Book excerpt: God sent me to empower the business people, to raise effective leadership and give the youth a sense of direction and achievement: I am to give to the church, the "things" I was giving the business world. This is the number one reason why I wrote this book. I discovered a powerful truth after about twenty years in the world of work and business. The first seven years in two salaried jobs and next ten years as a self employed professional, another three years as people's skills developer, business and leadership coach, and CEO of Christian Leadership Skills Inc., I discovered that having a job gets in the way of getting rich. When you read the next chapter on "21 REASONS WHY YOU MUST FIRE YOUR BOSS AND HIRE YOURSELF," you will see the second reason why I wrote this book. I had an encounter through a chanced discussion with my bank manager some years ago, after ten years of doing business. She asked if I was involved or knowledgeable in investing. Her experience got me startled. I wished I had been to her earlier. She told me that her family had been living on dividend income for about four years following seven years of commitment to investment. This highly paid banker hardly used her salaries nor that of her husband's business to run the family. They never needed to. I learnt the difference between earning money and making money. Prior to this period, I was working harder than my money. Following this divine enlightenment, I learnt, how to make my money work harder and how to be rich. This is the third reason why I wrote this book - to get your job out of your way, so you can be rich. Your employers can never make you rich.

Book Summary Fire Your Boss

Download or read book Summary Fire Your Boss written by BusinessNews Publishing, and published by Primento. This book was released on 2013-02-15 with total page 44 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The must-read summary of Stephen Pollan and Mark Levine's book: "Fire Your Boss: Why You Should Hire Yourself". This complete summary of the ideas from Stephen Pollan and Mark Levine's book "Fire Your Boss" shows that landing the job of your dreams has little to do with your company, your boss, your profession, or your location. It has nothing to do with your resume, your expanding menu of job skills, or your impressive business Rolodex. Sure, the state of the economy makes a difference, but it’s not the most important factor. Landing the job of your dreams is an inside job. It’s done by adopting an entirely new attitude toward work and the workplace, one that puts you in charge of your new job. The trick is to fire your boss and replace him or her with yourself. This summary exposes the seven key elements of the fire-your-boss philosophy. It also contains examples of how this strategy has helped people to achieve personal success and create their ideal job situation. Instead of seeing yourself as the victim of the workplace, get into the driver’s seat and change your work life for the better! Added-value of this summary: • Save time • Understand key concepts • Increase your business knowledge To learn more, read "Fire Your Boss" and land the job of your dreams!

Book excerpt: Fire Your Boss And Hire Yourself. Impossible? Not according to nationally bestselling author Stephen M. Pollan. As he says in this new and empowering book, "You don't have to accept your current work situation. You can be in control of your job and your stream of income, so you're never again subject to the whims, prejudices, moods, or circumstances of your so-called boss." In today's difficult work environment, gone are the days of finding satisfaction through your job, gone is the time when your job was secure, and gone are the days when your employer cared about you. This new environment requires new rules, and Pollan has provided surprisingly fresh and intriguing methods for finding "success" on the job. Book Firing at Will

Book excerpt: Firing at Will shows managers and employers how to do the most difficult part of their jobs: firing employees. Written by a leading employment lawyer in a refreshingly unlawyerly style, this guide takes the reader through the always-risky process of letting an employee go. Many employers and managers are afraid to pull the trigger when the employment relationship has broken down, and will postpone the decision by using progressive discipline and performance-improvement plans. However, an employer must be able to unload employees who threaten to undermine the company and its prospects, regardless of the risks involved in a termination. This book explains how to do it, how not to do it, and how to minimize the danger of an expensive employee lawsuit. No one said being an employer or a manager was easy. Fortunately, knowing how to fire employees will make your job much, much easier in the long run and save you heartache. Firing at Will teaches you what you need to know, without any legalese or boring recitations of statutes and case law. This book is filled with plain-English common sense, based on Jay Shepherd's 17 years of protecting employers in court. The style is conversational and often irreverent, but the lessons and tips are battle-tested. If you want to be a successful manager or employer—and sleep easier—you need to know how to fire at will. Gives employers and managers real-world advice on how to fire employees Teaches how to keep your company—and yourself—out of expensive employee lawsuits Guides you toward building a workplace where you'll need to fire fewer employees
