Book I m Not Weird I m Just Quiet

Download or read book I m Not Weird I m Just Quiet written by J. F. Wiegand and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2017-05-21 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There's something you need to know about Colin Quigley--something he wished everyone knew--he's just quiet, there's nothing actually wrong with him. He's not weird, he's not creepy, and he doesn't have a medical condition. Colin simply doesn't talk much. In fact, his talk-capacity is only three-hundred and thirteen words. Once he reaches that limit, things get ugly. He becomes tired, grumpy, and eventually shuts down completely. Luckily, Colin has discovered a few tricks to keep his talk-capacity under control. He sits by himself on the bus, rushes through meals to avoid excessive conversation, and fakes the occasional case of laryngitis. All things considered though, Colin has a nice, quiet life. That is, until his loud, obnoxious cousin Reagan comes to live with him. Reagan rips through the Quigley family like a talking-jackhammer. With his talk-capacity depleted and his energy level crumbling, Colin devises a plan to restore quiet to his house. But to carry out his plan, Colin Quigley will have to do something he's never done before--he'll have to out-talk a talker.

Book Weird in a World That s Not

Download or read book Weird in a World That s Not written by Jennifer Romolini and published by HarperCollins. This book was released on 2017-06-06 with total page 209 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An honest, sharp-witted, practical guide to help you get and keep the job you want—from an outsider whose been there and done it, a woman who went from being a broke, divorced, college dropout to running some of the biggest websites in the world. Jennifer Romolini started her career as an awkward twenty-seven-year-old misfit, navigated her way through New York media and became a boss—an editor-in-chief, an editorial director, and a vice president—all within little more than a decade. Her book, Weird In A World That’s Not, asserts that being outside-the-norm and achieving real, high-level success are not mutually exclusive, even if the perception of the business world often seems otherwise, even if it seems like only office-politicking extroverts are set up for reward. Part career memoir, part real-world guide, Weird in a World That’s Not offers relatable advice on how to achieve your dreams, even when the odds seem stacked against you. Romolini helps you face down your fears, find a career that’s right for you, and get and keep a job. She tackles practical issues and offers empathetic, clear-cut answers to important questions: How do I navigate the awkwardness of networking? How do I deal with intense office politics? How do I leave my crappy job? How do I learn how to be a boss not just a #boss? And, most importantly: How do I do all this and stay true to who I really am? Authentic, funny, and moving, Weird in a World That’s Not will help you tap into your inner tenacity and find your path, no matter how offbeat you are.

Book Keep Christianity Weird

Download or read book Keep Christianity Weird written by Michael Frost and published by NavPress. This book was released on 2018-09-04 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jesus is different. Go and do likewise. Many Christians have become comfortable letting the world mold them instead of being set apart by God. And many churches have traded in their biblical roots for complacent conventionality. But Jesus and the church are anything but conventional. The hallmark of our faith is that it sees the world differently than the world sees itself. We are called to be eccentric—off center, unique, different; not conformed to the patterns of the world but transformed by the renewing of our minds. By the grace of God we are not only dissatisfied by sin but increasingly uncompelled by conventionality. So resist the allure of acceptability. Get back to the unsafe roots of our faith. Be equipped to surprise the world with the Good News it didn’t even know it was waiting for. Challenge the way things are by living a life that has been truly set free by Christ.
