CHEC-III builds on and complements the material in CHEC and CHEC-II and is designed to be used both alone and in conjunction with these two works. Written by leading scientists who have evaluated and summarized the most important data published over the last decade, Comprehensive Heterocyclic Chemistry III will be an invaluable addition to the reference library of those working with heterocyclic ring systems. Reviews advances in the properties, structure, synthesis, reactivity and applications of the most important heterocyclic ring systems Contains over 250 specialist reviews, logically organized by size and heteroatom content of the heterocyclic ring Saves researchers valuable time and effort through carefully structured critical reviews of the literature by experts
Download or read book Quinazolinone and Quinazoline Derivatives written by Ali Gamal Al-kaf and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2020-05-06 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the problems with modern public health is target searching for new highly effective medicinal preparations. Among those medicinal preparations are the natural and synthetic origins of quinazolinone-4 derivatives. Quinazolinone derivatives are reported to be physiologically and pharmacologically active. They also exhibit a wide range of activities such as anticonvulsant, antiinflammatory, antifungal, antimalarial, and sedative properties. Some of these compounds are identified as drugs used as diuretics, vasodilators, and antihypertensive agents. Moreover, sulfonamide derivatives have been widely used as bacteriostatic agents. Prompted by the above-mentioned facts and in conjunction with our ongoing program on the utility of readily obtainable starting material for the synthesis of heterocyclic systems of biological interest, we have decided to synthesize a series of quinazolinone derivatives having sulfonamide moiety with a potentially wide spectrum of biological responses.

Download or read book Emergency and Continuous Exposure Guidance Levels for Selected Submarine Contaminants written by National Research Council and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 2007-04-07 with total page 316 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: U.S. Navy personnel who work on submarines are in an enclosed and isolated environment for days or weeks at a time when at sea. Unlike a typical work environment, they are potentially exposed to air contaminants 24 hours a day. To protect workers from potential adverse health effects due to those conditions, the U.S. Navy has established exposure guidance levels for a number of contaminants. The Navy asked a subcommittee of the National Research Council (NRC) to review, and develop when necessary, exposure guidance levels for 10 contaminants. Overall, the subcommittee found the values proposed by the Navy to be suitable for protecting human health. For a few chemicals, the committee proposed levels that were lower than those proposed by the Navy. In conducting its evaluation, the subcommittee found that there is little exposure data available on the submarine environment and echoed a previous recommendation from an earlier NRC report to conduct monitoring that would provide a complete analysis of submarine air and data on exposure of personnel to contaminants.
