Book Healing the Homeopathic Way

Download or read book Healing the Homeopathic Way written by Jörg Wichmann and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2020-01-02 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Homeopathy works, heals and is easy to explain and understand. All that is needed is a change of perspective to a scientific paradigm that suits homeopathy and on which basis its laws make sense. In the current discussion about the effectiveness of homeopathy, this book gives clear answers and illuminates the historical, philosophical and scientific backgrounds of this holistic medicine. It shows that there is much more to it than a healing method. Homeopathy offers a medical alternative that does not produce resistant germs, does not bring hormones and toxins into the body and the environment, and due to its minimal consumption of resources is sustainable, inexpensive and can be used worldwide. Homeopathy is a healing method that moves between the worlds of modern science and the traditional holistic paths and can contribute the best from both sides. It developed an accuracy of observation, documentation and knowledge of remedies, as well as an international exchange of experience, as is only known from modern sciences. And it builds on the depth of the intuition of the practitioners, on the direct encounter with the essence of the remedies and on an understanding of the life force as only the holistic traditions cultivate. Only those who see both sides can truly understand homeopathy and use or exercise its full potential.

Book Copeland s Cure

Download or read book Copeland s Cure written by Natalie Robins and published by Knopf. This book was released on 2009-07-22 with total page 351 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today, one out of every three Americans uses some form of alternative medicine, either along with their conventional (“standard,” “traditional”) medications or in place of them. One of the most controversial–as well as one of the most popular–alternatives is homeopathy, a wholly Western invention brought to America from Germany in 1827, nearly forty years before the discovery that germs cause disease. Homeopathy is a therapy that uses minute doses of natural substances–minerals, such as mercury or phosphorus; various plants, mushrooms, or bark; and insect, shellfish, and other animal products, such as Oscillococcinum. These remedies mimic the symptoms of the sick person and are said to bring about relief by “entering” the body’s “vital force.” Many homeopaths believe that the greater the dilution, the greater the medical benefit, even though often not a single molecule of the original substance remains in the solution. In Copeland’s Cure, Natalie Robins tells the fascinating story of homeopathy in this country; how it came to be accepted because of the gentleness of its approach–Nathaniel Hawthorne and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow were outspoken advocates, as were Louisa May Alcott, Harriet Beecher Stowe, and Daniel Webster. We find out about the unusual war between alternative and conventional medicine that began in 1847, after the AMA banned homeopaths from membership even though their medical training was identical to that of doctors practicing traditional medicine. We learn how homeopaths were increasingly considered not to be “real” doctors, and how “real” doctors risked expulsion from the AMA if they even consulted with a homeopath. At the center of Copeland's Cure is Royal Samuel Copeland, the now-forgotten maverick senator from New York who served from 1923 to 1938. Copeland was a student of both conventional and homeopathic medicine, an eye surgeon who became president of the American Institute of Homeopathy, dean of the New York Homeopathic Medical College, and health commissioner of New York City from 1918 to 1923 (he instituted unique approaches to the deadly flu pandemic). We see how Copeland straddled the worlds of politics (he befriended Calvin Coolidge, Herbert Hoover, and Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, among others) and medicine (as senator, he helped get rid of medical “diploma mills”). His crowning achievement was to give homeopathy lasting legitimacy by including all its remedies in the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act of 1938. Finally, the author brings the story of clashing medical beliefs into the present, and describes the role of homeopathy today and how some of its practitioners are now adhering to the strictest standards of scientific research–controlled, randomized, double-blind clinical studies.

Book Miracles of Healing by Homoeopathy

Download or read book Miracles of Healing by Homoeopathy written by R.P. Mathur and published by B. Jain Publishers. This book was released on 2023-11-21 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers fascinating and insightful coverage of the role of Homeopathy in the field of psychiatric illness. It is very comprehensive and shows the deep understanding that Andre Saine has of Homeopathy. The book is the verbatim text of a seminar on the homeopathic treatment of psychiatric illness, held in 1991 in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, by the aptly named Canadian homeopath, Andre Saine, ND. As such it has the raw feel of the spoken word transcribed into an altogether different medium -- that of writing -- and in its plain binding it is not in the slightest hit 'over-produced' as so many of today's books are. This volume may lack a glossy cover but it definitely isn't short on content: the depth of Dr Saine's experience in this most difficult area of homeopathy comes out on every page in a very direct and accessible way.

Book excerpt: Dr. Sandy Dinsdale is a registered General Practitioner with twenty three year's experience in family medicine. A serendipitous encounter with homeopathy early in her career set her off on a remarkable journey of discovery. In Medicine with Meaning she explains how her understanding of the depth and breadth of homeopathy as a mind-body medicine evolved, challenging readers to question and expand their own world views. With personal examples, she illustrates how homeopathy's Law of Similars applies to everyday human experience as part of the natural interconnected web of life. Medicine with Meaning explores the historical and philosophical development of homeopathy as an empirical individualised form of treatment. Real patients' cases reveal the level of information transferred by a simple homeopathic remedy, and the beneficial results. Advocating for a more balanced medical system capable of treating the whole person, Medicine with Meaning shows us homeopathy's true power to heal, and it's rightful place alongside conventional medicine.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Homeopathy or homoeopathy is a pseudoscientific system of alternative medicine. It was created by Samuel Hahnemann. Its practitioners, called homeopaths, believe that a substance that causes symptoms of a disease in healthy people would cure similar symptoms in sick people; this doctrine is called "similia similibus curentur," or "like cures like". The term "homeopathy" was coined by Hahnemann which comes from the Greek: hómoios, "like" and páthos, "suffering". Hahnemann gathered and published a complete overview of his new medical system in his book, The Organon of the Healing Art, whose 6th edition, known as Organon of Medicine, is still relevant today. Homeopathic healing is considered controversial and it received a lot of critique over the years, but it still survived and is practiced today._x000D_ Table of Contents:_x000D_ Organon of Medicine by Samuel Hahnemann_x000D_ Of the Homoeopathic Doctrines by J.
