Book excerpt: Excerpt from History of the Black Man; An Authentic Collection of Historical Information on the Early Civilization of the Descendants of Ham, the Son of Noah It is very essential that every race should possess a correct knowledge of its own past history. The masses of the American negro have been deprived of the opportunity of obtaining an adequate knowledge of the past history of the black man. The average historian has not considered the ancient history of the black man of sufficient importance to claim his attention Even Mr. Myers would have the students of his general history belive that the black man has always been a hewer of wood and a drawer of water. A large majority of the men of letters of our own people who are very proficient in ancient, medieval, modern history of Greece and Rome, and even China, Japan and other European and Asiatic countries, know very little of the history of their own people. A lack of historical knowledge of ourselves has been the means of lessening of our race pride. A better knowledge of the contribution of the black man to civilization will cause us to have a better opinion of ourselves. Book History of the Black Man

Download or read book History of the Black Man written by Joseph Julius Jackson and published by . This book was released on 2019-12-13 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 2019 Reprint of 1921 Edition. Full facsimile of the original edition, not reproduced with Optical Recognition software. An early proponent of Pan-Africanism, Jackson was an African American minister and preacher. As the title suggests, Jackson argues the fundamental importance of the early civilization of the descendents of Ham and the history of the Black Kingdoms of Ghana, Melle, Songhay and Hansas. He also discusses the history of the Early American Black man and woman. According to Jackson: "it is very essential that every race should possess a correct knowledge of its own past history. The masses of the American negro have been deprived of the opportunity of obtaining an adequate knowledge of the past history of the black man. The average historian has not considered the ancient history of the black man of sufficient importance to claim his attention. Even Mr. Myers would have the students of his general history believe that the black man has always been a hewer of wood and a drawer of water." He Concludes: "At considerable expense and with much labor and research, the writer has succeeded in collecting what he considers a great deal of valuable information, which he has placed in this little book and given to the public at a cost within the reach of everyone who desires valuable information upon the past and present history of the black man. A brief reference will be made to the origin of the race, the rise of the Ethiopian and Egypt, and the early influence of African civilization upon the ancient history of the world. Considerable space will be given to the black kingdoms of Soudan and the high degree of civilization which was found to exist among them before the arrival of white explorers. The following are some of the kingdoms to which reference will be made at some length: namely: Ghana, Melle, Songhay and Hansas. It will also be shown that Spain was ruled by a black dynasty of Africa for more than half a century, 1086-1147. Much space will be given to the history of the American negro, 1619 to the present date."

Joseph Julius Jackson, D.D. was an African-American preacher and head of the Baptist Aged Ministers' Home and Theological Seminary, in Bellefontaine, Ohio. In 1921 after considerable expense and with much labor and research he published the book "The History of the Black Man" which covers an authentic collection of historical information on the early civilization of the descendents of Ham, the son of Noah: history of the Black kingdoms of Ghana, Melle, Songhay and Hansas, and the early American Negro. In introducing his book Jackson notes that "it is very essential that every race should possess a correct knowledge of its own past history. The masses of the American negro have been deprived of the opportunity of obtaining an adequate knowledge of the past history of the black man. The average historian has not considered the ancient history of the black man of sufficient importance to claim his attention. Much space will be given to the history of the American negro, 1619 to the present date." In discussing the evils of slavery, Jackson writes: "The black man himself in his African home has been the owner of slaves. Slavery still exists among some of the African tribes. I do not want it understood that I would for a moment endorse or sanction the institution of slavery, but I mention these facts to show that the people of the United States of America should not be considered the meanest people in the world because they once held our ancestors as slaves." Other books by this author include: A compendium of historical facts of the early African Baptist churches

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Bible gives the first and only true account of the origin of mankind. It is the only book containing an accurate record of the progress of man toward civilization, and it is the indispensable reference of all searchers after the real facts of the birth of humanity and its progress toward the civilization of today; beginning with his creation, it is the only authentic record of man; authentic because it is first hand, not a copy of something else or a scientific or literary review, but a dispassionate record of man's creation and progress, untrimmed, unshaped and unvarnished, to suit prejudice. It would not be a complete record if it did not show with the rest of them the origin of the black man and "Woe for all these pinnacle thieves"-it shows that he, the "black man" is the "father of civilization." The black man has been misrepresented by prejudiced historians and lecturers. It has been and is now quoted that Ham, the father of the black man, was cursed by his father, Noah. Now, in regard to this incident let us take the Biblical record for it, and anyone not totally blind with prejudice will be convinced by reading in the Book of Genesis the 9th Chapter from the 20th to the 27th verse inclusive, that Noah did not, "for he could not curse" Ham, although he did in a fit of intoxication pronounce a curse on Canaan, the son of Ham.

Book The Myth of Ham in Nineteenth Century American Christianity

Download or read book The Myth of Ham in Nineteenth Century American Christianity written by S. Johnson and published by Springer. This book was released on 2004-12-02 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph is an original study of what is commonly termed the American "myth of Ham". It examines black and white Americans' recourse to the biblical character of Ham as a cultural strategy for explaining racial origins. Previous studies in the area have been restricted to associating the Hamitic idea with pro-slavery arguments, whereas the thesis of this project reveals a fundamental irony: black American Christians who reinforced the meanings of illegitimacy by appealing to Ham as the ancestor of the race.

Book The Bible Is The Black Man s History book

Download or read book The Bible Is The Black Man s History book written by Mawuli and published by Neduson Research Services. This book was released on 2016-07-01 with total page 21 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you ever wanted IRREFUTABLE EVIDENCE that black people wrote the Bible, you are looking at it! Anyone or group of people can claim to be the Lost Tribes of Israel. That is easy. But making such a claim does not mean it is true. Therefore, what separates the GENUINE Israelites from the wannabes is the EVIDENCE or PROOF they provide to support their claim. Sadly, there are reckless black people making such claims but when challenged for proof, they have nothing to show and come up short. Consequently, their blundering undermines our genuine Hebrew identity and turns it into a joke. Thus, because of their rash behaviour they cause huge damage to our black history. This book aims to arrest the damage done to our heritage by these less informed black people. It does so by providing the necessary evidence, which proves that large sections of the black race are the true Israelites. The PROOF/EVIDENCE provided in this book is quite unique. It is unlike anything you have read before and will ever read anywhere else. Also, it is comprehensive and designed to forever silence the critics. You will read information that nobody else knows but only the direct descendants of the ancient Israelites knows about. Thus, proving conclusively that we are indeed who we claim to be - the true children of Israel.

Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Black Man: The Father of Civilization, Proven by Biblical History Have been said and done against the Negro during this Christian era, one poor be nighted individual published a joke in book form, in which he claims that, the Negro is a beast, the poor fellow tries to be serious, and no doubt thinks he is offering at least some proof of his assertion. The poor fellow of course, receives some sym pathy, and would no doubt receive as much as any of the rest of his class, were it not for the fact that he holds a Professorship in. One of our leading American Christian Universities. Of course the disgust, if any, is felt for those responsible for placing the poo-r devil in such a position, and the real and well placed sympathy is for the stu dent, who must suffer because of this fel low. The fact remains, however, that re gardless of what has been said and done against the Negro and of whatever might be said or done against him in future, he is the only man who can trace himself back through the ages to his origin, and find monumental evidence of his unequaled greatness, his prowess, the laurels and great honors he won, the things he created and perfected which have a direct in uence on our civilization of today.
