Book Save Tax Dollars

Download or read book Save Tax Dollars written by the Twenty-first Century Radical Tom and published by . This book was released on 2010-09 with total page 104 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present government in the United States was established in the eighteenth century. Now, in the twenty-first century, it is time for reorganization of the federal government and improvements in the organization of our state, county, and local governments. The First Constitutional Congress established the Congress, the Office of the President, and the Supreme Court. Powers were granted to each of the three branches of the federal government. The organization of the state, county, and local governments was not mentioned in the Constitution. "Save Tax Dollars" presents data pointing out the lack of proper organization of state and county governments that has added a very large amount of government overhead and resulted in inefficient use of taxpayer dollars. Federal, state, county, and local governments have not followed tenets used in the business world to establish efficiency and effectiveness. Why are you paying for excess government overhead? Are you satisfied with the current government organization? Are you ready for a change? "Save Tax Dollars" provides data that supports reorganization of government to save you paying excessive tax dollars.

Book Learn To Save Money From The Tax

Download or read book Learn To Save Money From The Tax written by Lauren Fleetwood and published by . This book was released on 2021-08-12 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When most of the Tax Saving Laws were set to expire at midnight, December 31st, 2014, in a rush to keep taxes from increasing, Congress signed into law on December 19th, 2014 in a last-minute Hail Mary one-year extension kicking the can down the road until the next Congress could deal with it. Both Houses of Congress made campaign promises to introduce a comprehensive tax restructure and reform for 2015. As usual, it is now in the twelfth hour of the closing minutes of 2015, and the do-nothing Congress is basically, doing nothing. The only ray of hope, however, is that Congress usually makes these extensions "retroactive" or backdate for current taxpayers to get their deductions on the 2015 Tax Returns prepared by April 15th, 2016.

Download or read book The Encyclopedia of Taxation Tax Policy written by Joseph J. Cordes and published by The Urban Insitute. This book was released on 2005 with total page 522 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "From adjusted gross income to zoning and property taxes, the second edition of The Encyclopedia of Taxation and Tax Policy offers the best and most complete guide to taxes and tax-related issues. More than 150 tax practitioners and administrators, policymakers, and academics have contributed. The result is a unique and authoritative reference that examines virtually all tax instruments used by governments (individual income, corporate income, sales and value-added, property, estate and gift, franchise, poll, and many variants of these taxes), as well as characteristics of a good tax system, budgetary issues, and many current federal, state, local, and international tax policy issues. The new edition has been completely revised, with 40 new topics and 200 articles reflecting six years of legislative changes. Each essay provides the generalist with a quick and reliable introduction to many topics but also gives tax specialists the benefit of other experts' best thinking, in a manner that makes the complex understandable. Reference lists point the reader to additional sources of information for each topic. The first edition of The Encyclopedia of Taxation and Tax Policy was selected as an Outstanding Academic Book of the Year (1999) by Choice magazine."--Publisher's website.

Book Saving America

Download or read book Saving America written by Mark Aesch and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-10-14 with total page 207 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: National polling indicates that for the first time in American history, people believe their children will not be as well off as they are. The primary reason for this? The lack of performance by government. The public sector receives trillions of American taxpayer dollars every year and yet because of its seeming inability to run effectively, government is not delivering the level of service the people are paying for. In Saving America, Mark Aesch tells us where government -- at the local, state, and federal level -- is falling short and offers a coherent, non-partisan, Seven-Step plan for rebuilding our nation's public agencies. The book is not a political broadside or a theoretical academic tract; it's an accessible guidebook that helps local citizens, elected officials, and administrators make American government great again. The Seven Steps process will lead to measurable gains for organizations large and small, including school systems, municipal governments, entire states, and even the federal government itself.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The federal government wastes your tax dollars worse than a drunken sailor on shore leave. The 1984 Grace Commission uncovered that the Department of Defense spent $640 for a toilet seat and $436 for a hammer. Twenty years later things weren't much better. In 2004, Congress spent a record-breaking $22.9 billion dollars of your money on 10,656 of their pork-barrel projects. The war on terror has a lot to do with the record $413 billion in deficit spending, but it's also the result of pork over the last 18 years the likes of: - $50 million for an indoor rain forest in Iowa - $102 million to study screwworms which were long ago eradicated from American soil - $273,000 to combat goth culture in Missouri - $2.2 million to renovate the North Pole (Lucky for Santa!) - $50,000 for a tattoo removal program in California - $1 million for ornamental fish research Funny in some instances and jaw-droppingly stupid and wasteful in others, The Pig Book proves one thing about Capitol Hill: pork is king!

This book was released on 2012-06-04 with total page 76 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Credit and debit cards are rapidly replacing cash and checks in today's economy, accounting for more than one-half of all retail sales in America, and that percentage is growing. Credit and debit cards are also used to buy nearly $30 billion a year in goods and services from our Federal Government. There are benefits to being able to use plastic for transactions, but there are also some consequences. Visa and MasterCard control 80 percent of the credit and debit card markets, and they have established a system of fees and rules that apply to every transaction conducted across their networks. Every time a credit or debit card sale is made, Visa and MasterCard take a cut of the transaction amount. Some of this cut they keep, but most of it is routed along to the bank that issued the card used in the transaction. This fee that they give to the card-issuing bank is called the interchange fee.
