Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ecstasy, or extasis, is the Greek term for trance, and is linked with a pleasurable, God-given state of out-of-body experience recorded throughout the New Testament and the church age. Starting with the apostles ecstatic experiences on Pentecost, the Book of Acts further records trances in the lives of Peter and Paul. From the early church to the Christian mystics of the Middle Ages and the famous revivalists of centuries present, God s movements on the earth have always been marked by these supernatural experiences. In this book, John Crowder takes us on a journey from Old Testament ecstatic prophets such as Samuel and Elijah, to the future ecstatics who will usher in a massive wave of harvest Glory to the streets in these last days. God has always wanted a people who live in the Heavens, even as they walk on the Earth. And the world is hungry for the demonstration of a gospel of supernatural power that flows from a life of divine pleasure. More than a state of mind, you will see how the nature of God s ecstasy is found in the joy, bliss and inner raptures of His presence. In this book, you will be encouraged to drink from the river of His pleasure! (Ps. 36:8)

Book Hot Dogs and Funerals

    Book Details:
  • Author : Willie Church
  • Publisher : Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.
  • Release : 2021-11-10
  • ISBN : 1638749310
  • Pages : 143 pages

Download or read book Hot Dogs and Funerals written by Willie Church and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2021-11-10 with total page 143 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hotdogs and funerals—right down the street from the funeral home sits a local ice-cream shop that also serves hamburgers, fries, and other artery clogging prizes the entire family can enjoy. However, nothing tasted as good as the footlong hotdog with sauce or as, us, locals would mispronounce, “a footer with sauce.” Mm-hm, boy, howdy, are they good! When I would come home on leave from the air force, the first place I wanted to visit was that little ice-cream shop to order “a footer with sauce” or, in my younger days, “two footers with sauce.” Again, I’m hard to kidnap. Don’t judge. Well, wouldn’t you know it, one evening when my sister and I were still young, Igene and Irene returned from the funeral home with two footers with sauce. Both footers were laid out in a cardboard box...much like the people in the funeral home now that I think about. In the box, each footer was placed inside the paper sleeve with the ice-cream store’s name on it. Due to the ride home, the footers were a little cold, and some of the sauce were stuck to the paper sleeve as well as some of the bun. No matter the condition, my sister and I held our footers proudly as if we were going to raise them like flags before a defeated enemy after a long hard-fought battle with starvation. No doubt this is what the marines felt like raising the American flag after the Battle of Iwo Jima. Bombs burst in the air of our minds as we relished (no pun intended) in our wiener victory!

Book excerpt: What if we stopped avoiding the difficult people in our lives and committed to simply loving everybody? What happens when we give away love like we're made of it? In Everybody, Always, Bob Goff's joyful New York Times bestselling follow-up to Love Does, you'll discover the secret to living without fear, constraint, or worry. Bob teaches us that the path toward the outsized, unfettered, liberated existence we all long for is found in one simple truth: love people, even the difficult ones, without distinction and without limits. In Everybody, Always, Bob shows us the simple truths about life that have the power to shift our mindset forever: Jesus uses our blind spots to reveal himself to us It's easy to love kind, lovely, humble people, but you have to tackle fear in order to love people who are difficult What we do with our love will become the conversations we have with God Dark and scary places are filled with beautiful people who need our unconditional love Extravagant love has extraordinary power to change lives, including our own Driven by Bob's trademark storytelling, this book reveals the wisdom Bob learned--often the hard way--about what it means to love without inhibition, insecurity, or restriction. From finding the right friends to discovering the upside of failure, Everybody, Always points the way to embodying love by doing the unexpected, the intimidating, the seemingly impossible. Whether losing his shoes while skydiving solo or befriending a Ugandan witch doctor, Bob steps into life with a no-limits embrace of others that is as infectious as it is extraordinarily ordinary. Everybody, Always reveals how we can do the same.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christians know we are saved by our faith in Jesus, but we can’t always answer other people’s questions about how that works. Faith Simplified is written for Christians seeking a deeper and clearer understanding of their faith. It explains Christianity to the non-theologian by taking the reader through Scripture to see where the theology of salvation originated, why it makes sense, and how salvation through Jesus was God’s plan from the beginning. Although Faith Simplified explains complex theology from a scholarly perspective, the conversational tone, narrative illustrations, and bullet summaries provide “light bulb” moments of understanding. God wants it to be simple to believe in him. He also gave us minds so we could understand our faith. Faith Simplified explains Christian theology so that not only is it simple and easily understood, it also makes sense, making our faith stronger and easier to share.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Encounter Jesus Like Never Before through Eastern Eyes Throughout these pages, Ravi Zacharias and Abdu Murray invite readers to rediscover the cultural insights we often miss when we ignore the Eastern context of the Bible. They offer a refreshing picture of Jesus, one that appeals to Eastern readers and can penetrate the hearts and imaginations of postmodern Westerners. In Seeing Jesus from the East, Ravi Zacharias and Abdu Murray show us why a broader view of Jesus is needed - one that recognizes the uniquely Eastern ways of thinking and communicating found in the pages of the Bible. Zacharias and Murray capture a revitalized gospel message, presenting it through this Eastern lens and revealing its power afresh to Western hearts and minds. Incorporating story, vivid imagery, and the concepts of honor and shame, sacrifice, and rewards, Seeing Jesus from the East calls believers and skeptics, both Eastern and Western, to a fresh encounter with the living and boundless Jesus.

Book Terms of Service

  • Author : Jacob Silverman
  • Publisher : Harper Collins
  • Release : 2015-03-17
  • ISBN : 0062282514
  • Pages : 362 pages

Download or read book Terms of Service written by Jacob Silverman and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 2015-03-17 with total page 362 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Social networking has grown into a staple of modern society, but its continued evolution is becoming increasingly detrimental to our lives. Shifts in communication and privacy are affecting us more than we realize or understand. Terms of Service crystalizes this current moment in technology and contemplates its implications: the identity-validating pleasures and perils of online visibility; our newly adopted view of daily life through the lens of what is share-worthy; and the surveillance state operated by social media platforms—Facebook, Google, Twitter, and others—to mine our personal data for advertising revenue, an invasion of our lives that is as pervasive as government spying. Jacob Silverman calls for social media users to take back ownership of their digital selves from the Silicon Valley corporations who claim to know what's best for them. Integrating politics, sociology, national security, pop culture, and technology, he reveals the surprising conformity at the heart of Internet culture—explaining how social media companies engineer their products to encourage shallow engagement and discourage dissent. Reflecting on the collapsed barriers between our private and public lives, Silverman brings into focus the inner conflict we feel when deciding what to share and what to "like," and explains how we can take the steps we need to free ourselves from its grip.
