Book A Youth Baseball Coaching Guide

Download or read book A Youth Baseball Coaching Guide written by Danford Chamness and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2001-06-19 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book was written expressly for you who are coaching children in basetball. We stress how to teach children this complex game and to have fun doing it. The book covers all facets of the game from the most basic "how to" throw, catch, run and bat to game strategies and tactics. When coaching children it should be a fun experience for everyone, for you, for the parents, and most important of all, for the children. As a coach, we cover the teaching attitude and methods. We always keep in mind that these are children, and the game is for the kids and not for the adults. Winning isn't everything, but learning to play well and wanting to win is. We have taken the children from first grade through the eighth grade and bro-ken them into four categories. In each category we discuss the players needs and abilities, what they are capable of in both the physical and emotion sense, and their limitations. We have also defined the coach's role, the parent's role and the player's role.

Book Coaching T Ball

  • Author : Jerry Baseball
  • Publisher : Thosearegood
  • Release : 2022-02-04
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 40 pages

Download or read book Coaching T Ball written by Jerry Baseball and published by Thosearegood. This book was released on 2022-02-04 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hi, I'm Jerry Baseball, and I was looking for guidance when I set out to coach my oldest son's t-ball team three years ago. There were some books available, but they were either too expert "read my 300-page book on what I learned during 27 years of coaching t-ball," or too flippant "I coached a season of t-ball and lived to write this book." So, I experimented with every aspect of coaching a t-ball team. Some of the tactics in this book worked so great the first time that I never had to change them. Certain things I only figured out toward the end of the second season. Even though I was constantly tweaking things, we still outclassed most opposing teams. And if any team outclassed us, I copied what they were doing either immediately, like putting the lineup card on a huge piece of poster board, or the following season, like getting the biggest coaching staff possible. So, after coaching two successful seasons of t-ball, one with each of my sons, I wanted to write a template for what I would do if I coached another season. If you're a frazzled parent, you can read this book in 30 minutes, or if you're crunched for time, listen to the audiobook during your commute, and have a plan to lead you through a great season. Even if you haven't played baseball since Little League and you're better with spreadsheets than you are with kids, you'll trounce the other coaches by implementing what you learn in this book. People will come up to you mid-season and say things like, "you're so great with kids," and you'll look around to see if a kindergarten teacher is walking by. So, read this book, follow the plan, and prepare to have people ask, "are you a professional t-ball coach?" My answer is always "I wish!"
