Download or read book To Sell Is Human written by Daniel H. Pink and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2012-12-31 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Look out for Daniel Pink’s new book, When: The Scientific Secrets of Perfect Timing #1 New York Times Business Bestseller #1 Wall Street Journal Business Bestseller #1 Washington Post bestseller From the bestselling author of Drive and A Whole New Mind, and teacher of the popular MasterClass on Sales and Persuasion, comes a surprising--and surprisingly useful--new book that explores the power of selling in our lives. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, one in nine Americans works in sales. Every day more than fifteen million people earn their keep by persuading someone else to make a purchase. But dig deeper and a startling truth emerges: Yes, one in nine Americans works in sales. But so do the other eight. Whether we’re employees pitching colleagues on a new idea, entrepreneurs enticing funders to invest, or parents and teachers cajoling children to study, we spend our days trying to move others. Like it or not, we’re all in sales now. To Sell Is Human offers a fresh look at the art and science of selling. As he did in Drive and A Whole New Mind, Daniel H. Pink draws on a rich trove of social science for his counterintuitive insights. He reveals the new ABCs of moving others (it's no longer "Always Be Closing"), explains why extraverts don't make the best salespeople, and shows how giving people an "off-ramp" for their actions can matter more than actually changing their minds. Along the way, Pink describes the six successors to the elevator pitch, the three rules for understanding another's perspective, the five frames that can make your message clearer and more persuasive, and much more. The result is a perceptive and practical book--one that will change how you see the world and transform what you do at work, at school, and at home.

Book excerpt: Being a Christian sales person is going to be tricky. That's what I thought as I entered my first professional sales position. In retrospect, my life as a Christian sales person was confusing, gut-wrenchingly difficult, frustrating, and wonderfully rewarding. I dealt with questions that you may also face: - How do I balance the need to get results with the Christian ethic of leaving the outcomes to Christ? - Where do I go for support and encouragement in a church where I'm seen as a second class citizen? - How and when do I voice my beliefs on the job, when my employer is not paying me to do that? - How do I maintain my perspective when some of the professional Christians around me are so much more manipulative and deceitful than any secular acquaintance? - How do I maintain my Christian ethics inside a company that supports just the opposite? - How do I grow a consulting practice with no resources and no network? Here's my story.

Book excerpt: True or false? In selling high-value products or services: 'closing' increases your chance of success; it is essential to describe the benefits of your product or service to the customer; objection handling is an important skill; open questions are more effective than closed questions. All false, says this provocative book. Neil Rackham and his team studied more than 35,000 sales calls made by 10,000 sales people in 23 countries over 12 years. Their findings revealed that many of the methods developed for selling low-value goods just don‘t work for major sales. Rackham went on to introduce his SPIN-Selling method. SPIN describes the whole selling process: Situation questions Problem questions Implication questions Need-payoff questions SPIN-Selling provides you with a set of simple and practical techniques which have been tried in many of today‘s leading companies with dramatic improvements to their sales performance.
Download or read book Eliminate Your Competition written by Sean O'Shaughnessey and published by . This book was released on 2018-05-14 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most salespeople lose the deal before they ever get started! It isn't uncommon for the customer to have already made a decision before most salespeople even learn of the opportunity. Most salespeople have to beat the preferred competitor by a significant margin just to be considered equivalent. Don't you wish that you could be the preferred vendor in all of your opportunities? Selling is a difficult career in which to make a living; it is not uncommon to have the commission check denied before the salesperson even gets a chance to win. Analysis of thousands of sales situations has made it phenomenally obvious that most salespeople begin their sales campaign so late in the decision-making process that they are virtually guaranteed to lose the order. To make matters worse, when they do start the campaign early enough, most salespeople do not know how to control the prospect adequately so that they can guarantee their victory. Typical turnover for a sales department is 10-20%. Many companies see turnover that approaches 40-60%! This turnover costs them 50% of their revenue-generating capability. In any organization that exceeds 25% turnover, the loss of trust with the customer can be astounding as the new salesperson tries to rebuild the entire relationship. In any given quarter dozens or hundreds of companies do not make their forecasted numbers and are dramatically punished by Wall Street. This book will provide the management of a company with a framework to teach their salespeople how to attain their quotas with higher profits. It will also allow salespeople to rise to the top of their organization and be the super-achievers who win awards, trips, bonuses, and respect. In this book, I will show you how to eliminate your competition and maximize your commission.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Become a better salesperson by learning to debunk the sales myths and focus your strategy on a proven approach that will drive the results you want. Can succeeding in sales be as simple as hooking up the latest CRM tool or perfecting your social media profiles and waiting for qualified leads to show up in your inbox? Are you having trouble believing what the new self-proclaimed “experts” post on LinkedIn and beginning to question their proclamation that everything in sales has changed? The one constant in the world of sales is the noise from self-titled experts and thought leaders informing you of the latest tools, tricks, and strategies that you should utilize. However, ironically, the more modern solutions you adopt, the harder it is to get results. Bestselling author and sales expert Mike Weinberg offers a wake-up call to salespeople and sales leaders on how to bypass the noise so you can start winning more, new sales. In Sales Truth, Weinberg shares some of the truths you’ll learn including: Many self-proclaimed sales experts lack clients, credibility, and a track record of helping sellers achieve breakthrough results. The number of “likes” a sales improvement article receives is often inversely proportional to its accuracy or helpfulness to?a seller or sales team. What has worked exceedingly well in sales and sales management for the past couple of decades is still the (not so) secret to sales success today. Look no further than Weinberg’s powerful principles and proven strategies to help you become a professional sales master and create more new sales opportunities.

Download or read book Anti Sell written by Steve Morgan and published by . This book was released on 2019-03-24 with total page 212 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Repeat after me: I. Hate. Sales." Sales is the bane of the freelancing life. As freelancers, all we want to do is crack on and do the work we enjoy doing (whatever that work/specialism may be), but in order to do that, we have to sell ourselves to people first. ...Ack. One of the biggest challenges that freelancers face is the sales process. Don't just take my word for it: various polls conducted in freelance communities show that "finding new leads/customers/clients" is what freelancers self-identify as their biggest weakness and the area of self-employment that they struggle with the most. We see it as an intimidating and overwhelming prospect, with many of us considering 'selling yourself' as a slimy, sleazy process. We have to go out to business events, hand out business cards and brag about ourselves to complete strangers, right? Wrong. Well, you can do that, sure. ...Or you can sell yourself in a way that really isn't sales-y at all. The best way to sell is not to sell. Let that sink in. The best way to sell is not to sell. It sounds completely and utterly counterintuitive, but it's the truth. Hence the name of this book: Anti-Sell. And in this book, I'll tell you how and why it works, and how to do it. Its chapters cover the following: There's a long list of sales, marketing, networking and lead generation tactics and tips, to give you an idea of some of the traditional ways - but also a number of alternative ways - to get your name and your face out there, How you can tie the sales process into your passions and your strengths - so that sales won't even feel like sales, Getting you thinking differently about the types of events/communities to go to and get involved with, resulting in potentially being the only [insert specialism here] person in the room, rather than spending your time networking alongside your competitors, How being visible, altruistic and contributory within communities is an incredible way to be recognised as the go-to person in your field, There's tips and advice on how to find 'good-fit' clients, as well as why honing in on a niche makes you a lot easier to refer, Plus it covers a whole bunch of other sales-related topics, such as testimonials, awards, how to handle 'freebie' requests, competing against agencies for work, and keeping your cool in stressful moments, Right at the end, there's a list of recommended books for further reading, to help you to take your non-sales-y sales tactics even further, Throughout the book there's also 'Anti-Sell Stories': 8 case studies contributed by real-life freelancers, each of whom details how they've fought the fight with sales (and won). An important note: I'm not a salesperson. I'm a freelancer, just like you. This book runs through my story, my journey and my tactics on how I've managed to win work without selling myself too much (or selling my soul too much, for that matter). So if you're a freelancer who hates the idea of sales and selling yourself, then hopefully this book will suit you and serve you well. Happy Anti-Selling, folks.

Download or read book 10 Commandments of Successful Sales written by Rahul Mookerjee and published by 0 Excuses Fitness. This book was released on 2017-12-26 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 10 … nay, TWENTY tips that if USED correctly will catapult your sales abilities to the VERY TOP rung of ACHIEVEMENT, and keep you there. And yes – they will work in ANY sales situation, and ANY economy. Join me on this ride as I walk you through the 10 tips, each one of them power packed with info that WILL allow you to sell in ANY situation regardless of what. Did I just say 10? I think I ended up giving you more than 10 - 15 or 16, if I recall correctly, and each of THOSE tips is a gold nugget by itself. Underpromise, and OVERDELIVER. A tip unto itself and deservedly so, and that is pretty much what I have done throughout this entire book (or short course, if you so choose). In the winter of 2007, I joined a small startup company as a sales manager-cum-“senior person”. The company was a rank startup. They had literally three people working there including myself, and the other two were the HR and operations managers. The parents company a fairly successful BPO company, and they had been in business for about 8 years. They were looking to expand into web development, and they didn’t have a clue as to how to get clients, despite having a VERY successful sales manager at the helm in terms of BPO operations. He had been there since the company’s inception and probably still IS working there.Despite a lot of clients literally “coming to their doorstep”. They did a pretty good job at BPO, and a lot of those clients wanted websites built, so naturally, this company was the one they’d contact. Now, you’d think it would be child’s play to “convert” those “leads”, right? In fact, any sales person would tell you they’re basically the human version of “sitting ducks” in terms of sales. And all this was BEFORE the financial crisis of 2008, mind you. Folks were happy to spend money on things that did not have a 100% guarantee in terms of success. So it stands to reason that this sales manager should have literally converted those leads as easily as saying “voila”, especially considering some of the clients were actually ASKING him, get this, ASKING him to build sites for them. But that was not the case.He couldn’t close those leads despite months and months of follow ups, phone calls, what have you. And so after an initial interview, they hired me. And within the space of TWO weeks, I got the first client. Small fry to be honest, I think the total order was about 1000 USD, but remember this company was in India. Calculate costs etc accordingly.Within the space of SIX months, this company had expanded to 40 plus employees, and was making between 25000-30000 USD a month. I left the company at that point (which in itself is another story, and one I’ll touch upon later), but those are the results. And if you're part of the "gang" that believes it was a "fluke" or that I "just connected" - well - I have this to say to you - THINK AGAIN, my friend. It was NOT coincidence - there is no such beast as coincidence in life. It's called doing what is normally NOT done - and literally "thinking your way to RIP-ROARING sales with minimal effort". It’s information that can be gleaned only from having BEEN IN THE TRENCHES. And I’ve been there, my friend. Oh yes, I HAVE.And now, I'm willing to share it with you, my friend. Make haste and order NOW! Very best, Rahul P.S. - Still "on the fence"? Well, if you're willing to go through the frustrations of not being able to make sales despite trying EVERYTHING possible - well - be my guest and ignore this book. But if you're ready to make the leap to the NEXT - and QUANTUM level in terms of sales, then wait NO longer, my friend. Click the order button NOW and watch a whole new world open up to you. P.P.S. - And if you believe that "you've already seen it all", well, you're sadly mistaken my friend. Conventional techniques will NOT, and HAVE NOT worked as well as what I tell you in the book does. Grab your copy now, and find out!
