victims who are perpetually trapped by the walls we construct for safety, confused by what we think defines us, or constantly searching for purpose. There is a place, God's Word, where we learn that He is our Father, our Creator, who continually oversees His creation, counsels us with His eye on us, and faithfully guides to redeem us to Himself through His Son, Jesus. Every verse presented in these pages tells how God as the Father uses His words to align His children's perspectives, thoughts, and hearts to His. Discover for yourself how He proves by His words that He can be known and trusted. Allow them to be the light to your path to direct and conform you more into the likeness of His Son as you journey through life.
