Book The Seven Motivations of Life Taking Your Leadership to a Higher Level

Download or read book The Seven Motivations of Life Taking Your Leadership to a Higher Level written by Mark Oliver and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2018-12-14 with total page 333 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Seven Motivations of Life helps you to answer big questions in your life, such as: who am I and how can I lead myself and others more effectively? This book predicts human behaviours while giving clear and practical ways to be more effective both professionally and personally. It defines the key characteristics of 'being human' while shedding light on common life experiences. This theory gives major and sometimes surprising insights into being human and humanity. It identifies the four, and only four ways, to lead and it fully explains the empirical results of what makes a great leader which were identified by Jim Collins in his bestselling book: GOOD TO GREAT. In many ways, Collins' book provides the facts while this book provides the theory. For instance, Graham Robertson (VP & MD, McCormick Foods Australia) commented: 'A fascinating book...so simple in concept yet so powerful in its application to leadership learning and development...this book is a fantastic read'

Book My Gospel Duty

Download or read book My Gospel Duty written by William Chen and published by William Chen. This book was released on with total page 84 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gospel Duty were the first two words that jumped into my mind when I needed a file name in order to save my work. My intention is to share my experience with the person who is waiting for any proof of the existence of God before he or she is willing to accept the Lord, or as I like to put it - - to fall to the “right” side of the fence. In addition, my purpose is to outreach to the unaffiliated individual in hopes that he or she will return to God. This book is based on the accumulation of over 60 years of my very personal experience. There are many events in my life that could not have occurred without the help from the Holy Spirit. An incident that finally persuaded me to believe in the existence of the Holy Spirit was when I walked into a Catholic church in Dali, Yunnan, China, a remote town at the eastern edge of the Himalayan mountain range; and purchased a notebook the next day with a clear instruction from my Holy Spirit. This event gave me the reason and the impetus to write my lifelong experiences. This writing is about the existence of the Holy Spirit and my faith journal as an immigrant. Having faith is the best things can happen to any individual because God gives us peace within our heart. I invite you on my journey towards an enlightened faith.

Book Engineering Physics of High Temperature Materials

Download or read book Engineering Physics of High Temperature Materials written by Nirmal K. Sinha and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2022-03-29 with total page 436 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ENGINEERING PHYSICS OF HIGH-TEMPERATURE MATERIALS Discover a comprehensive exploration of high temperature materials written by leading materials scientists In Engineering Physics of High-Temperature Materials: Metals, Ice, Rocks, and Ceramics distinguished researchers and authors Nirmal K. Sinha and Shoma Sinha deliver a rigorous and wide-ranging discussion of the behavior of different materials at high temperatures. The book discusses a variety of physical phenomena, from plate tectonics and polar sea ice to ice-age and intraglacial depression and the postglacial rebound of Earth’s crust, stress relaxation at high temperatures, and microstructure and crack-enhanced Elasto Delayed Elastic Viscous (EDEV) models. At a very high level, Engineering Physics of High-Temperature Materials (EPHTM) takes a multidisciplinary view of the behavior of materials at temperatures close to their melting point. The volume particularly focuses on a powerful model called the Elasto-Delayed-Elastic-Viscous (EDEV) model that can be used to study a variety of inorganic materials ranging from snow and ice, metals, including complex gas-turbine engine materials, as well as natural rocks and earth formations (tectonic processes). It demonstrates how knowledge gained in one field of study can have a strong impact on other fields. Engineering Physics of High-Temperature Materials will be of interest to a broad range of specialists, including earth scientists, volcanologists, cryospheric and interdisciplinary climate scientists, and solid-earth geophysicists. The book demonstrates that apparently dissimilar polycrystalline materials, including metals, alloys, ice, rocks, ceramics, and glassy materials, all behave in a surprisingly similar way at high temperatures. This similarity makes the information contained in the book valuable to all manner of physical scientists. Readers will also benefit from the inclusion of: A thorough introduction to the importance of a unified model of high temperature material behavior, including high temperature deformation and the strength of materials An exploration of the nature of crystalline substances for engineering applications, including basic materials classification, solid state materials, and general physical principles Discussions of forensic physical materialogy and test techniques and test systems Examinations of creep fundamentals, including rheology and rheological terminology, and phenomenological creep failure models Perfect for materials scientists, metallurgists, and glaciologists, Engineering Physics of High-Temperature Materials: Metals, Ice, Rocks, and Ceramics will also earn a place in the libraries of specialists in the nuclear, chemical, and aerospace industries with an interest in the physics and engineering of high-temperature materials.

Book Himalayan Mobilities

Download or read book Himalayan Mobilities written by Robert E. Beazley and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-06-22 with total page 175 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The goals of this book are to update information on the effects of rural road development, both in Nepal and globally, explain the environmental, socioeconomic, and sociocultural impacts of expanding rural road networks in the Nepalese Himalaya, and to promote further studies on rural road development throughout the world based on studies and investigations performed in Nepal. Readers will learn about the history of rural road development, as well as the challenges to effectively design and construct rural roads and how these obstacles may be overcome. Chapter one offers a global review of road development, and both the positive and negative impacts of rural road implementation. Chapter two defines mobilities within the context of coupled social and ecological systems, specifically in the Nepalese Himalaya. Chapters three through five detail the environmental, socioeconomic, and sociocultural impacts expanding rural road networks through several case studies. The concluding chapter summarizes the findings of the book, discussing the need for interdisciplinary cooperation and collaboration to avoid negative consequences. This book will be of interest to teachers, researchers, policy makers, and development organizations.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Himalayan Bond is about a fascinating journey through India taken by two young men one Indian, Dani, and one British, Roland to explore the conflicting issues of globalisation and sustainability that affect both urban and rural areas in modern-day India. They take in the hustle and bustle of Delhi before heading to the lower Himalayas and Danis childhood home. Dani introduces Roland to the charm and magic of India and leads him to his ancestral mountain landscape, revealing the treasures, simplicity and spirituality of Danis heritage. The themes that the author has tried to explore, and his observations, are thoughtful and compelling. The story takes place against the backdrop of the International Conference on Climate Change in Copenhagen in 2009. The author has written a lot of the book from his own experience and feels very strongly about the issues discussed as they threaten his family home and the countryside he is so familiar with. He explains the nuances of everyday living and provides a rare insight into age-old values somehow untarnished by modernity. During their travels, they explore and discuss a variety of topics: the history of the area and what the British Empire meant to people in India; old skills and traditions that are disappearing; the importance of rituals and karma and the way they are passed down through generations; the caste system and arranged marriages; environmental problems; poverty; farming; the effects of building hydro dams; how large corporations are displacing villages; how age-old sustainable ways and skills are being lost in the race for a modern lifestyle in the Himalayas and around the world; and party politics, with power as an end in itself. Tales from Indias history, mythology and changing lifestyle are used to help explain Indias rich past and the challenges for its future. ...A good and informative read for anyone wanting to travel to the country. Devdan Sen (Co-author: Rough Guide to India)
