Book How to Become a Pharmacy Technician

Download or read book How to Become a Pharmacy Technician written by Rebecca Wilder and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2015-06-14 with total page 94 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Becoming a pharmacy technician was one of the best decisions I ever made. It wasn't something that I had considered until I was faced with being laid off at my previous job. After working 50 hours a week for $9 an hour, I suddenly found myself in serious trouble. I could not find a job that would pay more than minimum wage. With more time on my hands, I started looking into what I could do with my life. Up to that point I hadn't really picked a job and was just happy to be employed. Now I was faced with not only being unemployed, but with having to decide where I wanted my future to be. Being laid off was one of the best things to ever happen to me because I finally had to think about my future. If you are unsure what you want to do or if you don't have the time to dedicate to a four year degree, you can still take control of your life. There are several paths to becoming a pharmacy technician. Most states require technicians to be certified before they can be employed. I was able to get my certification in about a month. If you choose to study for the certification exam on your own, like I did, there are numerous resources online that can help you prepare. If you would prefer more of a traditional approach to getting certified, many community colleges and vocational schools offer courses. I've been surprised at how flexible my schedule has been. From work weeks that are only 3 or 4 days long to job stability, I didn't need anything beyond my high school degree and my certification to become a pharmacy technician. It is one of the fastest growing fields, which means you will also have more job stability than most other occupations. My favorite part of the job is that at the end of the day I know that I helped other people. Whatever it is you want out of your future career, pharmacy technician can set you on the right path.

It permeates the mind of the authors as she investigates ways to combat the disease. She becomes a fierce warrior against the disease. Because of the deep faith in God possessed by the author, the journal becomes instrumental in helping not only her but uses the journal as a means of helping others who maybe questioning Why me? and going through the same insurmountable journey. The spiritually filled journal provides many valuable tips on how to remain serene, healthy, and positive as she maneuvers through chemotherapy and radiation. It gives clues to avoid falling into dangerous routines and false information. The author enjoys soulful southern cooking, which became a lifeline for her very survival. She uses this somber time to write, reflect, and experiment with delicious recipes, which accounted for her positive outcomes and the most satisfying, mouthwatering recipes one would ever hope to devour. Although struck with a horrifying disease, this author took the high road and determined that with God, all things are possible and that nothing could interfere with the life and goals she still needed to conquer. Cancer was only a tool to a much greater means. Her mission was to reach as many people as possible to let them know that God would provide them with life abundantly.

Book Returning to Love

Download or read book Returning to Love written by Sharon Edwards and published by Balboa Press. This book was released on 2014-12-18 with total page 335 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hurry, honey, I see the light. I have to go. Come kiss me bye. Bye, baby, I love you. These are the last words my husband said to me when he transitioned. It had been a long and tortuous path to enlightenment. He got to see into heaven three weeks before he transitioned. He could not believe the love. We both learned life lessons and grew spiritually. It had been a long journey for Richard and me, but we both learned lessons of strength, love, forgiveness, and, most importantly, the enlightenment needed to release the fear of death. This is a journal of our love and living with Richards Alzheimers and Parkinsons, prostate cancer, and congestive heart failure. I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, and I am relating the coping mechanisms I used to deal with Richards transition and the transition of my mom nine months before Richard. The journey taken by those who are caregivers is a lonely one at times. Coming to an acceptance is as hard for the caregiver and family and friends as it is for the one you loveaccepting the fact that no matter how positive your thoughts, the healing for your loved one may be a healing of his or her soul and not of the body. Then you and your loved one can walk his or her path together. Your support can make your loved ones transition peaceful and loving. As you help loved ones to lose their fear of dying, you will learn of the beauty and love awaiting them in heaven. This will aid in your healing when your loved ones transition to heaven. There will be sadness, and tears will flow because they are gone and not physically with you anymore. You can find strength and peace in knowing that the care you gave allowed your loved ones to die with dignity surrounded by love and support and without fear.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Named a Best Book of 2018 by Fast Company, this is a "sharply written and brilliantly reported" (Shelf Awareness) look inside Reddit, the wildly popular, often misunderstood website that has changed the culture of the Internet. Reddit hails itself as "the front page of the Internet." It's the third most-visited website in the United States -- and yet, millions of Americans have no idea what it is. We Are the Nerds is an engrossing look deep inside this captivating, maddening enterprise, whose army of obsessed users have been credited with everything from solving cold case crimes and spurring tens of millions of dollars in charitable donations to seeding alt-right fury and landing Donald Trump in the White House. We Are the Nerds is a gripping start-up narrative: the story of how Reddit's founders, Steve Huffman and Alexis Ohanian, rose up from their suburban childhoods to become millionaires and create an icon of the digital age -- before seeing the site engulfed in controversies and nearly losing control of it for good. Based on Christine Lagorio-Chafkin's exclusive access to founders Ohanian and Huffman, We Are the Nerds is also a compelling exploration of the way we all communicate today -- and how we got here. Reddit and its users have become a mirror of the Internet: it has dingy corners, shiny memes, malicious trolls, and a sometimes heart-melting ability to connect people across cultures, oceans, and ideological divides.

Book Shucked

    Book Details:
  • Author : Erin Byers Murray
  • Publisher : St. Martin's Press
  • Release : 2011-10-11
  • ISBN : 1429989092
  • Pages : 365 pages

Download or read book Shucked written by Erin Byers Murray and published by St. Martin's Press. This book was released on 2011-10-11 with total page 365 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bill Buford's Heat meets Phoebe Damrosch's Service Included in this unique blend of personal narrative, food miscellany, and history In March of 2009, Erin Byers Murray ditched her pampered city girl lifestyle and convinced the rowdy and mostly male crew at Island Creek Oysters in Duxbury, Massachusetts, to let a completely unprepared, aquaculture-illiterate food and lifestyle writer work for them for a year to learn the business of oysters. The result is Shucked—part love letter, part memoir and part documentary about the world's most beloved bivalves. Providing an in-depth look at the work that goes into getting oysters from farm to table, Shucked shows Erin's fullcircle journey through the modern day oyster farming process and tells a dynamic story about the people who grow our food, and the cutting-edge community of weathered New England oyster farmers who are defying convention and looking ahead. The narrative also interweaves Erin's personal story—the tale of how a technology-obsessed workaholic learns to slow life down a little bit and starts to enjoy getting her hands dirty (and cold). This is a book for oyster lovers everywhere, but also a great read for locavores and foodies in general.
