Book Hybrid PAPR Reduction Using Hartley Transform Pre Coding With Clipping and Filtering Technique in OFDM NOMA System

Download or read book Hybrid PAPR Reduction Using Hartley Transform Pre Coding With Clipping and Filtering Technique in OFDM NOMA System written by Kalpak Chandekar and published by . This book was released on 2020 with total page 8 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Non orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is one of the fundamental aspects of consideration for the upcoming fifth generation of cellular technology. The working principle of NOMA is based on sharing of the resource block with multiple users so as to have a better spectrum utility. This is different from the previous versions of multiple access techniques used where one resource block was allotted to only one user. Several studies have been made to combine NOMA with OFDM system so that the technical maturity of OFDM system can be used to improve the system performance, called as OFDM-NOMA systems. However, this also introduces a high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) in the system. This needs to be tackled as a high PAPR decreases the power efficiency of the system. This paper takes in consideration the reduction of PAPR by using a hybrid PAPR reduction using Hartley Transform pre-coding and Clipping and Filtering technique.

Book Design and Application of Multirate Filter

Download or read book Design and Application of Multirate Filter written by Partha Pratim Bhattacharya and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2012-05 with total page 104 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Multirate techniques are commonly used in audio and video processing, communications systems, and transform analysis. In most applications multirate systems are used to improve the performance, or for increased computational efficiency. OFDM is a very attractive technique for wireless communication due to its spectrum efficiency and channel robustness. The major drawbacks of OFDM system are high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) and inter-carrier interference (ICI). In this book, several important aspects are described as well as a mathematical analysis is provided, including the distribution of the PAPR used in OFDM system. Here, different PAPR reduction techniques like clipping, selected mapping (SLM) and Partial transmit sequence (PTS) are used to reduce PAPR. The performances of PAPR reduction techniques are then compared. Secondly, the performance of OFDM systems in presence of frequency offset between the transmitter and the receiver has been studied in terms of the carrier-to-interference ratio (CIR).

Book OFDM Systems and PAPR Reduction Techniques in OFDM Systems

Book excerpt: Communication is one of the important aspects of life. With the advancement in age and its growing demands, there has been rapid growth in the field of communications. Signals, which were initially sent in the analog domain, are being sent more and more in the digital domain these days. For better transmission, even single - carrier waves are being replaced by multi - carriers. Multi - carrier systems like CDMA and OFDM are now - a - days being implemented commonly. In the OFDM system, orthogonally placed sub - carriers are used to carry the data from the transmitter end to the receiver end. Presence of guard band in this system deals with the problem of ISI and noise is minimized by larger number of sub - carriers. But the large Peak - to - Average Power Ratio of these signal have some undesirable effects on the system. In this thesis we have focused on learning the basics of an OFDM System and have undertaken various methods to reduce the PAPR in the system so that this system can be used more commonly and effectively.

Book excerpt: A complete and comprehensive reference on modulation and signal processing for visible light communication This informative new book on state-of-the-art visible light communication (VLC) provides, for the first time, a systematical and advanced treatment of modulation and signal processing for VLC. Visible Light Communications: Modulation and Signal Processing offers a practical guide to designing VLC, linking academic research with commercial applications. In recent years, VLC has attracted attention from academia and industry since it has many advantages over the traditional radio frequency, including wide unregulated bandwidth, high security, and low cost. It is a promising complementary technique in 5G and beyond wireless communications, especially in indoor applications. However, lighting constraints have not been fully considered in the open literature when considering VLC system design, and its importance has been underestimated. That’s why this book—written by a team of experts with both academic research experience and industrial development experience in the field—is so welcome. To help readers understand the theory and design of VLC systems, the book: Details many modern techniques on both modulation and signal processing aspects Links academic research with commercial applications in visible light communications as well as other wireless communication systems Combines theoretical rigor with practical examples in presenting optical camera communication systems Visible Light Communications: Modulation and Signal Processing serves as a useful tool and reference book for visible light communication professionals, as well as wireless communication system professionals and project managers. It is also an important guide for undergraduates and graduates who want to conduct research in areas of wireless communications.

Book Wireless Infrared Communications

Download or read book Wireless Infrared Communications written by John R. Barry and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 186 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The demand for wireless access to network services is growing in virtually all communications and computing applications. Once accustomed to unteathered opera tion, users resent being tied to a desk or a fixed location, but will endure it when there is some substantial benefit, such as higher resolution or bandwidth. Recent technolog ical advances, however, such as the scaling of VLSI, the development of low-power circuit design techniques and architectures, increasing battery energy capacity, and advanced displays, are rapidly improving the capabilities of wireless devices. Many of the technological advances contributing to this revolution pertain to the wireless medium itself. There are two viable media: radio and optical. In radio, spread-spectrum techniques allow different users and services to coexist in the same bandwidth, and new microwave frequencies with plentiful bandwidth become viable as the speed of the supporting low-cost electronics increases. Radio has the advantage of being available ubiquitously indoors and outdoors, with the possibility of a seam less system infrastructure that allows users to move between the two. There are unan swered (but likely to be benign) biological effects of microwave radiation at higher power densities. Optical communications is enhanced by advances in photonic devices, such as semiconductor lasers and detectors. Optical is primarily an indoor technology - where it need not compete with sunlight - and offers advantages such as the immediate availability of a broad bandwidth without the need for regulatory approval.
