These temperatures typi cally range from about 20° to 40°c (68° to 104°f), depending upon season and time of day of harvest. Pre viously published information derived from this series of experiments will be used where necessary for clarity and so that those in the trade can adequately evaluate the procedures and results to be presented. The results will emphasize the influence of the various treatments on ripening, development of decay, chilling injury and other disorders, and on the overall potential eating quality of the melons.
