Book excerpt: The Lord is Wonderful and is my Bright and Morning Star. He is the Lifter Up Of My Head, my Light, my Strength, my Rock, my Sanctuary and my Refuge. He is the First and the Last, the Almighty and the Chief Among Ten Thousand. He is my Mercy, my Goodness, my Loving Kindness and my Steadfast Love. He is My Prince, my Immanuel and my Father. Come with me and explore the riches and wonders of God's character, through His names and descriptions in the Bible. We will get to know Him better, enter into a deeper intimate relationship with Him and be able to say, "Yes, He is altogether lovely; He is my beloved." Along with my previous two books, "Love Me Passionately" and "You Are Everything," this book encourages you to interact with the Scriptures. This was something done by Joshua, the apostle Paul as well as our Lord. As you speak aloud the text, you will learn the benefits of confessing the Truth, your faith will grow and you will be able to trust God more. Lord, there are times when life does not seem to be fair, but You are good. There are times when it is difficult to lift up my head to You, but You are good. There are times when it is hard to say, "I love You," but You are good. Lord, when I am struggling and in despair, help me, for You are good. Paul F Taylor

Book Voices from Within Grotowski s Polish Collaborators

Download or read book Voices from Within Grotowski s Polish Collaborators written by Paul Allain and published by Polish Theatre Perspectives. This book was released on 2015-01-01 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Voices from Within: Grotowski’s Polish Collaborators brings together, for the first time in English, the distinctive voices of renowned director Jerzy Grotowski’s Polish colleagues, providing a rare insight into different areas of their research and work. Through conversations, recollections, journal entries, images, working notes, and other testimonies, the collection opens up a range of perspectives on this changing practice — both within and beyond the theatre — from the actors, artists, designers, producers, administrators, and investigators who co-created it. The book spans the full period of Grotowski’s career, from the ‘theatre of productions’ phase, through paratheatre and Theatre of Sources, to the final phase of ‘Art as vehicle’ following his emigration from Poland. What emerges from these narratives is a genuinely collaborative endeavour that, as Grotowski himself comments within — in a note distributed with the Laboratory Theatre’s touring productions — is often mistakenly associated with ‘his name and his name alone’. Voices from Within makes an important contribution to international understanding of this work, by offering a multi-vocal ‘insiders’ account’ of the collective and individual searches, uncertainties, discoveries, and experiences that accompanied many of Grotowski’s long-time creative partnerships. This title is available in paperback and as an Open Access ebook.

Book Secrets at Research 2022

Download or read book Secrets at Research 2022 written by BJ Jones and published by Author House. This book was released on 2010-09-28 with total page 170 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Secret of Research 2022 In life things are not always as they appear. The research community views the vast majority of the researchers as honest, giving, devoted scientist, most of whom are. This is a story of two that have no clue as to the meaning of any of these qualities: Honest: If they can get away with it, so what if it takes a little lie? Giving: Sure, as long as they are the recipients. Devoted: By all means to the all mighty dollar. It is hard to comprehend anyone with such wonderful families could be so using, abusing and deceptive as these two Doctors. For years the two have used their positions in the research community to offer help to those with money and wish to start a family and for some reason are unable to conceive. For the right price they will help them, if things go wrong, so what. That's how it is with black market procedures preformed in a research lab, no matter how elegant they have made it. The customer has no-one to turn to if things go wrong. They are so intent upon doing others in, that they have forgotten one very important fact in business: `Be careful who you trust.' With the government moving in on them they have no clue as to who the true informant is. We can only hope they get what they deserve in the end!

Book Roald Dahl s Marvellous Medicine

Download or read book Roald Dahl s Marvellous Medicine written by Tom Solomon and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2016 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most people know Roald Dahl as a famous writer of children's books and adult short stories, but few are aware of his fascination with medicine. Right from his earliest days to the end of his life, Dahl was intrigued by what doctors do, and why they do it. During his lifetime, he and his family suffered some terrible medical tragedies: Dahl nearly died when his fighter plane went down in World War II; his son had severe brain injury in an accident; and his daughter died of measles infection of the brain. But he also had some medical triumphs: he dragged himself back to health after the plane crash, despite a skull fracture, back injuries, and blindness; he was responsible for inventing a medical device (the Wade-Dahl-Till valve) to treat his son's hydrocephalus (water on the brain), and he taught his first wife Patricia to talk again after a devastating stroke. His medical interactions clearly influenced some of his writing - for example the explosive potions in George's Marvellous Medicine. And sometimes his writing impacted on events in his life - for example the research on neuroanatomy he did for his short story William and Mary later helped him design the valve for treating hydrocephalus. In this unique book, Professor Tom Solomon, who looked after Dahl towards the end of his life, examines Dahl's fascination with medicine. Taking examples from Dahl's life, and illustrated with excerpts from his writing, the book uses Dahl's medical interactions as a starting point to explore some extraordinary areas of medical science. Solomon is an award-winning science communicator, and he effortlessly explains the medical concepts underpinning the stories, in language that everyone can understand. The book is also peppered with anecdotes from Dahl''s late night hospital discussions with Solomon, which give new insights into this remarkable man's thinking as his life came to an end.
